We just need a larval tear shop. That's the only thing missing.

Agreed, Larval Tear shop would be perfect

THIS! Play however you want, but this is not an action game, and not just an RPG but in fact a true JRPG. This game feels more like playing a Dragon Quest game with the Dark Souls combat system than older From games. It's crazy how they pulled it off. Now all they need to do is make and Armored Core spin off like this, basically the From equivalent of Xenoblade Chronicles X, that would be the prefect game. I just want to be able to cruise around in a custom mech, explore a massive alien world and then get out of my mech for their brand of dungeon diving and character action, wild bosses, and lore/world building. Surely, one day the stars will align!

The visceral reaction I had to you saying an armored core spin off like this... that wave of pure happiness and hope for the future the rest of modern society could never hope to elicit from me. I don't know if I'd ever play another game

Eldenring is a great game and agree no one should really complain its 'too' difficult, you have plenty of options to get through the game. For me however, the mechanics they've introduced for difficulty are boardering on being more tedious than fun. Like, I quite enjoyed being able to go ham on a DS1 boss that just missed a massive attack and has a long recovery time, I don't really like eldenring bosses slowly chipping away at their health with the few openings they give you.

    GET. GOOD.
solve the puzzle. download their patterns. Learn through death. find solutions. Execute.
I don't build around anything. Just pure colossal and shield. Whiff punishing. Play footsies. Dance with the bosses. A balance of aggression and back running. From start to finish. 1v1.

That’s what I love about the game. With some exceptions it was only as hard as I wanted it to be.

Exactly, when Commander Gaius became strictly unfun for me, I brought out a greatshield and had him down soon after, and for other bosses I enjoy, I continue my main playstyle or I can slightly change it to better suit the fight. The game is a phenomenal rpg imo

@@JMulls and when you want a fair challenge you fight Consort Radahn without magic or bleed.

I know about the lore to that fight but ive tried to stay away from spoilers for the fights and i know the move he does when you enter the arena and that he likes to spam aoe's and miquella's charm thing
I'm so excited to find out what all the hype is about him, gonna smack him down in Ranni's name

It’s like Code Vein. As hard as you want it.

I somewhat agree but alot of these tools to make it easier a lot of them aren't intented. they want it to be hard that's why they are always fixing bugs and nerfing stuff. They hate the idea of giving players an easy way out. It was designed for you to struggle otherwise they wouldn't have bothered trying to scale it so it was difficult even for high level characters... So if your taking the easy way it was likely not how they wanted it... I can be certain they probably wanted to make it even harder but people cry too much.

Miyazaki straight up told people to use it. He uses summons and tree fragments. It's intended.

A wakeup call to move on from Fromsoft games for sure. It's basically a reaction time tester now. If you're someone whose life revolves around gaining "respect" from your gamer peers for overcoming almost insurmountable obstacles then you probably love games like Elden Ring. For the rest it's just a needlessly difficult time waster. Dark Souls games were a cakewalk compared to Elden Ring.

To me that's the brilliant thing of Elden Ring, the mechanics all exist for you to mix and match as you see fit. If it's too hard and unenjoyable, change your build or use more mechanics to stack the deck in your favor... if you don't enjoy one thing, don't use it, or use it if you want. The whole "get good" stuff has a place when it comes to some design, but overall, Elden Ring is all about just figuring out whatever way you can to overcome these fights, that's the joy of it imo and not something to be ashamed of
