I recently built a system for similar reasons and have fallen back in love with couch controller gaming! 5600x and a 6800xt in a Hyte Revolt 3 has been helping me get through my backlog of older single player games so performance is solid even at 4k.

Wow, that's a huge step to do YT full time at less than 5k subs. Hoping the best for you and keeping my fingers crossed. Keep up the quality content.

I still have a part time job. But eventually do want to make youtube my sole focus. Gonna hit the grind pretty hard here and see what happens!

loved the video! i think i have that same tepig plush.
this build i think would be a good build for someone on a tight budget, who just wants to play games with friends :)

I have found for slower paced single player games, it is much cheaper to stream to a chromecast, fire stick, etc. I used to have a pc in my living room, but being able to have one super strong pc that I can access around my entire home is a winner.

That is super interesting. I want to do a video on steam streaming to steam deck and other devices one the same network to see how it goes. Personally haven’t touched streaming so it will be interesting

@tech_evolved if you watch craftcomputing, their whole series on hosting your own cloud streaming platform got me into that myself, and with parsec and moonlight I have access to my home computer to play games wherever I go. I tried using steam link, but as soon as you have to use wifi it becomes unusable imo.

Hello, I never comment but I think you are definitely entertaining and can make it big on youtube. Just a little tip to make the video seem more professional, fun and interesting. Add a colored light or something behind you. The light straight on you feels kinda of dim and low but having 0 light behind you kinda makes the video dark and gloomy. Good luck

I'm supprised you didn’t try in home streaming/parsec/moonlight with like a gtx 1030 for the nvdec (8k h265) and hdmi 2.0.
If you are lucky enough to be some what close to your tv theres also fiberoptic hdmi cables.

I was thinking of sorta the same thing, a cheap 6th gen i5 HP mini and then like the cheapest 4TB m.2 drive i could find and just mount it to the back of the pc and run something off my phone to select movies to the tv.

Oh yeah, just for watching shows I would go super cheap

You can't make a HTPC build video without talking about the front end/user interface you're going to be using otherwise it's just a regular computer in a living room...

This is not an HTPC, Its a PC on your tv. You are gaming with it. A video card will draw alot of power.

You seem knowledgeable at this let me ask you a question and if you can help me out I'll sub to you but anyway.
    Long story short
I wanna a device to watch movies ans UA-cam in 4k plus do some light gaming and emulation but i also wanna keep the power consumption low so do i buy me a cheap second hand sff pc and make it a htpc or do i just get a streaming device instead like a media not the Nvidia shield something less expensive because im also on a budget
Looking forward to your answer if you do answer this question.
    Sorry for the long text

Depending on your budget I'd look at an xbox series s. Unless you're going pure PC gaming then in terms of power and budget it can vary. You're best bet would be an APU if you are doing super light gaming with low power.

@@tech_evolved my budget is extremely tight about $100 and when I talk about a HTPC I do mean a PC that has a apu yes and a Xbox series s is way out of my budget but that's my fault I didn't tell you my budget

    • @tech_evolved
      @tech_evolved  10 місяців тому

for $100 its pretty rough. I'd look at local deal but if you go eBay, then something like a dell optiplex sff with an i5 will allow you to stream easily. As far as gaming, its pretty rouch to say. Any low profile gpu is gonna cost some money (at least any good ones).

@@tech_evolved so you recommend a PC then over a media box for my needs 🤔

    • @tech_evolved

I haven't reviewed a media box before. Probably should ask someone who has. I specialize in gaming PCs
