You can also saw one line at a time for even better control: 1) start with the top line and cut only about 1/16" deep next to the pencil line 2) slowly drop the handle while sawing and follow the line facing you; the saw tracks in the top kerf 3) turn the piece around and repeat step 2 That's how I got it taught and it really is a good technique imo.
