How Much Money I ACTUALLY Made in the Top 0.4% of My MLM | Usborne Books & More
You see MLM reps posting about how much money they make, all the things their MLM allows them to afford, and all of the financial freedom they have and that YOU can have if you join their team! It's time to debunk all of it. In this video, I show you real numbers of what I earned and spent as a leader in my MLM.

So I was thinking about this and realizing I’d only put aside 20-25% for taxes on my income after expenses, but I calculated it before. So if I was already in the red, I wouldn’t owe taxes. Wow congratulations to me! Only -$382 for January then. #WINNING

This is 100% while MLM’s do not work! You’re literally the companies best customer. That’s not how it’s suppose to be. People who work for the company shouldn’t also be the top customers. How can you bring home a profit if you’re constantly stacking your inventory. These consultants are actually taking money AWAY from their families. It’s sad because most consultants are stay at home moms trying to help bring in income when they end up taking money away from the family. You don’t own your own business and it’s all a scam! I’m so glad you shared the numbers

Yes!!! Obviously MLMers aren’t going to talk about their profit and loss, but this is the reality.

What do I think? Great Video! Reaching the $20K mark was a great accomplishment in itself. The hard part in stopping is in part due to the love of the books. Thank you for sharing. You did a great job! 🙂

I remember seeing all these leaders giving the pipe dream stories of because of my Ubam income, I was able to quit my full time job, my husband and I are able to build a new 3000 sq ft mansion, I bought a BMW, etc. Then I saw these same people on the top seller posts in our group. I was doing the simple math on how much they had made on their personal sales and thought they don't even make enough money to pay the water bill after they take out taxes. I know they were getting bonuses for being leaders, but there wasn't that dang many people on their teams and if they were the top sellers that meant all their teams weren't selling that much! I couldn't help but think these people are full of shit! They aren't building houses or quiting jobs because of Ubam income, they were doing it because they had other sources of income they didn't want to say or their spouses were making enough to enable this stuff. It all went along with the deceit that they do in recruiting.

I wish I would’ve seen this a couple years ago before I signed up for UBAM. I haven’t been an active consultant for almost a year. Breaking it down like this really opened my eyes to seeing how little I was actually making. Unfortunately, I still have inventory I need to get rid of and I have to pay the company back for that inventory. 😅 I signed up as a stay at home mom in 2020. I’m currently working and furthering my education. I was told I should only be spending 4-6 hours a week on my “business” as a consultant. I definitely spent WAY more time then that a week trying to promote and book parties. I can’t imagine working, going to school, being a mom, and spending time investing in my “business”. I still love our UBAM books but the training and income side of the company needs reworking. I was a part of a team who really trains their consultants, gives the team amazing graphics, party scripts, and recruiting tips. Even with all of that it’s not worth my time and energy if I’m barely making $500 a year..

I wanted to add this. I bought inventory and had vendor events booked but multiple of those events were canceled due to Covid. So now I’m stuck with all the inventory that I didn’t sell at those events.

It definitely takes wayyyyyy more time than they say it does. I say focus on selling that inventory and be done!

@@SimplyKellyNoelle Totally agree with you! Just watched your video on the rebranding. It was the last straw for me as well. I don’t have the energy to put into completely rebranding everything I had already built.

@@juliets110 It’s frustrating to say the least. Even if things could be great once a transition period is over, I’m positive income will dip for many during the transition.

Entrepreneurship is hard. The majority of people who start their own business fail, whether it’s mlm, real estate, Etsy, etc. if you look at the statistics for those, the numbers would be equally horrible. I don’t think it’s so much an mlm problem as it is a basic human nature problem together with a lack of good training.

This is so important for people to see. Thank you for putting yourself out there! This is going to help people who are thinking of joining an MLM because they’ve been promised a certain level of freedom and security. And maybe it will inspire those who are currently still in an MLM to do a profit and loss statement themselves.

This is such an important topic that doesn't get as much detailed coverage as it should. Thank you so much. I think it's worth pointing out that the IRS will not allow you to claim a business loss year after year after year. You would be setting yourself up for an audit or your deductions would be disallowed, etc. etc.......not a tax expert myself but I know there are limits on this. Great video!

Feeling embarrassed is normal but it's also healthy to let that embarrassment go and acknowledge that you were swindled and scammed by a business model that is designed to use almost every manipulation tool available to keep you pouring money into a system designed to fail. The people who run these businesses and establish these systems (as well as the people who reach the very top, realize how bad things are and then choose to stay because they're making bank) have extremely greedy mindsets and are often even narcissists who think they deserve it all and are willing to do whatever it takes to get and keep it. So you should be proud of yourself for not only making the right choice when your eyes were opened but making the choice to expose it all.
I will say that one point I disagree on if that you're not the average person in network marketing. You were in the top one percent and STILL ended up losing money in the end. That really, really says something as to how horribly unethical these companies are, that if you were at the top and lost that much, how much are those at the bottom, who choose to stick it out and stay in a year or two years or even more, or who mlm hop in the hopes that they just need to find the right company- how much were they losing. I'll just go ahead and tell you it's a lot more than 500. I've heard stories of and known people bankrupted, made homeless, robbed of tens and hundreds of thousands by MLMs (Amway and herbalife especially). One of the anti mlm youtubers, Deanna Mims, was a Star Diamond (one of the top Beachbody ranks) and she shows in her videos that she came out of it 5k in the negative despite being high up.
I want to point out that I'm not saying you should consider yourself lucky since that's all you lost (I mean you can if you want to but it's ok to be upset that you put so much into it and ranked up and we're promised so much only to lose in the end.) I just want to say that the average person never makes it up out of that first rank.
Thank you so much for this video. It really shows the truth that even those who are within the companies considered winners are losing too. You also have an amazing way of breaking things down and a charismatic presence on camera. ❤I wish you all the best

You know, you are right. I wasn’t average. It’s extremely sad that even in the top 1% of MLMs, many are not making money. Thank you so much for watching and for sharing your thoughts! I will definitely keep exposing truths about MLM.
