    Complex subject of quad modelling explained lucidly. Nice work. Thank you. Can you please make one detailed tutorial, showing complex organic modelling in sketchup by using vertex tools and subD , artisan Something like car, animal. Super hero character
    Thank you once again for this video

      Thanks! I'll try to figure out something complex enough to be interesting, but not as complex to make it in a less than 10min long video

      Not exactly 10 minutes long, but I did a step by step video to create a twisted sofa years ago.
      I actually modeled a (Ferrari Formula 1) car with those tools, but a complete tutorial would be waaaay too long. 😅

    is it possible to do slide loops like in blender (G,G)?

    • @SketchupStyle
      @SketchupStyle  3 роки тому +1

      Unfortunately, that is still not possible. But, as a workaround, you can use "connect edges tool" (5:05) to add a loopcut where you need to slide one, and remove a loopcut you would like to slide. It's not as good as the Blender GG but that's all we got for now

      Not exactly in the same way of Blender or 3dsMax and such, but there are a couple of workarounds:
      1) Insert a loop and then use the "slide" tool in Vertex Tools 2 to adjust the placement.
      2) Use the "connect" tool with 2 segments and apply some pinching to correctly place the loop you need, then use the "remove loop" tool to get rid of the unneeded one.
      3) Use the "loop offset" tool, (wich is not exposed in the toolbar because is still a bit unstable/beta) if you hold Ctrl while offsetting loops, it works also as a loop chamfer tool. To activate the loop offset, go to menu>tools>quadfacetools>offsetloop... you can also assign a shortcut to it, moreover, the toolbar actually exists, althought being hidden, so you can reacall it using some toolbar building plugin such as "Toolbar editor" by Aerilius or "Lord of the toolbars" by Fredo.
