From what i heard Matty and Taylor had been communicating for some time trough songs (swirled you into all of my poems i think she says somewhere), that is what I understood part of the trolling line to come from. The placement of the song after Fortnight is ok, I would normally say this was early in their relationship but I think it was so short that timing it is difficult. When i listen to this I keep in mind that Matty was in the studio with Jack at the same time that Taylor was working on midnights. He said they even did a collab but that that version did not make the cut (what song could that be, did Matty do a Snow on the Beach version, was it another song or maybe a song that did not make it to the album at all?). This means that they spent time together writing when she was having trouble with Joe. So he knew her diary, i.e. he knew how to get the girl. Typewriters are poo, hated working with them since languages are not my strong suit and with my ADHD brain going a lot faster then i typed it was a lot of liquid paper that i had to use while learning how to type. Was very happy my school could finally afford computers to type with. The only thing it is good for for me is that I retain things better when i have to think when i write/typewrite lines this way. Oh and I do think they were high together, there is a reason she has the line "6 weeks of clean air I still miss the smoke".
