You know it’s a good episode, when you find yourself, pausing every two minutes, going over to your records, checking covers, checking labels....”do I have this....no, wait...Boom!....success!” I’ve said it before, and not blowing smoke, you guys make collecting fun. Thanks for your hard work. Take care.
Great show, as always. I drool when I see some of the stuff you guys show. Wish I had gotten back into collecting a little earlier than I did. Most of the good stuff is too pricey when you find it now.
I love it when Joe says something about signatures or records being fake! He’s joking but cracks me up! His timing is perfect. Then John saying he even got Tommy’s signature down! Been practicing! 😂
I thoroughly enjoy the content and tone of this podcast!! Thanks for the increase in content as of late. Joe, I live in a suburb of Detroit and would love to visit your record shop. What's the name of it?
John and Joe - What type of shelving do you use to store your records??? Also, my Paul Stanley Solo promo is gold stamped on the back upper righthand corner with hole punch upper left.
It is so much fun to watch all of your videos. Thank you! I know you are collectors of the official stuff but I like the idea to have one episode in which you discuss vinyl and cd live bootlegs. Which are the best bootlegs (soundquality, cover art, band performance pressing quality etc.). By the way, like Jason I have a spotify playlist with all Kiss studio songs and it rarely plays a song I do not love ( ok, I don't like the Psycho circus album but don't hate it). You can't do that with Ozzy, Maiden or Metallica. They have too many skips in their catalogue.
27th thumbs up from me and I haven't even watched it yet!!! I collect no promo stuff!?! Blue Kool-Aid Drinker, peace out from the Southern Tip of Vancouver island, B.C. CANADA
On my KISS ROCKS Vegas LP’s, Record 1 Center Label has the German KISS logo and record 2 Center Label has the Regular KISS logo. I’m thinking this must be unique! I had ordered from Amazon.ca. Canada. and got it a week ago. It’s the Europe release. Thought this was pretty cool. Great show guys, by the way! Cheers!
Not all Promos had an stamp or anything on the label... many of them were just sent to the radio station with no markings at all , no gold stamp or ( promotional not for sale ) in the label. the only way you can tell is if the radio station stick a label from the station on the cover .. I have the Gene solo promo record like this ..
I bought promo copies of the solo albums as a set around 1995. Paul’s didn’t have gold stamp on the cover, but the other three did. All had the promo labels like you guys show in the video. My copy of Ace’s has the text on the back printed in purple instead of blue. Looked like the ones in the video were all the blue text on the back?
Did Hard Goods come out before the first Kiss album? I was inspired by this episode and bought a mint palm tree version of this album. But I can’t find a definitive release date for this album or when it first became available. Any more info on this?
I have the Singles Box set with the barcode marked with sharpie but it's still sealed except right there, I guess that would be considered a sorta Promo correct?
Do any of your 76 Tour Promo's have a warp to it? I got mine for a steal almost a decade ago, when it arrived, I noticed the warp and the guy refunded me half. Later on, I found out lots of them had a slight warp to them...
What's the deal with vinyl collectors wanting promo's. Is it just the rarity value in that not many were stamped as promo? Cause in most cases it is just the same album apart from the 'promo copy' stamp(s), right?

Imagine seeing you here..🤣 hi buddy!
I also have the color version of the Rock and Roll Over sampler promo, Got it in '77 from a local DJ here in Seattle, Definitely not conterfeit .....
"Ten copies at a thousand bucks each" .... for God's sake, Jason, don't give 'em any ideas!!!! Another great show gents - thank you

As always , damn good 👍 episode. Love the Originals second printing promo stamp . Never seen that before....pretty cool. Always learn something new.

Guarantee Both of your Alive promos come from PRC. That is the layout that they used on the labels

At the 1:20 mark
"Let me show my Peter..."
"Yeah, I'll show mine, too."

4 different RARO promos. The 3 that Joe read off, and one on a Filmworks label

Looking forward to this!
My friend from Vegas has that Rock and Roll Over colored promo. He received in the early 80s from a radio station. It is real.
Would it be possible to put him in contact with us?
A friend of mine once had the Lick It Up promo LP, and I think he had "26" for the plant number on the label.

My Alive 2 promo has a different gold foil stamp and the promo copy wording is on the right side of the label
When are you guys gonna do posters?
The glitter is remnants from the albums being stacked and the gold stamp promo will have rubbed off, on first kiss, last licks. Thats my veiw.
That sounds entirely feasible to me!
Do any of your 76 Tour Promo's have a warp to it? I got mine for a steal almost a decade ago, when it arrived, I noticed the warp and the guy refunded me half. Later on, I found out lots of them had a slight warp to them...
Mine does not (Jason)
@@kissmykollectibles Interesting! I think it was an old FAQ post - people went an checked their copies and some had warping too.
What about the ''Rockand roll over'' music book???
Genuine question - why do you consider 'Kiss My Ass' as part of the discography?
What's the deal with vinyl collectors wanting promo's. Is it just the rarity value in that not many were stamped as promo? Cause in most cases it is just the same album apart from the 'promo copy' stamp(s), right?
Some believe they are the very first pressings and will sound the best besides the rarity factor
