Hi there :) Thank you for posting this collection of videos :) If rudder modification was carried out& a servo etc. mounted, is there a way of using original transmitter as solely proportional throttle & to operate the rudder servo, in place of the original poor / slow left / right motor steering as you have achieved by fitting new speed controlers, recever, transmitter etc. Great job & a vastly better method of steering, allowing both motors to continue providing proportional equal power :) To reiterate, can this be achieved with use of original transmitter & what will I require electrically to achieve this Kind regards & God bless Russ
Great 4 videos can i ask how much all the parts come to? And where to get the parts from please I take you the top speed would still be the same ? But under more control .thank you
Most of the parts are pretty standard. Any basic RC (preferably with mixing - maybe flysky stick radio would be a good choice), two brushed ESCs (speed controllers) and a standard size servo (maybe Futaba). I would buy from Amazon, Ebay or Bangood. 😀👍
Like the rudder mod and the use of the electrical block to join the control linkage! Great boat now.... do you use the stock battery? I have a rc tank with similar mods, esc's that was on 8.4v stock. Now i run it on a 3s lipo 12.6v with no problems.
with 2 independent propellers this boat is quite manoeuvrable - although I found out the hard way that props come off if you try and put a prop into reverse. I'm not sure if I would use this for a bait boat. I suppose you could, but you would need to make something to hold and release the bait.
@@RCModders Releasing the bait would be the easy bit by way of a lead or float on a platform or in a tube and it would be pulling the rod line out with no friction then knock the bail arm over when the boat reaches the desired distance puling the rig out or off into the water, I just wondered how it would fair in a light sea from the shore as I know where I can get the same boat cheap but boats designed specifically for the purpose are expensive. I thought if I could just get it to pull the rig out and I have a tether line to pull the boat back to save on battery life and if it would struggle with a ballast weight in the bottom. Cheers
I did find a place and ordered some, but they haven’t come yet. I bought another boat (as a spare) and used a prop off that. I expect that the key is not to let the shafts suddenly run full speed in reverse and to check that the props are in tight - with thread lock.
I think that moving the rudder on a boat will change the amount of ‘authority’ that the the rudder has on controlling the direction of the boat as well as the turning circle etc. 😀👍
Hi ive brought 1 of these boats 2 and was looking 2 change brushed to brushless cani ask how you knew what size brushless motors to get and what else needed to change ie controller esc etc etc ,?? Thank you

I think I prob used a standard 72v pack from one of the trucks. Those ESCs will take 8.4v, but not 3s lipo. 😀👍
Watched with interest as I know nothing about rc boats but intending to build something for dropping fish bait out or a rig Thanks
Oh and what's your thoughts on adding weight in the bottom for reducing turnover or like a fin on a sail bout
It would be running out from a beach on a calm day

It was a fun & cheap conversion - a good way of experimenting with RC boats if you are new to the hobby. 😀👍

Could you tell me where you can get replacement propellers for this Boat, having a hard time locating them, thanks.

Hey here you can buy probs www.aliexpress.com/item/HENGLONG-3837-RC-baot-Atlantic-yacht-spare-parts-No-3837-007-Propeller/938878158.html

But how to replace the propeller?
What do you gain from moving the rudder back?

Working on the same boat brushless outrunners 2 60 amp esc,s I run on 3$
This will be quite fast I think! 😀👍

Added short vid of my build check it out.
looking good! 😀👍
