Today we're going to model a glass jar of pasta.
Extensions (plugins) I’m using:
Memory copy
Joint push pull
SUbD
Quadface tools
Vray for Sketchup
If you want to follow along with all the steps, and recreate this exact model yourself, I suggest you set the speed of the video to 0,25. That way you can follow the tutorial with no problem. But If you’re just here for the speed build timelapse, just sit back and enjoy the video as is, or you can even double the speed.
The rendering is done with Vray plugin for sketchup, but I keep it extremely simple. I just decrease the intensity of the light, increase the size of the sun to get that soft shadows effect and work around refraction and reflection of the materials.
In the lower left corner of your screen you can see what I’m typing but beware, I don’t use Sketchup default shortcuts as you’ll probably notice, but I’ll list all my custom shortcuts right below.
Here is the full list:
Ctrl+1 - Select tool
Ctrl+Q - Draw line
Shift+A - Draw arc
Ctrl+W - Mirror tool (plugin)
Ctrl+Shift+X - Move tool
Ctrl+Shift+A - Offset tool
Ctrl+R (or R) - Rotate tool
Alt+Y - Hidden geometry (on/off)
Ctrl+D - Tape measure
S - Scale tool
E - Eraser
C - Draw circle
Y - Draw rectangle
V - Paint bucket (Alt - Eyedrop tool)
A - Push pull

Thank you for watching and I’ll talk to you in the next one!!

Hello my friend. Sketchup no longer supports versions prior to 2019. MS Physics plugin does not work in versions above sketchup 2017. What can we do.?
Extraordinary, do you know, is there any plugin that displaces objects from their textures, similar to Mesh from heightmap but generating displacements directly on objects, not from images ?
Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
muy buenos tus modelados, sigue asi. saludos
Glad you like it. Gracias 😉
Have you sliced the jar, mine is not allowing objects to fall in ?
I have made a vessel using follow me tool and want to pour the boxes into the vessel is not happening.....please help....
Boxes stuck at the top of the vessel...... not going inside the vessel......
Your vessel needs to be static mesh. Select it, right click, MSPhysics - Shape - choose Static Mesh
Can we make something like Animating Vray textured object with just "Sketchup"(only Sketchup + plugins, no other software and sync) , for eg: like realistic moving car created from other software like Blender, maya?
We could, but Sketchup would struggle with it a lot. I'm not sure I have the will and patience to go through all of that😄
And it's not exactly my cup of tea. If you want to try on your own, check out Justin Geis's tutorials on Animator plugins on his The Essential Sketchup channel, he explains the principles of that plugin pretty well.
@@SketchupStyle Justin is like my favourite online SU teacher for now 🤣
Very Nice! ;- )
MPhysics doesn't work with SU 2019 and 2020
Unfortunately, that is true. I had to jump back to SU 2017 to play the simulation
does it run on SU 2018?
To be perfectly honest, I have no idea
I tried with Clothworks, it is possible to obtain an equivalent result and clothworks works on the SU2018 and 2019 versions
there is a limited free version
I have a question.
Is Physics Sketchup 2019 possible?
Unfortunately, no, it doesn't work. I had to jump back to SU 2017 to play the simulation
