I remember the days, not that long ago where Chris did not like to be on film let alone talk!! The format and banter you have between yourselves is now is so entertaining well done.... Rob, a challenge for you!! lets have a video of bloopers / outtakes. I bet you have great fun....go on share them ???
My guess is the owner got ill and taken to hospital, meanwhile the car stood in the road and the tax ran out, so it was removed by our lovely bureaucrats.
Had that happen to me had a major heart attack and forgot about my car the tag ran out they towed it by time I found out they wanted 1500 for it to be released I told them to keep it good luck starting it I have special cut off switch in it lmao
I've been watching your channel for years, and you still react to my comments as you have done from day one. Your still humble enough to show you care about your viewers, where other channels stopped reacting as soon as they became popular. For that, I have massive respect for you guys. Your enthusiasm never fails for every project you touch! I love what you do here on your channel, and I look forward to every video. Keep them coming guys 👍
Rob, for us who only watch UA-cam and don't have Instagram ( obviously not buyers but serious followers of the Channel), pls tell us what it sold for.... thanks 👍
They are very entertaining. Loads of UA-cam channels doing exactly this formula but most of them are just fakers and grifters, these guys are genuine and honest.
A great business model. Sell it at a fair price. Next owner sells it fo a profit. And is responsible for any comebacks. Why do people keep saying you sell too cheap? You can't have hundreds of cars sitting around !
Please Rob give us a knees alert next time mate😂. Aiden is a great bloke drops everything to help you guys out should offer him a service on his van, may be a good vid. Love you guys. Aussie Graham.
Was the owners name and address on the invoice for new tyres ? Maybe they was took ill and couldn’t see to their business, get in touch and let them have car back. Obviously they’d have to pay your X’s, but could be an old person who’s now without wheels
My experience with SEAT/VAG glow plugs when they fail always resulted in engine management light. Once engine warm you could clear it just like yours until the next cold start.
Wouldn’t it be nice to make sure that it isn’t a case of sad circumstances and look at returning it if if turns out to be so, with appropriate compensations for your work? 🇳🇿
Glow plugs are used for dpf regen too not just for starting. Why dont you test the resistance using a multi meter and if they qre good change the module
I had one of these leons for a week as a hire car, it was a 2008 with 1.6tdi . Frankly I did not want to give it back at the end of the time. It was the only time Enterprise actually provided a decent vehicle.
good on you both for not inflating your prices. hopefully these cars which are well sorted go to good homes with people who both need them and will maintain them. it just seems so wasteful when cars are not looked after then discarded like some out of date food.
Some times in life, some people just cannot be bothered with the stress ..I too once left a car very similar without a battery in the boot !! Some people put way too much value on these things ...Great content !!
Maybe make a video going to find the old owner and give it back with a years tax money? Be interesting follow up video to find out why they lost their car and the circumstances. Prob make your money back from UA-cam revenue from us watching it . Just a thought. Great video btw
That was a great buy Rob! Hope you guys get Aidan a bloody good drink out of it when it’s sold - that lads worth his weight in gold! Great video as always guys 👍🏻
The fact you keep doing it is the thing that brings us back time and time again a tenner in the boot it was so funny knowing the tinker in chris is a demon in jeans 1/4 tank bonus and the way you selling it is a change but they say a change is good from time to time. nice one boys crack on
Previous owner probably decided it was not worth spending the cash to fix it and bought another car.....? Or they did such low mileage they decided to part with the car? Seems a decent enough car....
I was going to say that perhaps the original owner is at his majesty's pleasure, and I have just read a few posts down that it belonged to someone who is banged up,
We had a golf same year, same engine. When we chugged about in it, the same lights came on as yours. I used to take it for a blast in 3rd gear instead of 5th for 2 mins. The light used to go out and stay out. Take it for a good run and it'll be fine. Engine was fab, 65mpg on a run and 100% reliable. When we bought it for VW, they made a big deal about the type of journeys we did. They knew the light would come on.
@@timgundill3950 I seem to recall when I've hired VAG cars in the past it does actually tell you that when the DPF light comes on, to give it a high-rev blast on the road for twenty minutes!
Ignore comments saying you are selling too cheap,a big part of your success is your business model, if these people are as successful as you or even run a business I would be very surprised , you are succeeding where many have failed, why change anything. Give yourselves a pat on the back, you deserve all that you have .
Love to know the story behind that vehicle, looks far to tidy and cared for to just be no tax and a real find. Well done chaps, be a great runaround for someone. 👍
If you’re buying it or now bought it .Top tip run it on shell Vpower nitro .Im a driving instructor and never have problems with my diesel cars using the Shell diesel I don’t use it all the time (not economically viable ) but avoid supermarket stuff ! Just trying to help .
I've run cars on supermarket fuel for 22 yrs and never had an issue. It's all BS to make you buy more expensive fuel. Cars have to be able to run on the basic fuel that meet standards set. Anything about just may help it run a little better. But still no issues.
Owner may have "gone away" for a while so it just got taken by default. If you're renting and get sent down, maybe you can't get the car picked up or whatever and someone sees it sitting there and applies for the logbook, bosh.
i hope you do tell us in a video here what the winning bid was otherwise watching this is like watching a film without an ending, as other have said not everyone has Instagram or wants it , thanks
Hello Rob and Chris, another great video and yet again Aiden saves the day, he really knows his stuff. Good idea re the sealed bids. Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged.
He or she (or something else!) Could have received a driving ban. It's obviously been a young person, but still a nice car. Great, interesting videos guys.
£500 gamble well worth while chancing that one .What is Idans standard charge for sorting a key for an individual ? Interested in finding out Maybe the owner only had a learner licence and was a banned driver
I like your sealed bed idea. Should work out for you and also people buying. I am quite a long way from you, but always considering purchasing your fantastically repaired cars. Keep up the good work, I’ve been loving your videos for many years.👍
Great idea guys must be £2995.00 plus! I have an issue Rob, you said it sounds like a Swiss watch, now I have an expensive Swiss watch an its a lot quieter, so is my watch faulty 🤔. Another good one guys. Thank you!👍
You guys are a breath of fresh air on you tube I know nothing about cars but love watching your videos very interesting and informative also very honest looking forward to the next video
Like you, I’m worried someone has had their car towed and couldn’t afford to get it back. Perhaps you could track down the previous owner and give it back to them? That would be cool
I know what you mean, but it’s an interesting one. I’d struggle with not knowing what the story is? This T-roc mats and battery, caught after nicking them maybe? Anyway, those wheels look like BBS’s off a Mk5 Golf GTI Edition 30, could be fakes though. Good luck with it fellas, love the videos 👍
Rob & Chris, the way you usually roll is fine. You turn a small profit margin which is offet by your quick turnarounds. To me that's win-win situation.
somethings which could have happened. the owner could have been a migrant and had to go to their home country for a family emergency. the owner might have been locked up for something. the owner might be in hospital, or might have been rushed to hospital and the car is the last thing on their mind. anything could have happened, we know the laws don't discriminate.
Imagine doing a £5 raffle. Easily get 200 people.. if you get 2000 then donate profit to Great Ormand Street Children hospital. I get you like your way though.. but its easier with such a low crunch the numbers cost to do raffle. Get that CBE guys
Another nice buy . Your getting good at it now lads . Buy cheap and sell reasonably is the best way to be and at the end of the day you make a decent living out of it. Fair play to you.
As you have said its a case of buy them repair them to the best Standard possible which after watching so many of your Videos is as good if not better than new you need to get them in done turned around and out the gate no use pricinc so high you have cars sat around for months or you will soon run out of space and cash to to more cars ( as rod says often sorry about the waffle lol
Another great video lads and a great little car. Ayden is fantastic and you are very fortunate to have the use of his skills. I really like your idea of selling it ! keep uptime good work guys.
Quality video today this is something totally different and I hope people put in sensible bids used 2 ain’t out to rob anyone just an honest days work for an honest days pay. Keep up the good work fellas
If it needed a new battery a while back, I'd guess the battery in the boot was given to the previous owner or bought in error. I agree with others, they are either dead, in jail or have good reasons not to be found. Love the blind bid idea too. Think it is a great idea for things like this.
Key guy is worth every penny ...knowledge and experience ...always wins the day 😊
What a lovely humble guy Aidan comes across as, that alongside the expertise.

I do enjoy the segments with Ayden it's fascinating to see him work his magic.
Whatever Aiden charges, it's not enough. His skill is priceless.
Chaps the glow plugs are used when it does a regen for dpf cleaning

Pity about people who don’t do instagram innit!
That autel you have can do a DPF regen. 40 min to an hour to complete. 1.6TDI known for clogging up when to many short runs
My first car (Honda CRV Mk2) the road tax was £375, a year later it went up to £395. Paid in full for 12 months. Why wouldn’t you pay £20. Crazy
500 + 20 =too much. who do they still owe whilst they walk

Someone has loved that at some point, looks slightly lowered too, non standard wheels and the aero stuff on the body.
Rather a sad tale boys , or at least rather baffling . Thanks both .
Put half a tank in and make sure its doing a regen. Is the AC working, some wont do a regen without working AC.
Original batteries on VAG, Mercedes and BMW have manufacturing date stamped on the negative post.
Glowplugs are used for dpf regens as well as cold starting on this modern stuff.

Glow plugs are sometimes related to dpf
Are you sure it’s a DPF fault light and it’s not trying to do a regen? It wouldn’t regen if the glow plugs are shot. Might be why it was parked up.
