Tell Jonah that my mother's first batch of biscuits were so bad that her dad put them in a jar and used them as a doorstop for years. She became one of the best cooks around. You don't learn anything new by being right.

You could maybe use a single hot wire across the water (ala Greg Judy) to both keep them out and train them to a single wire. Sheep too maybe? A single wire could make your life easier in the future?

Maybe you can put the water up higher, and have it where there is a drain that goes in the ground or to a flower bed maybe

Do not use your vacuum on drywall dust it will burn the motor out. check with store you bought it from if filter is made for drywall.dust !
