Bike parks are popping up all over, if you've never ridden one or are showing up for the first time it could be downright intimidating. Ride along with me as I check out the Coler Trails in Bentonville and give you some tips on how to make you trip as safe and enjoyable as possible!

That's what I dig about the MTB community, hardly any egos. Everyone just wants to hang out and have a good time, regardless of skill level.

Yeah...he could have made that guy feel stupid if he knew his mtb resume, but he didn't bring it up... and that's super classy.
I was there that day, and when he rode up I immediately knew it was him because of the Trail Boss graphic on his shirt. I don't think anyone local had any idea he was in town. He rode up like one of the guys and started asking our group what the best trails were, like random tourists rider guy. We had a few guys that could have led him, but Dustin Slaughter is a Pro Enduro rider, so that was his best bet to get good trailing footage!
It's hard to explain how demanding the Cease and Desist trail is from a fitness perspective, but if you're going to clear all those tables, it's an all out pedal. Then...you get to the 12 foot drops at the end where the "drop the hammer" part is, and you're gassed out. Make it through there, and you have the longest tables to the end!
What stands out in my mind on this footage is how close you were riding to Dustin. With the GoPro effect, that had to have been REALLY close on a few of those tables! That's a lot of trust for a rider you haven't met before! :-) Dustin can handle it though...he's a ripper.
"What did you do today, Dustin?" "Oh, not much. Just went down to my local trails and gave a tow-in to an mtb legend."
That was sweet, I think I found my next wooden feature to build in the backyard!!!! Live-Life-Loud!!

Bentonville is at the top of my list to visit. From all I have heard about it, I won’t be disappointed. At my age I don’t risk the big jumps and gaps but I love that flow. Looks like there are plenty of beginner and intermediate trails to keep me busy.

NW Arkansas is an amazing place to go ride! Walmart money building Tons of great trails! I visit there for a week every year! Love to see more from the trail boss in Arkansas!

This video was GREAT. Got to watch him at the Lewis and Clark re grand opening then happened to run into him at slaughter pen at the top of The Downhill the next dayand he seemed super cool. Just started riding 6 months ago and Im obsessed. Thanks for sharing this Jeff.

They have continued to add and update the trails @ Coler. In the area there are dozens of miles near by that are also under construction, that's on over 100 miles of trails within 30+ minutes!
Awesome video! We just visited Coler for the first time last week (around the same time you filmed based on the leaves). Everyone was super nice and helpful. Next time you are in town (or close) check out the Upper Buffalo River Trails. They are IMBA EPIC certified and very remote. It is a beautiful area!
Great riding but wait till they finish the 7mile downhill... :) hopefully finished this fall. This will be epic... as any of you would know from riding the Upper Buffalo. Just an inside tip from a WFF and to all the trail builders out there. Hats off to ya. Your on the front lines making this riding great!

God I love Bentonville. Its the closest MTB "destination" for me. Close means 600 miles but I made the trip twice in 6 weeks. I wish I had found Coler sooner. I really enjoyed it but it was after I had already been riding for 3-4 hours before that so I was beat after getting to the top. I road Fireline and called it a day there. I hope all those kids living there know how lucky they are to have that. Its really an amazing little town if you're into biking. All of the surrounding towns are getting in on the trail building too.
