I lost my beloved Billy earlier this year. He was a monster of an orange tabby, big, friendly, cuddly and a talker. He was a good friend.
Awww. So very sorry to hear David. I too lost my beloved beautiful blonde kiity named Summer. He passed unexpectedly at the vets office on Jan 5, 2021. Still cant believe it! I feel his spirit is here esp in his older & younger brother Ginger & Beauty.
They ALWAYS take a piece of your heart with them to Heaven. 💜💜
My heart goes out to you, I lost my precious little ginger girl last year. She was my angel of mercy
My he hunt in Starclan
@jupe77 Catlovers know what you mean. God bless you. I'm sorry for your loss.
We lost our sweet Renegade a couple years ago. He was so sweet and smart and funny
Another film star is Jonesy, one of the two survivors in "Alien". :-)
First one I think of. Hard to find, but there’s a great short story of the Nostromo from his point of view. “My Day by Jones”
Mr. Jumpscare
My ginger is named after Jonesy
And the only character other than Ripley to be in more than one film
I didn't see your comment so I also wrote about Jonesy
Everyone needs a ginger kitty.
I got one, he’s snuggled up on me right now. I love him and he brings me joy
I just lost my red boy on the 29th. I had him from 4 weeks old (approx) until his last breath at 17 years 1 month. He was my “Velcro kitty”. Followed me everywhere and always had to be touching me. Both when he was sleeping and when I was sleeping. He only came to me. He was scared of everyone but me. I am broken without him. 🍁🐈🧡
I am so sorry for your loss, Losing a pet is devastating, but you'll always have the memories.
I am so sorry for your loss, Losing a pet is devastating, but you'll always have the memories.
My best guess is, if you're a Christian, you'll be back together with your Velcro Kitty and best friend when you get to Heaven. Seriously.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I also had Garfield since that age. He's eight. Getting older and portly but the biggest lover. He worships me and has made me a cat person lol

I just inherited my late grandmother’s two orange boys. I was raised by both her and my grandfather, who passed when I was in HS. The grief is still hard but it’s so much easier with these two sweet souls. Literally the affectionate cats I’ve ever met.
Had a female orange tabby for 19+ years. Was intrigued to learn that only about 20% of orange tabbies are female. I always thought "Butterscotch" (yes, that was her name, she was the same color as butterscotch candy, LOL) was special and now I'm glad to have some validation of that! Still miss her after nine years.
I have an orange female whose litter of 3 had only 1 male! Rare indeed!
One of my black cats is a secret ginger. When he's laying in the sun his coat shines orange under the black. He also has the typical laid back ginger personality❤️. Shout out to my sweet Tay!
Someone once told me that many "black" cats have patterns under their menaline-rich fur. I have found this to be true as several of my kitties who were black in appearance would show stripes and a dark chocolate brown color in the sunlight.
@@AlbredaWelde
Yes my black cat is orange in the sun to
You forgot the most famous Orange tabby of all Morris the cat
That's right. I was checking to see if anyone else had noticed this oversite!
Also Garfield and the big brute Heathcliff
@@verntoews6937 Garfield is definitely better known today than either Morris or Heathcliff
@@MaximumCarne I agree, Garfield best known, he even likes lasagna
@@verntoews6937 mmmm lasagna. Now I’m getting hungry 🤤
I have a female orange tabby. She is very sweet and loves to go around the room, greeting all of our guests individually when we have company. That is her nice, polite act for the public. Even the vet tech at our veterinarians office said that "she is such a sweet cat". The truth is that she is a Diva and a bully to my other cats! She's a little monster but we love her anyway.
Awww! It's always the ones you least expect! Lol.
I have a little monster also. Adopted him as a 2 month old who was abandoned. Lavished love and affection on him from day 1 and started attacking my 3 year old cat when he became a teenager. We still love him like crazy and it has taken extreme patience and loving scolding. He is very smart and understands. Gradually improving a little at a time.....
Patience, love, and training will succeed.
The females are sweet kitties. I have one.
Mind too!
they are rare
I had two ginger brothers called Oscar and Ambrose. They died several years ago now, but I still miss them so much.
I had a ginger named Marmalade died of a hypoglycemic seizure in 2018 at age 12. Tore my heart out. I miss the little stinker.
Three facts not mentioned.
1. The Vikings were particularly fond of ginger tabbies, and you can still trace Viking settlements in the UK by the high percentage of marmalade moggies in the area.
2. "Tabby" cats were named after a particular sort of watered silk, called "atabi". According to John Aubrey, prior to the introduction of tabby cats from Cyprus*, cats in England were a "spotted or gallipot blew".
*("Pussy cat" is a corruption of Cyprus, or "prussy" cat)
3. I have owned black, buff tabby and torties, as well as a ginger cat, and can say, hand on heart, that gingers are the Best Cats in the World, affectionate, playful and with a highly developed sense of humour.
Wow! That's so cool. I live in a part of the UK vikings settled. I will never look at orange tabbys the same way!
@@FreakShowTae My source is John Aubery's "Brief Lives". Written during the 17th century, published posthumously in 1697. Aubery was a Fellow of the Royal Society, hung out with Newton, Locke, Hobbes, Pepys, Evelyn etc.
I *highly* recommend the Penguin edition of Brief Lives: a wonderful read!
As a Cypriot, I highly doubt that is a legit fact.
@@FreakShowTae Well, I'm quoting a Fellow of the Royal Society. If you can cite a similarly reputable authority for the source of your disbelief, I might revise my opinion.
Interesting my orange tabby his name is Odin lol he’s definitely the bringer or destruction.
You forget Bob from A street cat named Bob.
And of cause Marmalade from Cole and Marmalade !
Rest in peace, Bob, you were a beautiful kitty.
Wait, Bob is dead!?
@@piretiris8223 So is Cole…❤❤🐈⬛❤❤
My sweet orange girl passed away a week ago. I had her for eleven years and she was the best companion I could have asked for. She wasn't much of a lap cat, but she loved to cuddle and was unfailingly loyal and smart, she knew how to pull pranks and understood how mirrors worked. I'll always miss my little Nala.
I'm sorry for your loss :( I recently adopted an 11-year-old female longhair ginger who has health issues but I love her so much anyways. She's my first cat, so I do spoil her a bit, but I also take her of her to the best of my ability!
I had my "Moxie " for about 10 years.
She wasn't much for sitting in laps and didn't like to be held BUT she was a motorboat with the loudest purr!!
She followed me everywhere and greeted me EVERYDAY when I came home from work. She had no problem exposing her belly, falling on floor, giving me bathroom time, etc. She would extend her arms and make air biscuits when my rubbing was really hitting the spot.
Lol
She was my girl and even now more than 10 years after losing her I still think of and miss her love.
Love you, my Moxie
I have the sweetest marmalade boy who adopted me when I went to the shelter. He called to me when I was walking past his run to get to the kittens. What could I do? I went in for a female kitten and left with a 10 year old Tom. The cat chooses the human!
You went with your heart and your intuition. Beautiful story. Your cat loves you more than you know! 😻😍
Wonderful story 😍
Great that you adopted an older cat❤️
My buff boyo showed up at my doorstep last fall, I live at the bottom of a 3 mile deadend with very few neighbors. I have no idea where he came from but he choose my home. Sweetest boyo. He must have been absolutely adorable as a kitten. Well trained house cat that loves catting around outside. Won't use the litterbox but uses the great outdoors all seasons. If he sees me pull up, he will run from where ever he is to greet me. Sleeps at my feet every night. He slides his paws up and down my door to come in. He's a copycat and now drinks out of my toilet just like my little tuxedo fatty.
@@shirleyn546 That's how I feel, rescue cats make the best cats, especially when they are older.
There’s also Milo from “The Adventures of Milo and Otis”.
Good one! :)
I was waiting for him to say that too!
The cat from the movie Alien
Yes, I love Milo. One of my former co-workers named her tabby after Milo.
Yes that’s my orange boys name
My second cat was a ginger named Harley. Yes, he was named after the Harley-Davidson motorcycles-even when he was a kitten, he had a purr you could hear clear across the room, to the point where my husband said “he sounded like a Harley-Davidson stuck in neutral!” We had thought he was female due to his genital structure, but the vet then thought he was a hermaphrodite due to it not looking like either one. It wasn’t until we had him fixed that he was determined once and for all to be male (they neutered him, and also performed a spay incision just to make sure he didn’t have a uterus lurking around inside too). Good thing the name we gave him was gender-neutral! But he was an absolute sweetie-he was a consummate lapaholic, and he loved to cuddle up to us in the bed at night. But we HAD to have our hand out for him to cuddle up with-if we dared to keep our hands under the covers, he’d give us a smack in the face with his paw to get our attention and demand to see our hand! He crossed over 12 years ago due to a combination of diabetes and several infections relating to that-I miss him, but the three cats I have now fill the hole in my heart.
RIP Harley. 1998-2009
My folks had a similar tabby cat when I was a kid in the 70's. He/she was a stray and got preggers. Well they were gifted with a litter of kittens soon after and when it was time for the big clip, he/she went to the vet. Vet was firmly convinced said cat was male, but my parents insisted...no, said cat was female, there's a litter of kittens at home to prove it. Cat barely stuck around long enough to wean the kids, stitches were still in when it took off. Not a big purrer like yours though.
My ginger boy is the most affectionate and smartest cat I've ever had
Orange tabbies were also favored by the Norse. They were considered lucky, especially on sea voyages.
Cats kept mice under control on ships, which probably meant the crews had more food to eat, making them healthier and stronger, more able to weather challenges met on their voyage. But, I'll accept lucky, too. :-)
@@mb-cee140 Yes, it's certainly lucky to have food to eat.
Yes, I have an orange cat, and he used to be a mouser. 😄🐈
@@kamilebrahimoff3589 Sounds like a good kitty! I'm sure you miss him.
I adopted a year old little girl from the shelter. I was looking for my missing grey tabby at the time. Sally and I just had this connection immediately and I took her home. She was a character and loved company but was sassy too. She loved to sleep on my face and give my nightly massages. She loved her little foamy ball toys. She was diagnosed with breast cancer last August. She had surgery and was doing great but it came back very aggressively. Dec. 2 we had to say goodbye after 9 years. I miss her so much and still she her in her favorite napping spot.
Oh no!! I have never heard of a cat developing breast cancer! I’m so sorry for your loss. 😥
A friend has a one yr old orange girl with teeth issues. stomatitis....
I think the females arent as healthy?
The most famous orange tabby of all time is GARFIELD.
He's got the attitude. That path's been crossed before though.
I disagree. There is an orange tabby that he did not list that I feel is more famous that the others combined. Morris
What about Morris the cat of nine lives cat food?
A Street Cat Named Bob was world famous. He was a ginger tabby.
@@dennismokry258 Totally. We can never forget Morris-The-Cat.

My orange tabby is sent to me from heaven. He’s so sweet and loving, and it’s like he knows my thoughts and feelings.
Yes! This is how I think too! They are all gifts from God Himself and we are to treat them as such. All of them, gingers, blondes, orange/red tabbies, tuxedos, disabled kitties too.
True, I think that about my orange tabby male and female too
I lost my exceptional red Tabby almost 20 yrs ago, now.
She really was like no other and I KNEW that God put her directly into my life!
I could go on and on about her. Her markings were remarkable and she was a true red, tuxedo tabby.
She understood what I was saying to her and followed commands. Funniest, smartest ànd most confident cat I have ever known.

I love my Siamese but Ginger tabbies really are the most affectionate cats. They all are confirmed head butters and purring machines. Don't know why.
My ginger tabby has a Siamese parent. Affectionate, but vocally demanding...
@@jameschan1791 best of both worlds :)
Can attest, that my cat "Tom" is an affectionate head butter too and purrs non stop when he's around me and strangers. Simply put...my ginger tabby is awesome.
Yes, Siamese are very talkative! But they aren't mean like some people believe. Our orange kitty hardly ever talks, unless he wants something. (He has us "trained"! 😊)
I've had at least two ginger tabbies in my life, both boys. Merlin was brought home with his brother Macgyver (they were full blooded brothers, although Macgyver was black and long-haired), and he lived with us until after we moved in next to our grandparents place. Then he started wandering around and we found that he was visiting an older lady down the street, and he gradually started staying longer and longer until he eventually left completely, only coming back to our place for pets every few months. He made her so happy, and he always walked with a swagger, a big happy belly, and a fancy collar.
Russet came to us a few years ago after my family and I moved to Kentucky. It was three days after I lost my calico cat, and I was sitting next to where we buried her at night when I heard meowing from across the street. No joke, my first thought was that my beloved calico had come back to me, but instead, it was a thin, friendly ginger tabby boy. I fed him and he stuck around, he's a brother to my two other cats, a menace to the rodents in the pastures, and an absolute lover boi who will sit on you and purr. I love all my kitties, and each has quite the story to tell. Sry about the long post, have a potato 🥔.
I am proud to be the fur mom to an uncommon female orange tabby! She is smart, sweet, and loving. She also has fur as soft as a bunny's!
Our first was named “Mr. Fred Rogers” - because he was so friendly and came to our neighborhood .... he was a stray! He was a treasure and the sweetest most loving cat I’ve ever known. He passed away and now we have Louie, Louie - another lover ... with streaks of orneriness .... how we love him too!
I have red Fred too! Super loving. I walked into HS and he was last cat to be euthanized. Cat no 4. No regrets.
@@lolawalsh9187 how wonderful for you and Fred! We miss our Fred everyday! Enjoy him, as I know you do and will.
@@papabear2515I also had a Fred, not a ginger cat, but a friendly soul. Sadly, I was moving and couldn't take him with me. He was so gentle.
I absolutely loved Orion...we have a family tradition that when we have an orange tabby, his name is always "Pete".
There’s also Jonesy from Alien and the cat in the movie “The Three Lives of Thomasina”.
I have 10 cats. One of them is a ginger and white rescue. All my cats are affectionate but he is the most loving of them all. He's the last cat I see at night, snuggled up to me purring loudly and the first cat I see in the morning, his face pushed into mine and a paw gently patting me.
I LOVE your experiences with 10 cats.WOW!!
and what a glorious waking up..🥰
Aww I'm happy to hear this because I was blessed with 2 male gingercats! Tigger and Lucky! 😺❤😺
You missed Heifcliff in that orange cat list. I just got an orange tabby who was a stray in my neighborhood. My neighbor is a huge animal lover. He was a wild cat for the first year of his life till she caught him. She took him to the vet to get him his shots and looked at. From living outside for a year he can be a bit rambunctious at times. Looking for mice. But he's fixed now and has calmed down a bit more. He only sits in my daughters lap. Hes most attached to her and my youngest son. He is warming up to the rest of us. But cant wait till he will let me hold him on my lap someday.
Also forgot about Morris!
Heathcliff*
He also missed Oliver from Oliver & Company! But to be fair, there’s a lot of famous ginger tabbies.
I love my orange tabby! He’s so loving and loves other cats! He always lays on your lap when you’re sick.
About a month ago an orange tabby kitten showed up in my yard. He's always getting himself slapped around by the older neighborhood cats. He won't eat cat snacks- every time I hold a snack out for him he rubs his face against it wanted to be petted.
Awww, if he wants to be petted, I wonder if he belongs to someone. If he'll let you hold him, you should consider taking him to the vet to see if he has a microchip.
@@ThePurringJournal I suspect that the animal belongs with my neighbors next door. They have a habit of bringing new kittens home and then either throwing them out, or they stay inside with dogs and bratty children long enough to get too mean to handle. The same day that the orange kitten showed up in my yard, my neighbors had a black kitten of about the same age. I haven't seen the black kitten since, so I suspect he's being kept locked up.
@@christianpatriot7439 Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that. If I were you, I would anonymously report it.
@@ThePurringJournal Where I live animal control won't get involved before 2 different neighbors lodge complaints.
@@christianpatriot7439 We're so sorry to hear that.
Here's also interesting, Morris from 9-Lives Cat Food, and Mimsie from MTM Logo from the 70's and 80's, if you look at shows like Mary Tyler Moore, Newhart and WKRP, You look at the production logo with a meow .
Legend says the "roar" of the MTM cat is actually the cat yawning played backwards.
Orange Tabby’s are the BEST 🥰 they are spunky, affectionate, playful, and loyal. I’ve had several in my lifetime.
I have an orange Tabby boy. He’s so sweet, I love him a lot. Thank you for this video. God bless you.
I worked in cosmetic retail and a customer of mine one day told me that I have an orange cat that follows me around wherever I go. She was psychic. But i didn’t know that until after i asked her how she knew that (about this shadow cat). She must have been talking about my beloved ginger Jacoby. He was 13 when he died. I loved him so much.

One of the descriptions of Jesus is the Lion of Judah. Tells you where cats are on God's priority list. I love all cats, big and small.
@@ThePurringJournal I did not know that abt baby Jesus! Now, I am going to look for the "M" marking on my cats forehead today. Are blonde cats part of the orange family too?
@@ThePurringJournal With baby Jesus, it could be an.orange cat with the "M" marking or a tabby (tiger) darker like chocolate color tabby that comforted him as well, correct?
I love orange kitties. Well, all kitties really.
I just got a 12 week old Egyptian Mau tabby and she (yes, she) has absolutely taken so well to the family. We're a family with four children and a disabled uncle living with us, I was a little nervous about her having so many people around. She had a week just with me and the uncle, then the kids and mom came home, and she's taken to everyone so well.
Right now she's standing next to the stairs yelling at me because it's bed time.
I had a orange cat when I was a kid. He was so sweet! He was adorable with strangers. But I have a soft spot for Tuxies & black cats, which I’ve shared my home with for 40 years now.
So sweet! 😺 All cats are amazing in their own way. ❤
Me too, black is beautiful !
But for now I share my home with ginger cat and a gray tabby cat.
I dont care about the colour, but i always need to have cats around me, just love them so much.
Robert A Heinlein quote; "A home without a cat is just a house'", though he may of just been repeating a saying he heard before the book he put it in.
I have three orange tabbies in my life, my male Maine coon, Sally, and my grandma's two kitties (boy and girl siblings) Honey and Gigi. Their first birthday is coming up too, and so is Sally's tenth.
Did you forget one of the most famous orange cats: Morris of 9-lives fame?
Our neighbor has an orange tabby that comes to visit all the time. He is such a sweetie pie!
I found all of the facts most interesting, I adore Orange Tabbys, all of my cats have been them. They're incredibly affectionate, every one of them has a very special place in my heart 🤗 💞🥰💕
Don't forget Tonto from "Harry and Tonto". I cried a little watching this. My beloved orange tabby Liam crossed the rainbow bridge 4 years ago. I have another tabby now, a pale amber girl I've named Lily. I love her and she's good company but Liam will always be the cat of my heart. I miss him so much.
Orange bois are almost always the sweetest bois I've found. 🥰
My orange tabby is a boy called Charlie. His markings are completely symmetrical all over. He's puuuuurfect! 😽
There's a very sweet (but timid) ginger cat that lives across the street from me. The cat visits me once in a while. The cat hunts voles and mice in the tall grass in a nearby field. I hope the cat never gets hit crossing the road.
Hi, I have a 5 yr old orange boy named Moishe, he & his sister was dumped on me 4 yrs ago , I’m a pet sitter & they never picked them up, now they are very sweet, his sister is a tortishell, he gets in arguments with her all the time , I guess the dear Lord knew the best place for them would be with me , Moishe never leaves me , unless he is outside for a little while trying to catch butterflies. 🐈
@@sandygerdes770 Moishe and his sister sound like an adorable duo. Yes, God wanted those kitties to be with you. I used to have an orange tabby named Comet who has since passed away but was a great companion. I now have (according to you) a gray ticked tabby with tuxedo white markings named Biggles who is very handsome. In your list of famous orange tabby cats you left out my new favorite (upstaging Garfield) Bob, from the movie A Streetcat Named Bob.

My boy is quite a hunter! He is also very persistent and vocal. I love how he snuggles with me..like..he thinks I'm the cat's meow😉
I liked learning about their freckles. We tend to worry about changes like these, so it's great to know it's totally natural and healthy. Thank you. 😸
That's the legend I've heard and love. I always refer to my cats as orange, I live in the USA. My friends from England refers to them as Ginger.
How could you leave out Tonto from Harry and Tonto?
My orange boy was the best company I could ever have. Super intelligent and super sweet. We had hundreds of voyages together on my boat. I miss the evenings of snacks together and exploring islands. Rest in peace old buddy.
You forgot Morris!
Our big orange tabby would have been 25 years old, but left us due to cancer five months before his birthday. He was a wonderful cat. A big and furry hunk of love. He is still very much missed to this day.
The cat in Breakfast at Tiffany's didn't have a name - the closest thing it had was "Cat" or "Cat Without a Name." It's a major, symbolic point. ❤️

Orange tabby cats are so adorable, my boy Stimpy was such a loving cuddly boy, he had such a sweet nature. I miss him so much x
They're also much bigger than their littermates, incredibly friendly and can sometimes be almost dog-like in their clumsiness. Incredibly lovely cats
I’ve had a brother and a sister since they were kittens (same litter,) and now they’re just a year old. The boy eats so much and seriously looks like a Maine coon. The female has always been a much smaller, whinier, the sweetest, comes when I call her. They’re just so unique I love it. Little girl just now came to lay on my chest. 🥰

It seems like my orange tabby 🐈 has no idea he’s a cat as he comes to you when addressed by name only, plays fetch and loves to get dirty lol
My ginger boy, Rusty, named after my ginger brother’s childhood nickname, so called because he had so many freckles my mom said he looked like he had been left out in the rain and rusted, has a very big, unique personality.
He’s quite talkative, especially in the middle of the night.
He loves to steal things, like a net bag of cutie tangerines off the kitchen counter and a large styrofoam cup with a straw in it. He also brings me pieces of mail and once managed to drag a small book into my room and left it for me. He also steals pens, pencils, socks, plastic grocery bags, unopened envelop packages, and magazines.
He climbs into and gets stuck in odd places, like under a very low dresser. I could hear him but couldn’t see him as he rowred his distress.
He’s extremely affectionate and jumps on my bed the second I lie down; he flops on his back with his arms and legs akimbo, purring loudly as I rub his belly.
He gets up in my face and gives me kisses on my eyes, nose and chin.
If he wants pets he sit next to me and pats my arm with soft paws and then slightly unsheathed claws if I don’t love him quickly enough.
He’s extremely jealous and gives the other cats a hard time if they get attention from me.
He’s a big scaredy cat at loud noises, especially fireworks, thunder and loud cars.
He’s the man and head of a household with myself, my small female dog and three other cats, all female.
He is a special little man and I adore him.
Forgot one famous cat from 9-Lives commercials from the 70’s to the 80’s. Morris!!
You forgot one other cat and it was Rhubarb. The movie was about the cat being the owner of the Brooklyn baseball team with Ray Maland.
Two orange babies, Bubba who is deep orange and his brother Thing who is more orange buff.
My boy Simon is an Orange Tabby. He's everyone's best friend and loves to be with people.
I think in the 60s there was an orange tabby cat called Marmalade, or Rhubarb. There was a beautiful Siamese cat that in moves back then. I've had cats all my life. I found, they found me, a little orange tabby female in the 70s. Grey tabby, orange male tabby named, yes, Tigger in the 90s. Black cats, black and white cats, all colors, mostly domestic shirt hairs. I love them. Cats❤ , one Calico too, female. Now I have, my favorite, Tuxedo Black &White cat, with big white paws, Timmy, Black & White female cat Bunny, and a Tortoiseshell colored female kitty. MEOW 🐱😻
I had an orange tabby named Rhubarb when I was a teen. When my family and I moved out of state decades ago, I couldn't take him with us because he was attached to the house. The new homeowners took him in.
The nickname Ginger works for my orange cat I had as there were times he would produce a smell like ginger (the spice). I loved that! Made me want to have ginger bread cookies.
The version, I heard, was that the M on some cats' foreheads was the initial for Mohammed who blessed them with a touch. It is also said that, once, a cat fell asleep on the sleeve of his robe. He was so reluctant to disturb the sleeping cat when he needed to move that, instead, he cut his sleeve off.
I'm a British, Northern European, 51 year old woman. Despite my generally Christian schooling - I've never heard the version where it was Jesus. Is this a particularly American idea? It doesn't matter. It's all folklore. The M shaped darker markings, above the eyes, have probably been evolutionarily selected for because they confer some sort of advantage. Perhaps it aids cats that have hunted under sunlight. I just find it curious that there are two versions doing the rounds.
That's very interesting! 😺 I'm not sure if the Christian version is mainly from the United States or not. We are born and raised in the U.S. and we have only heard of the Christian version. But I suspect there are more than just those two versions of the story out there. Also, you make a great point about the evolutionary advantage. That sounds totally possible! 🤔
I'm neither Christian or Muslim but I'd only heard the Mohammed legend from a book of cat legends. So, yes, the cat fits, it sleep is world wide!
I heard the Jesus version is from a Portugal folk tale
i've never heard either version. grew up catholic, but now christian. if jesus loves cats tha much, why do animals in the bible have no soul??
@@KittyLovesGlover They all have spirits. Right before my young cst Sweets suddenly passed away, I called her name "Sweets, Sweets!" and to my surprise her tail went up. I took it as she was crossing over and saw God.. She was only 1y & 4mos. She had coughed the day before this big cough, next day she seemed fine, went to sleep woke up and 8.5hrs later suddenly passed away. My vet thinks it was aspiration pneumonia from dry food that must have got stuck in her lungs or something. I was feeding Purina One Select with dry & soft pieces. Never again! I know more now very bad ingredients and only good quality wet food and now just starting to feed my cats freeze dried food. Its coming on 3yrs now that my little Sweets passed. She was small too, abt 4lbs, but solid and ultra soft. "Bunny" is her nickname bc her fur is/was extra soft. I hate usung past tense bc they are all "alive" in Heaven. Really cant believe it. I was devastated at the time bc it was so sudden & unexpected. She was fine on Monday and died suddenly Thurs night! (Aug 29, 2018)
Every single day is a gift from God! I always say cats are gifts from God. All pets. One time I felt in my spirit that my little cats had angel wings on them. I bet they do!
Pls adopt, foster or very easy pls share on Facebook any cats you or your Fb friends see who are in shelters and need homes. Most of my Fb friends can care less and are too self absorbed with their own lives. I'm talking abt being too selfish to share. As Christians we are supposed to turn from the ways of the world, turn away from being selfish and become selfless and help those in need, ppl & esp homeless pets. Always best to be kind to others esp pets in need.
God Bless and stay safe. We are all His children, furry ones too. ❤❤❤
After watching this video I feel very lucky to be owned by 3 orange girls. One was born here in my closet. One I got when I went to get my car windows tinted and the third one ran in my house this past December 27th when I opened the door to feed the outside strays. I absolutely love them all!
I have an orange tabby named Richard and he’s something. He’s quite smart whenever he wants to be fed or be let outside
The cat in Breakfast at Tiffany's is named Orangey but his character was just named "Cat". It was a huge plot point that illustrated Holly's unwillingness to settle down or commit to anything
Yes. Audrey Hepburn's character refused to name him because she said they were both nameless wanderers. In the movie she had given herself a name that was not her birth name and even had another alias for her jail visits.
Orangey was also in the movie Rhubarb ten years earlier, he won Patsy awards for both roles, It is the animal equivalent to the Oscar.
I hadn't heard how tabby cats got their M and I love the story. Ginger cats are awesome.
I once had a female orange tabby. Her name was Dinah. She just showed up at the back door one day and adopted my family. She was the grumpiest cat I ever had.
All of the information was totally appreciated. Thank you very much for helping us decide!!
You forgot to mention Morris...
I have two male cat - Muckl and Garfield - and one female Hermine. My 3 "rotfellchen". I love them so much
So cute! 3 is a magic number. :)
These videos just make you want all the kitties
TY for the good teaching about Yahushuah ben David, our Savior, and His mother Miriam (Mary) and the Orange Tabby Cat helping out keeping the infant warm. Wonderful!
As an extra-biblical and apocryphal legend, its veracity may be on par with Robin Hood, King Arthur, and the talking horse of Achilles in the Iliad.
How dare you leave out "HEATHCLIFF THE CAT"😾😾😾🙀🙀🙀
My little Roo was an orangey! She only weighed about 5 pounds. She's been gone for 5 years and I still miss her so much.
Very enlightening. Loved it!
Missing Jonesy from Alien; my ginger cat is named after him
Marmalade the Cat from Cole and Marmalade fame.
Yes!
My boy Vinnie is the most affectionate cat I have ever owned, I love him!
I have two long-haired orange tabbies. They are 11 year old siblings from the shelter. I don't think you can find more affectionate and loving fur babies. They like to watch TV with me and the male follows me around like a toddler. I love the stuffing out of them.
I can’t believe you left out Morris the cat which is the first one I thought of. He was made famous from appearing in the Purina cat food commercials. I think it was Purina.
Sorry....Nine Lives brand.
I am a new subscriber as of today. My favorite new cat fact about orange tabby's is the story of Jesus in the manger... I have not ever heard of that story in the Bible before and I will do some research on that but I still like this list a lot . Thank you
Welcome to our Cat Loving Community! 💖 I am not a theologian, but from what I understand, the "M" story is just a legend. 🐈 It is not in the Bible.
I just rescued three little orange tabbies, all girls, Misha, Pebel and Nina...they are all very sweet and afectionate.
When I was a teenager we had an "orange" cat named "DOOFUS", yes, he was a SILLY and ROMANTIC (with mom) cat. He moved in December 1st. 1975 and it only took him seconds to let two our other pets, a couple of dogs, WHO was the BOSS! Every once in awhile the older dog would give a look that said "it's a good thing Doofus is FAMILY....The younger dog LOVED having a new, younger playmate.
