In the Japanese game, the main weapons are dots - called "erasers" in the Japanese manual. These were changed into stars for the Western version to avoid having them looking like bullets.
Ha yep, Nintendo's censorship policy on display, paired with this being a Disney game likely as there are plenty of games with plenty of bullets on the NES.
Oh god, never have I laughed so hard when I watched the Game Grumps episode of this game. Short story shorter, Arin does a bad impression of AVGN and Danny(and by extension the rest of us)are laughing harder and harder. Pure classic Game Grumps episode.
You got it! Yeah the second half has its moments if you don't know where to go in the case of the forest, lots of powerful enemies in the case of the pirate ship, and the bosses/Minnie-napping bird in the final stage.
A little trick to bring Minnie to Mickey is too press the down arrow, she will walk to the same horizontal position. It helps to align the jumps on the castle
Yeah it's a tight little game and a good platformer with a few stretches of great difficulty, especially if you're not sure where to go or how to handle them.
4 of the characters appear in their films and TV shows Tick Tock - Peter Pan (1953) Kaa - The Jungle Book (1967) Maleficent - Sleeping Beauty (1959), Maleficent (2014) and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019) Alice - Alice in Wonderland (1950 and 2010), Adventures in Wonderland (1992 TV Series) and Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016)
Japanese version has the Dodo in the ocean. (And I never never never do a thing about the weather, cause the weather never never does a thing for me~!)
Could have been worse. Title could have been CARTOON MOUSE ADVENTURES. And this dual screen technology... color me impressed. Is it weird that food gives you a little health while wealth gives you far more? Also, given Minnie's invincibility, why is this game not called Minnie's Invincible Adventure?
Definitely like to cover Super Castlevania as I never played much of that as a kid. I did T2 on a sister channel and it was a disaster ha, that's one which I could stand to figure out, as well.
Loved me some Goof Troop, and A Goofy Movie in particular. We haven't done much in the Famicom exclusive category just because they're not nearly as widely known but I appreciate the request. So many great games that should've come to the NES, though.
Frustration Level 4?! BULLSHIT! I couldn't get through the 1st area, much less the game itself. No game broke my prepubescent balls worse than this game, including rpgs, platformers, and Nintendo Cheats titles. Frustration 10 all the way.
Yep but I have to say it's still one of those games which is satisfying to knock out in a crazy short amount of time like Kung Fu, Friday the 13th, or Double Dragon.
@@VideoGames101 Its easy to view it that way now with online walkthroughs. If you played it in the 90s, then it slots in neatly with games like the first NES Ninja Turtles and Bart Vs The Space Mutants in that knowing what to do is only half the fight, the other half is the game behaving long enough for you to do any of it.

@@VideoGames101I had this game for the NES and liked it, it was an interesting game to play.
150-160 in and I still look forward to the next one, can’t wait, every time. Thanks again Briggs
Thank you kindly Peter!
Oh god, never have I laughed so hard when I watched the Game Grumps episode of this game.

Pure classic Game Grumps episode.
Hahaha me too!! Hilarious
Haha you can argue this one deserves it.
I love all the little things I learn when coming to class. Thanks Professor!
Thank you very kindly Allryzer!
Oh my God. You unlocked a core memory. I totally forgot I had this game.
Ha I know the feeling!
I rented this one as a kid. Never managed to beat it in the weekend I spent with it back then. Thanks for the vindication, prof!
You got it! Yeah the second half has its moments if you don't know where to go in the case of the forest, lots of powerful enemies in the case of the pirate ship, and the bosses/Minnie-napping bird in the final stage.
I was hoping Mr. Clean was going to pop out of the water, instead of the scrubbing bubbles.😅
Haha that would be a VERY different game but that would be great.
A little trick to bring Minnie to Mickey is too press the down arrow, she will walk to the same horizontal position. It helps to align the jumps on the castle
That is true and one I forgot to mention and use in the moment, very nice trick indeed!
I remember having this game as a child. I hated that forest level...glad I was paying attention in class today!
Yeah they get EXTRA sneaky with some of the hidden entrances. Even if you think you found the right one, right back at the start.
still own this game, loved it back in the day, never did make it far but it was fun
Yeah it's a tight little game and a good platformer with a few stretches of great difficulty, especially if you're not sure where to go or how to handle them.
@@VideoGames101 i got lost in the woods, no clue where to go, once my lives ere gone I was done lol

Excellent context there, thank you!
@@VideoGames101 You’re welcome.
I'd call it a classic. It was one of the few game as a young child I could beat lol.
It's very satisfying to knock this one out in 15 minutes or so if you know you're way around and a few boss hacks.
My first nes game besides the double feature game that came with the console.
Ha nice, yep I began with Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt, as well.
Japanese version has the Dodo in the ocean. (And I never never never do a thing about the weather, cause the weather never never does a thing for me~!)
Yep, this is one of the more interesting instances of regional differences between the two games.
Also I think the Wizard is supposed to be the Hag from Snow White, (Evil Queen's disguise)
I had this as a kid. I absolutely couldn't get past one of the first few layers (I was maybe 5)
Yeah this had a few sections which were very difficult. I remember the pirate ship being a coin flip as to whether I could get past it as a kid.
This game killed me when I was little, still don’t know how I survived
Haha, yeah the last boss in particular is extremely difficult without that temp. invincibility, but some stretches to just get to her are tough.
I remember this game. So much fun. Have you done chip and Dale's rescue rangers on nes?
Yep it's on here!
I said aloud, THIS GUYS GOT HIS SHIT TOGETHER. SUBSCRIBED!
Haha late on my part but thank you!
The wizard in ther first level always remind me of Witch Hazel form the donald duck 'Trick or treat' Ep.
Yeah I can see that when I look her up; I think they used her in a few specials/episodes.
That witch could be from "The Sword in the Stone"
That's true. They didn't do the pinkish purplish hair but I could see that.
We stretched the technical budget with that effect! And that's a good question, what lesson was Capcom/Disney trying to impart to us??
Gibs me full credit, professor 👍
Given!
u guys should do classes on magical quest 1-3 and the illuision series on sega
This game was such a damn labyrinth as a child. Like WHERE THE F AM I?! Where were you 35 years ago professor?? Suffering right there with me I assume
Haha yep shouting as the bird snatched away Minnie and I was left to get smacked around in the castle trying to rescue her.
Video Games 101. Would you please play T2 The Arcade Game, or Super Castlevania IV for me?👍❤️
Definitely like to cover Super Castlevania as I never played much of that as a kid. I did T2 on a sister channel and it was a disaster ha, that's one which I could stand to figure out, as well.
What about an walkthrough of HIGEMARU MAKAIJIMA on Famicom?
This game is massive and it's kinda a grandfather of Goof Troop.
💎💎💎 AF indeed.

@@VideoGames101 yes indeed, the Famicom library is wonderful and underrated even in Japan.
The Dodo is the second boss.
I gave up as a kid lol
I never could get passed the woods
Yeah it's a sneaky maze indeed... I mean the secret entrance is AFTER the starting loop again for one part.
Frustration Level 4?!
BULLSHIT!
I couldn't get through the 1st area, much less the game itself. No game broke my prepubescent balls worse than this game, including rpgs, platformers, and Nintendo Cheats titles. Frustration 10 all the way.
I can definitely appreciate that, haha.
This game cold sucks. Shockingly weird decisions made in every direction.
Yep but I have to say it's still one of those games which is satisfying to knock out in a crazy short amount of time like Kung Fu, Friday the 13th, or Double Dragon.
