Across the state line at Schlitterbahn in Kansas City, Kan., park operators are preparing to open the world’s tallest water slide, officially certified by the Guinness Book of World Records at 168 feet, seven inches - taller than Niagara Falls, or the Statue of Liberty when she’s off her pedestal. The previous record-holder was the Kilimanjaro slide in Brazil, which kept the title for a dozen years .
The “Verruckt” - that’s German for “Insane” - straps up to four riders into a raft for an 11-second ride with speeds expected to top 60 miles per hour. That’s if they don’t turn around after climbing 264 steps to the top of the ride, and taking in the view.

I read in the court records, someone went temporarily blind after riding this shit. Imagine how terrifying that would be.

Who is the idiot that put a net with metal supports to enclose the ride ? It should have been a transparent half pipe and the seats should have been taller so if the raft went airborne the first part that to hit the roof would have been the seats and not the head of the riders !

Well if you want a possibility of death then go ahead. You really would still ride it after a kid died on it his blood smeared all over it? Sorry I am not trying to be insensitive it really was a sad tragedy. But how can people say oh it shouldn't be shut down

People do not understand that you do not open a ride to the public after it has decapitated a person, any more than you ride in a car with a metal blade in front of your neck.
