Not sure why people go on about the crowds at these types of gigs. What are the crowd meant to do? Break out into a mosh pit. Its the bbc for god sake, I've been lucky enough to go to a few of these and you get what can only be described as an health and safety lesson from some bbc employee
@connorp1995 I saw them support Muse at Wembley a couple of months back, what a fucking INCREDIBLE night of live music that was! Muse edged it, but perhaps only because they played for longer!
well he has it high now!and the guy from twin atlantic has it high too!thats the two scottish bands i know and that the two only guitarists i've seen to hold guitars so high so i think my question is pretty reasonable!
it's mainly just a preference, soem guitarists like to hold them high others low its to do with genres and ease of playing. If you need to look at what you are playing its easier holding high. Also means you can strum closer to the base of the guitar giving a different sound. Its not just them who do it, tonnes of bands do it arctic monkeys hold them high (well they used to)
Just a personal preference thing. Works best for him. Usually though its so you can have more control over/see what you're doing. Lot of their songs have weird chord voicings, riffs and stuff. Probs just so he can see what he's playing whilst singing, which would be harder with it hanging with the janglies :)
oh okay!i thought that this was something like "the scottish guitar playin style" but i guess its just random...thanx anw for answering!sorry for sayin "can i get an actual answer" xD

Now I know for sure that a good part of the problem with the new biffy albums really is the sound. This is so much better.

That was an actual answer, XD theres no set reason that they all seem to, its just the way the individual people hold them.
What's a spum readysteady?? Simon is sweaty and that's not a bad thing..
why all the scottish guitarists hold their guitars so high?:O
He can strike his guitar harder aswell when he's playing
