- Welcome back to A Nervous Trek! On this one the Carnival Sunrise is taking us to Grand Cayman. We show you our DIY excursion and secret spot on Seven Mile Beach so you can escape the cruise crowds. We try out breakfast at Guy's Burgers, hit the lido deck for dinner, and divulge Ashley's love of butter. Thank you! We got ripped off in Cozumel by the taxi driver. We saw the price on the taxi board to go to a particular beach- the driver did not tell us but while we were at the beach he never left. When we got back he charged us for a “personal driver” all day even though he just took us to one place- we never asked him to sit around all day. It ended up being about 200.00 instead of the 20.00 posted. 🤦🏻♀️ Lesson learned!!
I like your videos, that island is very beautiful, recently I saw a video of a girl called la andariega who, although it is in Spanish with subtitles, asks to see the impressive places on that island... I recommend you see them...

Yes- there were quite a few as you walk. The Kimpton had one right on the beach to the right of the restaurant that were very clean and nice! 😊

i use a second plate to place over my filled plate to take it back to the room. saves having to bring plastic/foil.
If only the plates would fit in the refrigerator. That’s why we bring the plastic bags- don’t want cold pasta salad sitting at room temp for hours 😂
Did you have to walk back to Public Beach to catch a taxi back to port?? Do you know if taxi would drop people off at Kimpton and just enter the beach at the Kimpton beach entrance?
Man, we honestly don’t know. We just walked it- it may be a bit more expensive. Our taxi only offered one stop and it was Public Beach so we wondered until we discovered the Kimpton.
I'm going to be there in October. Is the place called Kimpton resort?...or Seafire Resort?

Are taxis just waiting outside or did you have to flag one down after leaving the beach?
Taxis were abundant outside- they don’t leave until they fill the taxi and there were probably 20 taxis consistently out there waiting :)!
Do you think you could just get a taxi to the Kimpton?
Yeah- I’m sure you could get a taxi right to the Kimpton. It may cost more for the taxi to go straight there without convincing some others to go with you!
Was it the Seafire Resort at Grand Caymen?
Yes! I believe it’s the only Kimpton property on GC 😀
So 24 hour dining isn't true for the buffet?
No sir- unfortunately the nuggets close down around 10/1030. The only things available after that is room service which you pay for or waiting in the late night pizza line- pizza stays open until around 3am!
Are they ok with Cruisers coming here?
Yeah- we walked up with our blue Carnival towels and they said “are you from a cruise? Welcome!” They had no problem with us being there as it’s part of the public beach. It probably helped that we were the only cruisers that walked down there so they weren’t overwhelmed with 300 cruisers.

We're the water sports free? I heard you say free water sports, but I assume there would be a fee fir like the trikes you mentioned.
What the heck was that in the whale tail?
We never actually found out- it lasted about an hour. We shared on it on TikTok and some people said someone may have been welding in there.

All those crazy lines is a Carnival thing. Good food, fun cruises but I cant stand all the lines.
9:23 she looks so sad and dejected over the lack of late snacks and food offerings at the buffet. Shame on you Carnival!

"food is why I cruise" wow.... These americans man... As a chef who worked for carnival I'm here to tell you that when it comes to food on cruise ships, probably just McDonald's is worse than that. There is absolutely no nutrition, nothing is healthy. Everything comes frozen cause they only get provisions once a week in Miami or whatever so nothing lasts for a week unless previously frozen. Eggs meat, sea food you name it... So next time you're going on a cruise just to eat, remember all this
