I loved this part of the game and just mentioning, and I understand why they didn’t do it but in the bun selling scene, Tifa wouldn’t be wearing her regular outfit, she first got it when Jessie picked it out for her as a gift because she thought Tifa would look good in it. It’s interesting Tifa only wears that outfit because before this, she was very into fashion and dressing up The cowgirl outfit she wore in it actually was a gift from an old women in the village whose granddaughter had left Nibelheim for work and she thought it was cute. Then, as she was absolutely convinced that Cloud would be one of the SOLDIERs coming there, she wore it with the sole intent of trying to gain his attention. Also, another fun fact is that (if you played the Rebirth Demo), the exercise group in the village at the beginning of the chapter was actually founded by Zangan and was run normally by Tifa. She wasn’t running it in the Demo because she was preparing for the guiding and she wasn’t in her house because she was looking for her cat Fluffy in the mountains (She did find her)
Which is why Tifa is their #1 FF waifu due to paying off her debt hospital bill that every male players wants to be her husband to sell more buns together.
You might know this already, but in case not, a book was released in 2023 titled FF7 Traces of Two pasts. It's about Aerith and Tifa's pasts and Tifa's part covers this part shown in the game, but expanded much more. Plus of her time in Nibelheim after Cloud left. It''s a good read :)
It's available as a physical copy in bookstores. I got it from indigo in canada. Amazon also has it, as well as an ebook format is available :) @inesatt1313
"Back when I was still finding my feet in Midgar, I...ran into some trouble. But she took me under her wing, helped me out... Saved me, really. I admired her... She was so cool and confident. Like nothing could bring her down. I owe her so much... Thank you for everything." - Tifa, Chapter 8 of Rebirth if she's Cloud's date.
I feel so bad for Tifa, we as players sometime forget what these characters have been through before we first started to know them. Tifa was literally homeless for sometime, living her life feeling aimlessly after loosing her home, family and friends.
SPOILERS IF YOU WANT TO READ THE BOOK!!!>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tifa had actually saved enough money to pay-off the expenses for care and equipment by this time. But she still worked her as off for like another two years because the Doctor and her son that saved her were actually scamming her for more money. The Doctor's son had a serious gambling addiction and was using her to pay for HIS debt. Tifa eventually finds out shortly after partnering up with Avalanche and running 7th Heaven. The got a beautiful heel kick to his chest sending him crashing into a wall. I had never been more happy for a fictional character in my life.
@@ggastino That was a different doctor. Zangan first took her to Dr. Cheiran in Corel for an immediate surgery then was suggested to transfer to a bigger city for an advanced treatment. He then took her to Dr. Oranye at Midgar because Oranye's son Rakesh (who gamble all the money out) is one of his student.
I mean, in Remake, their friendship was just budding and taking time to bloom. While here with Jessie, the friendship has been developing for some time. Now after you see Rebirth, you definitely see that Tifa and Aerith became besties easily.
Kinda weird how nice Jessie is to Tifa here when she's so matter of fact and distant to her in the Remake saying how she's too emotional for the mission and doesn't want her on the team.
You can be friends with someone but still criticize their faults. Jessie probably adores Tifa as a friend but feels that she would be better off as an observer rather than a front-line fighter.
How is she distant? They clearly have talked enough that Tifa told her about Cloud and their past as childhood friends. There's nothing wrong with saying someone it's too emotional and suggesting they don't participate on something who might affect them.
It doesn’t really go into detail in this but in the novel which this adapts, Tifa doesn’t join avalanche because she is hyper fixated on their goals like Barret, she joins because her friends are a part of it and she ended up going along with the ride and ending up there. This doesn’t mean she doesn’t support the Avalanche message, she does, but because she isn’t as hyper fanatical about it, she thinks their tactics are way too over the top. But she is too kind to say anything and it’s Cloud who manages to help her when she was feeling the most trapped with it all without even realising. That’s what Jessie means when she says she’d rather have cloud than Tifa, she is too worried about collateral damage to innocents, the others think as long as it works for the ‘greater good’ it’s worth it and cloud honestly doesn’t care, his only loyalty is towards the money and Tifa Of course later, once he gets to know them all he gains loyalty to everyone, especially Barret.
She didn't seem distant. They didn't interact much, even in Jessie's death, but in rebirth, if you get the right scenario of course, Tifa gushes about how much admiration she had for Jessie and how she helped her out alot, plus in those bar flashbacks they're clearly tight
@RenaissanceElf ff7 was co-written by Sakaguchi, Kitase, Nomura & Nojima. Sakaguchi was writter or co-writter of masterpieces like ff4, 6, 7 or 9, & Kitase of ff6 & 7. The only decent stuff Nojima has done besides co-writting ff7 is wiriting ff10's plot, his other works are crap: ff8, ff10-2, compilation of ff7 & ff13 trilogy for example. So I consider his work here fanfiction as he is not under the supervision of Sakaguchi & Kitase.
@@FazFaz yeah, it's from the novel Traces of Two Pasts. It focuses on Tifa and Aerith's story filling up some gaps that the games haven't told us during that time. Although ever crisis is retelling some parts, a lot of details have been left out it seems. Still, it's nice they're doing this since they're trying to bring a closer to FF7 compilation.
I mean if you prefer spending money over getting this story for FREE in a mobile game lmao This entire side story is available in full detail in the book "Final Fantasy VII Remake: Trace of Two Pasts"
@@SwobyJ This story literally happens in the book, and the book references stuff that happens while the party is traveling from Midgar and Kalm so...no, you're incorrect. This is considered canon for FFVIIR. And you can pretend all you want since it's not in the original, but if the devs decide to tell us this is canon lore and backstory for the game, you kinda have to accept that at some point. They're allowed to expand upon their own creation, despite what the purists will say lol
lmao they are...just friends. didnt get any fruity vibes from either. tifa was desperately alone and needing friends. jess was that friend and the other two dudes. then barret and etc.

The novel revealed that Tifa just got scammed

Goddamn, when in FF7 Rebirth, after Tifa saw the performance with Jessie dancing and it left her crying. Its even more deep of a meaning with this.
