The city of edmonton in alberta is suing an ev company by the name of proterra based in california for 82 million dollars for providing faulty ev busses and false range estimates.
Proterra declared bankruptcy, so Edmonton is unlikely to see a penny. Volvo Trucks acquired Proterra's battery business. Nikola already had the fiasco of using batteries from Romeo Power for its battery Tre trucks, acquiring the company to avoid its supplier going bankrupt, finding out Romeo Power was a scam company, and liquidating it for pennies: and then four trucks caught fire so all ~380 Tre trucks are sitting outside the factory in Arizona.

It's very simple. Anyone with even a basic understanding of math and science will look at the kWhs required per mile traveled of HFCVs vs BEVs and how expensive and energy intensive it is to produce, transfer, and store hydrogen to realize it is a dead end and always will be. Investing in hydrogen is a trap for the stupid.
There is no new technology here - fuel cells , electric motors etc. have been around for decades. It should not have been difficult to establish the basic workability of this kind of proposed design. At least to the level of what could be written on a cocktail napkin.
Converting a diesel truck to hydrogen is a worthwhile 2-year project for the engineering school of a 2nd-tier university. But a very expensive vehicle refueled at non-existent hydrogen stations with extremely expensive fuel never made economic sense as the basis for a startup. Just more Hydrogen Economy™ hype.
What I don't understand is that it seems no one was able to make a truck that runs on hydrogen. You can run engines on hydrogen so it is doable. OFC the issue becomes more about cost, support etc. But I don't get why, with all of that investment capital, they could not manage to at least retrofit an existing truck to run on hydrogen. WTF? Could it be that none of these companies ever actually intended to produce anything?
What is this hype with hydrogen trucks? As I know, fuel cell buses, cars and trucks exist since over 40 years and companies like Hyundai produce these in there regular production series. Are those investors so uninformed?
In short: yes. Whenever it comes to anything technological, assume that most investors don't even know how to start their own pcs without help. Especialy when basic physics and chemistry tells you that they are an inherently inferior product, which caanot be overcome.
i work for a company called vistar which is owned by PfG and we literally have a couple of hyzon trucks on the road i would say they started driving them very recently like a month ago we are located in fontana ca they had news crew to show off a bit
The way to do a hydrogen truck right is to increase the size of the battery that it needs to compensate for low fuel cell power, to the point that it doesn't need wimpy fuel cells nor extremely expensive hydrogen from a non-existent refueling network. Hydrogen is dead for land transportation, It can't compete with battery vehicles that are cheaper to buy and much cheaper to operate.
Pretty much yes. I mean, why else would you go public in a way specifically designed to circumvent normal regulations? It's a bit like a loan shark. If you have collateral you can post, why would you not just go to a normal bank that is happy to have your business?
All of them, except the Trump one, he is a super honest skilled businessman who would never engage in fraud and have his university shut down, his charity shut down, get fined $350 million dollars for fraudulent business practices by the state of New York…
That 550 km range actually isn't so bad in the Netherlands, where it's enough to get you from anywhere to anywhere else. A road journey from Maastricht (far south of the country) to Maastricht (far north) is about 350 km.
I like how their original customer map at 3:53 even has a note at the bottom which basically says "We made all of this up, none of these companies actually bought anything from us directly". SPAC-mania really did make investors completely blind to the obvious, didn't it?
I’d like to see a video explaining the difficulties of powering vehicles with hydrogen field cells. It seems they tend to constantly crash and burn and no one seems to be the wiser.

Then Nikola found out Romeo was losing hundreds of thousands of dollars on each battery pack it built. Nikola liquidated Romeo Power for pennies on the dollar in July 2023, less than a year later. The con artists at Nikola got conned by their own supplier! Now Proterra, Nikola's battery supplier for the hydrogen Tre, has declared bankruptcy. Presumably Volvo trucks will cancel Nikola's battery orders, the same way Nikola did to other EV makers. Wake up, this company is a joke run by clowns.

No it doesn't. The trucks are even more expensive than battery electric trucks, and the fuel is way more expensive. A battery electric fleet has the potential to be cheaper than diesel, hydrogen will never be.
Storage of hydrogen and creation of hydrogen (which needs energy and infrastructure) also the fuel cell efficiency are some of the road blocks. I mean the science is there but engineering and Economic viability of the whole concept is still debatable
I can’t believe so many people bought into the EV craze. EV are good for one thing only. Short commutes to work in warmer climates. Otherwise they are proving to be very problematic.
ridiculous that this happened again. though i thought nikola was an electric truck company, not hydrogen? either way, i don't understand why every single car manufacturer is so obsessed with making EVs, because 1, they're just as or worse for the environment because of the lithium 2 they have terrible range, not to mention require a TON of infrastructure to be put in. and 3, they're exorbitantly expensive because of the high production and material costs. whereas, hydrogen powered vehicles, the fuel can be made cheaply and pretty easy. once you use hydrogen, it combines with oxygen in the atmosphere to produce water, AND current gas stations could very easily be turned into hydrogen fueling stations, and it could even be a way to produce more jobs as someone would definitely need to do the fueling for you, since hydrogen is volatile like propane if done improperly it's clearly the more beneficent and cost effective way to go forward yet companies are blinded by electricity like idiots
A very biased video with some self interests built in. Both Nikola and Hyzon are making good progresses later. Both are delivering to customers with revenues, and running long distances with real world load. Were the trucks running on diesel, if not hydrogen? Battery cannot sustain that far distances.

I'm thinking there's no way someone could be worse than Trevor Milton.
0:40 BS!, Trevor Milton is NOT serving any time , he is free on bail pending his appeal of the sentence.
Also they stated the Fuel cells were made in USA or Europe, everything was made in China
4:03 70% of the time it works every time
From worst to FIRST!!!
Milton got 4 years and kept the money.. a giga Chad
Awesome thanks
Before i watch this. At least he didn't name his brand after a guy.
Looking at you, Edison Moters.
This video was more about Nikola than Hyzon. 😳
If its worse at being a scam, its actually a better company though.
NkLA have turn around with new ceo . Have delivery to end customer. NkLA have truck running around the port Long Beach and canada. Plus hydrogen station coming on line . 10 this years and up to 60 stations by 2026 . Need to tell the whole story not just the pass negativity.
Bull. Shit.
Four of Nikola's battery trucks caught fire and 380 of them are sitting in the desert. It will lose money on every hydrogen truck it sells, and lose even more money supplying the hydrogen. It doesn't have enough cash to survive.
@@skierpage It faulty battery pack from Romeo not NKL truck. Every oem have recall . Tsla have battery fire too and still In business. NkLA now are sent back the BE start end of March Back out with new battery pack from CALT . All good. 👍
@@michaelphothong2252 Nikola bought Romeo Power for $144M in August 2022. It canceled battery orders from other EV makers who sued.
How do people think these schemes won’t eventually blow up?
They genuinely believe that if they can just keep faking it until they have a working product and then rush that out the door it’ll be fine
And they’re usually “in too deep” before they start to doubt and by then…. It’s do or die
Lol from masterworks to moomoo, now bespoke…. Lmao
I'm beginning to think UA-cam sponsorships are just as much a red flag as SPAC IPOs.
I swear there hydrogen tryck companies are like, designed to fail embarassingly, starting to suspect its a seyup by the legacy teyck comoanies and Tesla. "See? I told you hydrogen is dumb and a scam. Now, do you want the 100 mile range tesla semi or the 150 tesla semi super?"
I keep seeing videos of people shilling these stocks, I honestly don’t get it.
For some reason I find fat businessmen untrustworthy
love this cold open lol
Heineken is made in Greenland?
It’s not funny but I still can’t help laughing every time I hear of Nikolas fraud by pretending they had a “working truck by rolling it down a hill”. I’ve cry laughed over it at least once. I love business so much, it has the most consistent oddball wild characters and stories in human form
Hydrogen makes sense for large scale fleets for long distances. Its weird that they just wont partner with Japanese manufacturers
I was thinking that too.
Why would they need to partner with Japan when the U.S has other hydrogen companies🙄
No it doesn't. The trucks are even more expensive than battery electric trucks, and the fuel is way more expensive. A battery electric fleet has the potential to be cheaper than diesel, hydrogen will never be.
@@skierpagecheaper but much less effective
@@yankees29 You are dreaming if you think truck companies will pay 3x more in operating costs to save an hour a day in recharging.
Someone must be hyzon something to do this again
Bohls sounds a lot like Bocce
That guy got a sweet deal I wonder how much money he has left probably billions
I wonder when Mullen Automotive would be next. A lot of investors have lost their life savings
With the amount of dumb government money, I'm surprised any of the green companies end up not being frauds.
Fool me can get fooled again🤣😱🤦♂
Why is it that hard to build a hydrogen truck? Get an electric one but install a fuel cell instead of a battery
Storage of hydrogen and creation of hydrogen (which needs energy and infrastructure) also the fuel cell efficiency are some of the road blocks. I mean the science is there but engineering and Economic viability of the whole concept is still debatable
Isn't there another company that is saying they are going to revolutionize the trucking industry? Just saying.....
They should just go into crypto scams and keep it on the low

You know what I mean?

No clue🙄
Every stock I owned for the EVs or the alternative drive technology has become Penny stock now lost over 10k € in stock within just 2 years
Let me guess. You also still think the climate con is real and we are all going to die in 20 years if we keep using fossil fuels right?
S&P 500 is your friend. Buy VOO
I can’t believe so many people bought into the EV craze. EV are good for one thing only. Short commutes to work in warmer climates. Otherwise they are proving to be very problematic.
you should see what happened to CYA
ridiculous that this happened again. though i thought nikola was an electric truck company, not hydrogen?
either way, i don't understand why every single car manufacturer is so obsessed with making EVs, because
1, they're just as or worse for the environment because of the lithium
2 they have terrible range, not to mention require a TON of infrastructure to be put in.
and 3, they're exorbitantly expensive because of the high production and material costs.
whereas, hydrogen powered vehicles, the fuel can be made cheaply and pretty easy. once you use hydrogen, it combines with oxygen in the atmosphere to produce water, AND current gas stations could very easily be turned into hydrogen fueling stations, and it could even be a way to produce more jobs as someone would definitely need to do the fueling for you, since hydrogen is volatile like propane if done improperly
it's clearly the more beneficent and cost effective way to go forward yet companies are blinded by electricity like idiots
My favorite president quote lol
Do one about LUCID motors
Remember to revisit your amazing videos on btc and el salvador crashing….. 🥴
They are only up 200 million
Update video on BTC please. New ATH of 72k since your video saying it wasn’t worth anything
Boules is French for balls lol looks like that's a bocce ball set with a different name
The game is called pétanque in France. But played in a boulodrome terrain.
Realy popular game in the south
A very biased video with some self interests built in. Both Nikola and Hyzon are making good progresses later. Both are delivering to customers with revenues, and running long distances with real world load. Were the trucks running on diesel, if not hydrogen? Battery cannot sustain that far distances.
BOULES???? It's Pétanque!!!
Trevor Fraud Meltdown Milton to PRISON ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Every Vegan I know looks like this guy
I haven't eaten meat in over 35 years, doesn't make me less dangerous to humans. Preconceived notions are mostly inaccurate, always lazy.
Fuuck 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
hey, three times is the charm, right?
Dude in thumbnail needs to rethink the image he is projecting. First impressions!!
Edit: to say in case someone actually reads this.. I like WsM & kudos to the host, will go far I'm certain. So this comment is not intended to be mean, just plain speaking.
At first I assumed it (the thumbnail image) was WsM hisself (after a bad night in the drunktank??).
Then thought maybe it's one of the dimwitted protagonists of the titular company??
But generally confused.
Unless there's a good marketing reason to wave your face around, best avoided.
But if it's a face reveal today, sadly disappointed after hearing such a perfect voiceover & seeing great visuals for months. Quality in brand presentation is discordant.
Edit: to clarify, top flight presentation would mean a luxe studio background, clothing, posture & expression to match the million dollar mindset.
Without getting too personal and with the best intentions, losing a few pounds and getting a shave wouldn't do any harm either!
Vinfast is the same house of cards.
