If you say that 3ds max is good, you guys have no idea what we're doing. Compare blender and 3ds max 2025 UA-cam views that came out in one day. If you want to make 3ds max better in the future, you have to fire the current 3ds max team and replace it with a team that can develop better.
They can't even get the basics right. Viewport display still appalling, qt implementation really poor, fixing bugs are not updates, no significant updates to UI, layers, modal items, the list is endless. The one thing they should is update every modifier, that would be a start.
Funny watching the updates. Used to use 3ds max 2009 - 2017. All the updates are nothing. People getting excited over features and fixes that should have been implemented 5-10-15 years ago. The slate editor still looks ancient. Still depends on 3rd party plugins to work correctly. 🤦♂️
Frustratingly, Autodesk seems to lag behind when you compare it to the updates from Unreal, Blender, and others. The updates feel more like minor patches than substantial improvements. It's becoming increasingly clear that 3Ds Max is nearing the end of its lifecycle, with what appears to be minimal innovation and possibly just a limited budget from Autodesk aimed at maintaining its existing subscriber base rather than truly advancing the software, and attracting new users.
3DsMax simply doesn't need them, since it's fully feature-packed software, unlike Blender. Everything minor is being pushed as feature updates, which I install once in a couple of years when I get bored.
Has it not been like this the last 10 years really? I don’t think it’s near the end of its life cycle. But it’s innovation and evolution as a software died long time ago. I am pretty sure it will still have customers around in ten years. Sure Blender is free but if you have a studio setup with max or if you are an indie that knows max and can afford it. Then still max is better than Blender in many ways. I think it comes down to when Blender (or maybe it will instead be Unreal) has same level of all the workflow to produce game or arc viz assets as Max. Then people might switch. But as said I will probably take another 10 years until we are there.
It’s just time for the old guys like 3dss max to leave and give way to new, more progressive ones, no matter how sad it may sound. More and more people move to Blender.
they don't listen to user... they listen to the managers who has no clue what the user's need/want. WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO FLUSH hair and fur and integrate Xgen in 3ds max ? the hair system is absolute garbage and we need to relay on plugins !! what a shame !! Even blender,a free app, has a good hair system ! really autodesk is...well you know what..
In comparison with UE5 and blender, 3ds Max is a complete dead END in development, and it cannot take advantage of professional coding teams since it is not OPEN SOURCE! Autodesk must hire professional development teams instead of 2010-era guys!🥶 And spend money, otherwise it will have to say goodbye to its top market competitors!
As you say it's nothing. You deserve to promote better software. This update is beyond a joke, we all know that. Why do we have to install a new version and associated plugins for this useless tweak.

Not that this update is that great, but what kind of ai you want? Generating a buggy script where you need more time to fix than writing it from scratch? Saw a video where chat-gpt was generating a blender script to arrange cubes in a circle: didn't work at 1st try, and can be done faster "by hand" without a script. But the blender folks were switching to hallelujah-mode. Or messing up mesh/uvs or animation by AI ? easy to do without. AI's for 3d are crap atm., ever saw a generated 3d-model blob-thingy, modeling from scratch is faster than using such nonsense. Something like photoshop did? First 10 usages are free, then you have to pay. Easy money for them because you need 30 times hit the generate button to get something useful. Whatever is shown in advert videos is a week-long process with one more or less good result. Where is the avalanche of Sora-videos? Why every months only 2-3 doggy/kitty-videos ? Very useful stuff indeed. And don't forget, when nobody actually knows what the AI-code is doing, how to expect bugfixes in this area? Try a free AI thing to generate an image, and then the customer/artdirector wants a slight change. Good luck with that. Maybe in a few years/decades... or another blown up bubble to burst. The argument "it will only get better" is there a long time now, still waiting for something really useful. People were excited 30years ago when we got reversi and minesweeper on windows, where are we now ?
You are missing out really. Since then, there are some amazing features that would make your work so much faster and easy. I do not upgrade every year but every 2-3 years it is a must.

WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO FLUSH hair and fur and integrate Xgen in 3ds max ? the hair system is absolute garbage and we need to relay on plugins !! what a shame !! Even blender,a free app, has a good hair system ! really autodesk is...well you know what..
So even this joke with MAX being only for archviz will very soon be regretted and wished to be true since AI renders are here to stay
Blender > 3ds Max
Se puede salir del 3DS MAX, Eloi. Con el apoyo de tus seres queridos y mucha fuerza de voluntad, se puede.
AD really doesn't care about max. they wanna kill it so bad.
Max was abandoned by Autodesk.
Nonsense.
Why do we have to install a new version and associated plugins for this useless tweak.
disappointing update
blender geometry nodes some things like 3d max modifier bulding blocks but blender geometry nodes is more powerful and more customized then 3ds max modifier bulding blocks
3ds Max has had nodes for many years now. It's called MCG (Max Creation Graph).
@@bgtubber Thanks but i dont know about this modifier i will check it now Thanks again🙂
@@bgtubber it is but none uses it, actually it is stupid to argue whose dick is bigger, everyone chooses a more comfortable application for oneself to work with.
@@bgtubber Bro its true but mcg procedural modeling method is far far away from geometry nodes i watched some videos of mcg. mcg is not compare to blender geometry nodes system, any way thanks again for new info
@@bgtubber yeah but it basically does nothing
No AI, no nothing. These companies are worse than phone / processor companies. Just giving small small improvements so they can sell max.
Beautiful software but I rather stick with Blender..
omg i am still using 2016😂
😂i hope you are just joking
me too, it's a stable version
You are missing out really. Since then, there are some amazing features that would make your work so much faster and easy. I do not upgrade every year but every 2-3 years it is a must.
@@keelfly yes brother you are absolutely right.
@@keelfly I'm using it along with Houdini so not really depending on it =]
