    Excellent tutorial - congratulations!
    Currently flying the X-Plane IXEG 737 and whilst there are a lot of good 737 tutes out there, I haven't seen anything as comprehensive or as well explained as yours.
    Thank you! 😊

    Not a pilot or an engineer so I would have to guess, but I imagine the HUD and HUD annunciator thing is a crew resource management decision - if the captain is using the HUD they are going to be the pilot flying and want to be eyes-out (the whole point of the HUD). Checking the HUD annunciator would force them to goes eyes-in, defeating the purpose. It makes much more sense to give the HUD annunciator panel to the first officer who would be eyes-in as pilot monitoring and therefore in a better position to notice and do something about a HUD fault warning.

    You don't fully realize how good these tutorials are until you start learning to fly this aircraft! This is the real thing if you want to have any chance of flying a real Boeing, PMDG is the only way to go. The standard Boeings are shadows of the real thing and are really just a sophisticated computer game! I agree, Doofer's tutorials are the best out there!

    That's really the best video I ever seen. Really explained well. Please make a detailed video on following topics also:- using fmc, using auto pilot, starting 737 from cold till takeoff. About vor/adfi and all like terms you said. Also takeoff cruise and landing tutorial.

      Well to give you an idea, I've added about 200 hours to my FSX game time over the past few months ONLY flying this aircraft and sitting in the cockpit poking buttons, figuring out how they work and what they do. Add to that many hours reading documentation, making notes then all the production hours that go into making a video as well. Quite a lot! haha

    • @russ1978
      @russ1978 6 років тому +2

      Doofer911 I’ve been trying to learn the 737 for a while now too. Reading charts while in work, mastering he fmc and understanding the overhead panels. But your basically learning it for people and delivering the knowledge in the clearest way. I’ve learned lots that I didn’t know about. I suppose you will never actually stop learning this plane. The whole process of flying is just one big tutorial that will never end especially for real life pilots! Anyway great job and looking forward to your next video, the middle radio panel I believe.

    • @russ1978
      @russ1978 6 років тому +1

      Would also like to add just how clear and perfectly paced the tutorials are. Anybody learning to fly the PMDG aircraft on the simulator won’t find a more straight forward easier way of learning than your tutorials. I would love to see a video at the end of you demonstrating how your actually using each of these buttons and knobs Separately while in flight so people would know exactly the right scenario to use a command like level change for example! Again, great stuff, love it!

    • @Doofer911
      @Doofer911  6 років тому +1

      Yeah the plan is to do videos showing the various procedures from Cold and Dark through setup through preflight, engine start etc. After all that I may do a long, uncut video of a flight but I'm not sure if I want to do that after the procedure guides or after I've done all the videos including learning other systems (like the Autoflight modes) in detail. As you said, there's so much to learn but I'll have to step away from it at some point to focus on other aircraft and ideas for the channel.

    Excellent video - appreciate the detail. One question - on the Primary Flight Display I often notice a green arc going back and forth infront on the aircraft along it's track... what is this? Never seem to find a tutorial that explains it (or not yet anyways).

    • @Doofer911
      @Doofer911  5 років тому +1

      It indicates the point at which the aircraft will level out from a climb or descent. Useful if you're trying to hit a certain altitude at a certain waypoint.

    can you explain for us how to change the route(path) while you are flying on the route which it fixed in mcdu (fmc)?
    i mean: suppose happened with you emergency case and you have to inter new route from the way point or the place you are in to the nearest airport,,,,,, how to do that by putting new air ways and way points in the (fmc) which it will lead you to the nearest airport?
    best regards to your nice person
