John Anthony is an excellent dog trainer and decoy. He owns several and works with many different dogs but Crixis, is his main dog and his best friend. - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини
Omg love his ears what a handsome dog. Young man you said you have no history but you sure do have a future thank you for working with a dog others would consider unworthy
I have a Rottweiler / German Shepherd , male about 1 year old , I found him living under an abandoned house trailer being used as a meth lab , he had Zero human contact for the first 6 months of his life.. he was flea-infested covered in ticks and sick.. took a long time for him to stop foraging for food and trying to drink out of mud puddles.. today he is 90 pounds and a complete beast.. smarter than most humans..scary smart !!
I applaud anyone who takes on a dog that has been abused. Bless you for saving him and getting him well.

My mom has a friend with a German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix tied outside all the time, he's around 2 I'm assuming, he always runs off the chance that he gets. I already took in a Golden Retriever that they had years ago in the same condition and died of old age a few years back. Idk why people get dogs and aren't willing to train or spend time with them.
I really hope that there's an animal abuse registry, sort of like sex offenders, that breeders can look up and not sell to them and prevent them from owning any animal again in their life
See my comment above about my Alaska Malamute-German Shepard-Wolf Hybrid mix that I rescued. He was so thin when we rescued him and for some time (like your experience) he would drink out of puddles and preferred to eat off the ground (he kept tipping his bowl on to the floor so we got a platform to hold it). He was also an escape artist for a while too, but eventually he gained weight, and he actually lived for almost 15 years (that is when we knew for sure he had Timberwolf in him...his age and height). Most large breeds do not live past 10-12 years and some only go 8 or 9. He was a wonderful dog, and unique. The only dog I ever had that was not afraid of a vacuum cleaner or lawnmowers...he would bark and go after both...lol. I think its wonderful that you rescued your dog and wish you the best with him.
When we rescue any animal , especially the abused ones....we are reaffirming our humanity......paralley I have the highest dislike and contempt for people who behave badly with animals....plz remember anyone who can abuse / hurt animals will not think twice to behave the same with any human
Good Job&I'm sure ur right about the dog being far more sensible than many humans..
The way you talk about him and the attention you give to the process of working with him is absolutely inspiring.
I assumed this was going to be about a someone creating a new breed.I'm glad I was wrong..I appreciate this man's commitment, love and patience in the training of his lovely mixed breed dog.
same here
Just a thought, neither of you are "underdogs", you are both winners and deservedly so. Keep up the good work and best wishes for 2020.
@Ms Succubus are you always full of positiveness and we'll wishing . Bet your husband's a happy fella.
Anthony Smith, well said and wise! Greetings from Brazil!
We have two Belgian Malinois Doberman Pinscher mix litter mates, a male & female. Their mom was a Malinois, dad a Dobe and both were from working lines. They have the traits of both breeds. The females traits leans slightly toward Malinois and body shape of the Doberman at 75lbs.
Her brothers traits leans toward the Doberman and Malinois body type but bigger at 115lbs.
Most amazing dogs we ever owned. They are very smart sometimes picking up something first try. Also very sensitive yet once you find the sweet spot they are so easy to train. They have the super prey drive of the Malinois and like a Doberman stick to you like glue. I thought being half Belgian Malinois they would have less energy, no such luck. :-) Feels like they have more energy. You can wear them down but you can never wear them out.
Great dog, thank you for caring enough to give this dog a chance.
There are very few people that when they talk other people want to listen.
You had my attention 100%.
Great job!
What a beautiful bond, awesome dog, and awesome trainer. The patience and devotion put into developing this dog at his own pace has really paid off.
Thank you for working with mixed breed dogs. You two deserve some mad respect. Your best friend is just beautiful.

Zeke! Only you Bruh. Only you would have the foresight to feature a mixed bread k9. I am a fan and I am impressed good sir👏🏾.
This young man, John Anthony is a lover of dogs and is a true talent. Keep up what ur doing.
♥️Wow, Belgian Malinois and Doberman mix! That’s CRAZY! He’s beautiful.
I seriously don't know who is more gorgeous.... that man or that dog...
Seriously.....
😍
Maybe this will help open the sport up to more rescue dogs. I truly believe that the shelter overpopulation can be greatly helped if altered non purebred dogs could compete in popular dog sports.
And the trainers who can get adult rescues trophies can charge a much higher fee as they ARE the best trainers.
Over population of dog shelters has nothing to do with mixed dogs not being able to compete at dog shows. You look at these dog shelters and 70% of the dogs in them are pit bulls or some sort of pit mix. I myself have 2 pit dogs from a shelter and I have no interest what so ever to having them compete in anything. One of the many reasons these dogs end up in there is, home insurance won't cover them or landlords won't rent out to people with those kind of dogs. Getting your pets fixed and education are key to over population.
@@E_Jay10 I hear that all the time but it doesn't seem to hold true. My local shelter pretty much only has Labs, hounds, and collies; pits make up maybe 15%. The real commonality is that they are medium to large dogs with high energy.
E_Jay And also the fact that a lot of pits are dog aggressive, and for a shelter trying to house as many dogs as safely as possible, it’s not feasible to keep one dog in a cage when more could be housed together. Also, the whole dog aggressive part makes people worry, and the average owner isn’t sure how to deal with that.
matthew stebbins Same thing as i said above. Pits are the most euthanised breed, hence why sometimes it seems like there might not be as many. I see mainly younger high energy breeds in my country, kelpies, amstaffs (pits), bull arabs, mutts with mainly working dog lines. That, and your occasional old little terrier/chihuahua given up because an elderly owner has passed on. Generally though, when you can’t house a certain breed because of massive amounts of neglect and abuse forming unsocial temperaments, you just wont see them being worked with. It’s more work, money and time than it’s worth.
My girl is the same mix. She's the best-minding dog I've ever had. She follows me everywhere on my property and waits by my truck til we leave each morning.
I don’t understand how videos like this one can have dislikes.
The dislikes are hater.
Love love love this! We have a 7 month old female Mal/dobie mix who was also a rescue. We are soon starting her with off leash/agility as well as shutzhund work to keep her mental and physical energy occupied. It's such an unexpected yet gorgeous mix! Love seeing yours succeed like this. Gives me hope for my little Penny girl ❤️
Great testimony, and a clear understanding of the path he and his dog is on, so in saying that faith and determination has no bounds go as far as it allows you.
I have a very large poodle, sometimes they startle you with their intelligence. I'm an old guy, having had many dogs. Pay attention, you will find the gem.
Excellent dog and handler relationship.
The UA-cam channel that always makes me want to look up European breeders now has looking at the “Adoptable” dogs at the local shelter.
I love how to talk about him with that smile on your face 😊 continue making history the both of you 😊
What a fantastic dog! A Maliman so to speak.
Dobernois would sound more French/Belgian))
@@aktanakhmetov fuck now I need a Dobernois
I got a maliweiler 🤣 or a rottynois
EXTRAORDINARY! This trainer is great.
Two hardworking pals. NICE!
Great to see people who put in the work to making something out of a dog like this. It makes you a better trainer and gives the dog so much more fulfilment.
This is some of the most moving and emotional dog videos I have ever seen in my life.
I have a husky doberman . Wow I love seeing other breeds
Looks just like my GSD/Dobie/Rott mix. She’s a super genius dog.
Looks like my Belgian/ Boxer mix Cash. Loved this video! Awesome!
Whoa - your commitment- undeniably priceless!
i like these sorts of videos about mixed dogs. Under the right circumstances they can do just as good of a job as a working line.
Awesome video, dog, and trainer! I have a 2 year old Doberman German Shepherd mix rescue. This guy reminds me alot of him. It's crazy how sometimes mixed breeds get these awesome traits.
He’s beautiful!!! Nice attitude comes through, non pure bred dogs are sweet!
Great work Zeke. I love to see the old video format coming back! And as for John and Crixus, I love it. Keep up the good work!
John Anthony, Great interview. I appreciate it!
Great looking dog and a great combo of dogs don't be surprised if someone don't start to try to make this a breed now after watching this
I am thrilled! Two of my favorite breeds in one gorgeous furbaby 🥰
Thanks for the interesting video featuring your beautiful dog. I like the correlation and connection you made with your boy, no doubt this has helped you train him to be the best he can be and to you as well. Keep up the fine work you do.
I love this dog. Just goes to show in the game, all beats are off. The under dog can toss up the odds.
He is just beautiful! I had a Dobie/Rott cross for 14 years! His name was Cooler and he was 125 lbs of cheeseball. The most gentle and friendly dog I’ve ever had. I miss him very much.
Wot a beautiful dog, humble, obedient and keen.. The trainer is not bad either!!?! 😁
Really? Looks like a "hobo"? You've got some special taste girl.....
That’s the energy you walking around with on Christmas Day?
@@lichtsoldat7697 I hope you too have a wonderful Christmas.
@@lichtsoldat7697 HAHAHAHA! I just thort that wud sound good!! A guy for me has to step up with a lot more! That's why I'm single.. and loving it! I don't like locs either!! So you've blown my cover!! Sorry, trainer dude! 😁
@@lichtsoldat7697 that's what you see? How very sad for you.
I see a patient, devoted, and talented dog trainer wearing what a typical dog person would wear when training. Seems to me like a person worth meeting.
Great dog and trainer combo.
I didn't think I would like this video but it turned out to be one of my favorite dogumentaries. And I love the Spartacus name!
What a great video!!!! I love it; thanks so much for sharing his story, and for giving him such a good life.
Loved, Loved, Loved this video. I wish more mixed breed dogs could compete. There are certainly a lot of dogs, and owners who would benefit from the experience.
Crixis ? What a BEAUTY !!😁👍👍👍👍 I LOVE AT HIS DOG. 💝🌹
beautiful dog..
I have one of these for a pet. Very smart. Has best aspects of both dogs making him formidable
A very unique looking dog, I like how his head and legs are very Doberman like but his tail reminds me more of a Malinois. Would be greatly interested if there was video of him competing in the Sports areas against other breeds in the near future.
I like his deep doberman chest with that Shepard look
What a beautiful dog. I bet he's smart and pretty easy to train due to being a mali/doberman mix either way he is beautiful
I live in France and have done ring with rotties. It is such a rewarding sport and very demanding. Kudos to you and Crixus.
Whereabouts? I am emigrating to France next year and would like to do french ring...
@@benbirch2393 I live in the region called Centre, not far from Tours, Blois...To do ring here, you have to belong to a club. Only dogs wth pedigrees and un-neutered can compete, but if you join a club, you can work on ring and your dog can be the "test" dog, called chien en blanc. At every trial, and for every level, there is a test dog who shows the contestants the whole program!
@@gailgreenberg6953 thanks! I will be moving to Monflanquin so a long way from you guys : (
@@benbirch2393 Well, let me know if you need anything. I'll help if i can, especially with FRENCH
Gail Greenberg LoL! test dog? Here in The U.S. we call them SideBitches!
This guy and his dog are my inspiration. I have a belgian Malinois / Belgian Groenendael mix, and like Crixus, he is a neutered male and not a pure breed dog, but he is an amazing dog and we do a good team together and have a lot of fun together practicing obedience, tricks, doing long walks and hiking in the woods and mountains. Crixus is very lucky to have John as his handler, trainer and partner (and also he is a gorgeaus dog).
You speak about how amazing he is. But YOU got me inspire more, how amazing...
i wish i can be the owner and the good handler of my dog. As just the way i am.. 😉
You my friend are a gifted trainer!
Thanks for sharing!!
Love to see rescues do jobs this is a great mix to do work in theory. I’m no trainer and my rescue does some cool things.
Two of my favourite breeds. What a beautiful boy!
God damn inspiring and uplifting
This is awesome. I have a 4 yr old Belgian Malinois and a 6 yr old Doberman/lab mix. So its pretty awesome to see what it would be like if my dogs were a single breed. Both of my dogs are incredibly smart and very easily trained. Took a long time to get to this point but was well worth it
He even has been a therapy dog? What an awesome dog!
Yo this dog is amazing. Two of my favorite breeds mixed. It's a great mix.
He is poetry in motion. (And my dobie doesn't care much about the ball, so unsurprised!) He is a gorgeous dog! I love your training!
This breed is going to have scary mad energy levels.
Thank you for posting this I rescued a dog almost a year ago that was wandering around the freeway that looks exactly like this dog. The temperament and everything is exactly like my dog. Very cool that I can actually identify his mix and gives me some good ideas on how to train him better.
Awesome story man! Keep up the good work!
This dog looks my dog’s long lost cousin! We rescued him off the street and have been speculating what breed he is. He’s definitely got some Doberman in him. I can also see some greyhound! Great video. Thanks for it!
I think it is great what you are doing with this dog and mixed breeds. Besides, this cross is two of the best protection and working breeds I have worked with and I have trained for some time. Malinois and Dobermans are always at the top of my obedience classes and are tremendously athletic. Sheps are very reliable and steady, and Rotts and mastiffs are great with guard work...but my personal preference has always been those two breeds (although I love all the working breeds). I think the more you work with this guy the more he will exceed expectations. It may not be as directly in his blood, but its there. I had a Shepard-Malamute-Wolf hybrid before that I rescued and it took a good deal of time and work but I got it to where he would act more like a Shepard than a Malamute/wolf (they have minds of their own). And looking back, he had such a unique personality. The best part about him is he was a very handsome guy, just like you boy Crixus! I love his eyes...Best of luck...
Crazy mix, but yet a beautiful breed.
a very intelligent mix for sure...ive had dobermans for 45 yrs...super intelligent intense dogs...
He is gorgeous!
I have a red Doberman female, had a half GSD and half Standard Bull Terrier mix(passed recently), and their son who is HUGE. Looks alot like the dog here but a just bit thicker and shorter would love to send you pictures
Don't worry about competition, you have a terrific combination of qualities in CRIXUS, and I envy you!
Awesome! True underdog
Beautiful Mr. john Anthony. Thank you for sharing with us.
John is a hero
Not sure why this is in my place list but that dog is stunning. Great story!
Really interest video..And certainly a unusual combo in the sense that both breeds are extremely dominant&energy driven..I think most people would'nt have a clue how to train a dog like this..
Crixus is one beautiful dog!
I would think with the background genetics he’d be a A+. Love a good Doberman cross!!!
Great story! Beautiful dog! Thanks for sharing!
Awesome!!! Dobermans my breed....very interesting mix....thought at first he was "Chinese Red Dog". Love the whole "dog" from protection. to therapy dog......great trainer!!! I can see why this special male is your "personal dog"!
Amazing mix 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Rep for the mix breeds Awesome! People all to often overlook them because of it but they can be something fierce.
Beautiful type... I have a quarter bul Quarter grey hound.. Hakf malinios.. N belive i truly get u on tge type of correction and when delivered.. Good vid very real spoken on all levels 💯🙏
Oh, what a stunning dog. Well done to you.
Great work taking the patience and effort to train this dog. Good luck to Crixis in future competitions.
Awe. Puppy! Awesome!
Gorgeous dog. By appearance alone, I am not surprised at all that he's a Mal x Dobe. However given that he came to the guy at 4 weeks covered in fleas, I would have liked to have heard more about how the man found the dog, and how he is certain of the parentage.
I wish the best to them both!
What an awesome story. Keep em coming.
I love this channel! And this video just touched my heart strings. Your dedication, persistence and true passion for dogs is such a joy to watch. It's not always the underdog that gets this kinda praise. And most that show their dogs in competitions, don't believe in the mutt or more challenging pups. Bravo for really dedicating your life to this !
Animals You Put In Hard Work Always Turn Out The Best !!!!!
The trainer says Crixius was on TV show.. does that mean he will be on 'Americans Top Dog'? That would be dope to see!!!
And I was right!
i saw one today in London, was friendly and beautiful, i wondered what mix he was,
I have two red Doberman Pinschers and one month love them all.
I saw this guy on a show called Top Dog!
Great job from the man and his dog!
Belgian Malinois are awesome as a matter of fact Doberman and Belgian Malinois are my favorite dogs pretty cool mix
I usually love ya videos but easily the best one for me 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
One nice looking dog. Good on you for saving em.
Beautiful!
I Have a Belgian mix I saved him also he had giardia haven't had him tested but he is the smartest fastest dog I've ever had the opportunity to raise he just had puppies with a German/ husky
Best of luck for both of you.
Great work.. Great video...
