@@kanej1567 YES YES my expectations were so high because of all the videos of bawling girls Also, the message of the book ist so clear that you dont really get attached to it: Live every day as if it is your last But I think, a message only truely sticks with one if you really have to dig deep, question the lines, and after a long time of thinking, finally coming to a conclusion But well in this novel the conclusion (that you should actually try to figure out yourself) just was too obvious Though, for younger people I can imagine it to be as "life-changing" as advertised
the silent patient is truly a work of arttt- if you want more thriller recs: The Woman in the Window (they're making a movie!!), Then She Was Gone, and In a Dark, Dark Wood! *also Daisy Jones and the Six is a phenomenal book!!*
Karen McManus is also writing a third book in the one of us series!! It’s going be called one of us is back!! Although it won’t be out until summer of 2023, which is sort of a bummer. But I’m still super excited because I love those books!
I just finished watching One of Us is Lying and I really do recommend it! The curiosity and thrill is consistent throughout the whole book. I also love how it's not complicated to read, sometimes that can be a little boresome but this has a good flow with it's story telling. 10/10 :)
Sally Rooney also wrote “conversations with friends” which is amazing!!!! So fully recommend that And the author of one of us is lying wrote another series “the cousins” definitly give it a go
The Silent Patient was sooo good. It was a twist I didn't expect at all. The only other book I've read with a twist like that was All These Beautiful Strangers by Elizabeth Klehfoth. It was kind of hard for me to get into, but towards the end it was hard to put down
If your younger ( like 10-13 ) I recommend “holes” by Louis sachar it’s really good and has an amazing plot twist at the end. I read it in school, and it left me like 😲🤭
Book Recs, if you haven’t already read them: 1984 - George Orwell The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde The Bell Jar - Sylvia Plath The Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams Song of Achilles - Madeline Miller The Phantom of the Opera - Gaston Leroux Dracula - Bram Stoker The Time Machine - H. G. Wells A Clockwork Orange - Anthony Burgress Don Quixote - Miguel De Cervantes The Grapes of Wrath - John Steinbeck I know what you’re thinking, random mix, dont @ me for my mixed book taste
I’m sure everyone has read, watched the movie or at least heard of “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” but I just finished it and highlyyyy recommend for anyone
Let me put you on an author: Natasha Preston, her books are amazing! Some of my favs of hers are Silence (it's a series), The Cellar, You Will Be Mine, The Cabin, The Twin, Awake, The Lost, and she has so many more good books! Happy reading and I love your videos girl 🙌🏼💕
I think you’d love “into the water” it’s a mystery thriller and it’s written by the same author who wrote “the girl on the train.” Its well written with so many layers in the story, I binge read it and honestly it kept me constantly guessing trying to figure out the ending. I think it’d be ur vibe on a day your feeling like a good thriller book and u could probably read it in a week or two :))
definitely "Firekeepers Daughter" by Angeline Boulley because of all the beautiful native american culture AND you totally get a feel for what its like to be so impermeably connected to both the family and the collective
I highly recommend The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson! It's a psychological thriller that's hard to put down and the plot twists in it are so unexpected. For some reason, you can't help but root for Lily, the woman committing all these murders, her reasons are just so justifiable. The plot twists actually left me speechless!
I think you’d like anything by Lisa Jewell (“then she was gone” and “watching you” are particularly good). She writes mystery/thriller novels that are super easy to read
Girl you hit all the high notes!!! So many of my favs were mentioned in this, and so many books that I'm so excited to read! Thank you SO MUCH for this series! I LOVE! Also, LOVE LOVE LOVE your new jewelry collection with Hannah! And hey, my name's Ava too!
I was left feeling the same way after the silent patient. I almost had a hard time reading after because that book was so good I felt like no other books compared 😍❤️
a personal psychological-thriller fave is “what she knew” by gilly mcmillan. for a book similar to “the silent patient” try “behind closed doors” by B.A. Paris.
if u want something a little like the one of us is lying series, read the "the perfectionists" series (2 books) by sara shepard! after finishing them i literally needed to stop reading for a whole week because i was so shocked HAHA - much love, maja
@@diyas2901 to be fair, this was one of the first 5 books i read coming back into reading and i’ve read at least 100 books since this post lmao!!! so yes i would agree NOW that colleen hoover is definitely not the pinnacle of literature. however, this book is still one of the ones i actually liked by her. not a huge fan of the others.
For anyone willing to read this, there is another book by this writer, which has some relations to “Salt To The Sea” . It is called “ Between The Shades Of Grey”. Salt to the sea is about a girl running for her freedom alongside other unfortunate people like her. Whereas Between the Shades of Grey is about a girl and her family being exiled. Both stories are based on true events. They are a great read for teens
*A thousand splendid suns-khaled hosseini *Kite runner-Khaled Hosseini *Six of crows duology-Leigh Bardugo *The infernal devices-Cassandra claire *Rebecca *7 husbands of Evelyn Hugo *The night circus For a start that should be fine 😅
i’m not sure if you like fantasy books but six of crows was so good!! it’s not too big on magic but i love the characters, they’re all so different from each other. they’re also making a show adaptation that will be out very soon
book recs, underrated book edition: the astonishing color of after by emily x.r. pan lovely war by julie berry a very large expanse of sea by tahereh mafi fable by adrienne young girls with sharp sticks by suzanne young
call me crazy, but i love the after series and how realistic it is. i've only read a handful of books where i felt like i could genuinely step into the shoes of the character and have the events actually happen in real life--this series was one of those.
My book recommendations: - The vanishing half by Brit Bennett - The hate you give by Angie Thomas - conversions with friends by sally rooney - Girl, woman, other by Bernardine Evaristo - Memorial by Bryan Washington - A man called Ove by Fredrick backman
A couple years back I read this book called Prisoner of Night and Fog. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who likes murder mysteries, romance, historical fiction, or all three. I reread it so many times and I loved the sequel Conspiracy of Blood and Smoke. Such a good duo if you’re history nerd like me :)
Finally, books that sound really interesting beside just manga. Thank you! :) I also just got into reading. I hated reading when I was small and most my life but I think I hated it cuz I didn’t find the right book for me. Now I love to read :)
@@ritabritaghosh24 I read a few books ummm There was gone girl ngl I didn’t like that one xD I literally expected it before I read it. I also read the fallen prince, girl taken, this other scary book and I’m reading right now what kind of mother are you? :)
hey!! you should read "two can keep a secret" by the same author as one of us is lying. I read right after I read the two books (one of us is lying and of us is next) and I absolutely loved it
Some great books to read: -Secret Life of Bees -anything written by Jodi Picoult top ones include House Rules, Spark of Light, The Book of Two Ways, My Sisters Keeper, and Small Great Things (esp. if you like multiple character perspectives) -The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime -Little Fires Everywhere -Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin (particularly if you're into like Bridgerton and that era). Jane Austin is exceptional! -Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children (an awesome series!!) I am sure there are many more I could recommend but these are just off the top of my head!
Ava I think you’d love Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens!! So much of the story lines in centred around the main womens connection with nature. She has lived in a marsh alone in the South of America since she was a girl, meaning she in shunned from society and when a man is found murdered in the marsh she is the main suspect. It’s the most beautiful story of independence, loneliness and finding love within herself, others and nature.🤍🌺🌼🪴🌿🍄

Also, the message of the book ist so clear that you dont really get attached to it: Live every day as if it is your last
But I think, a message only truely sticks with one if you really have to dig deep, question the lines, and after a long time of thinking, finally coming to a conclusion
But well in this novel the conclusion (that you should actually try to figure out yourself) just was too obvious
Though, for younger people I can imagine it to be as "life-changing" as advertised
I'm so obsessed with Adam Silvera's writing. I can't wait for Here's to Us to come out in Dec!!
you literally talked about all the books I loved PLEASE MAKE MORE RECOMMENDATIONS!!!!
the silent patient is truly a work of arttt- if you want more thriller recs: The Woman in the Window (they're making a movie!!), Then She Was Gone, and In a Dark, Dark Wood! *also Daisy Jones and the Six is a phenomenal book!!*
read the selection series! it has multiple books, and such good cliff hangers and plot twists!
If you like the selection read the royals
Karen McManus is also writing a third book in the one of us series!! It’s going be called one of us is back!! Although it won’t be out until summer of 2023, which is sort of a bummer. But I’m still super excited because I love those books!
wowowow!!! that's so exciting!
So fully recommend that
And the author of one of us is lying wrote another series “the cousins” definitly give it a go
The Silent Patient was sooo good.
I read it in school, and it left me like 😲🤭
Ava!! I read the silent patient in literally a day in a half! Love the book recommendation videos btw 💕
i would recommend reading a fault in our stars by john green, it will certainly make you feel something
Book Recs, if you haven’t already read them:
1984 - George Orwell
The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde
The Bell Jar - Sylvia Plath
The Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams
Song of Achilles - Madeline Miller
The Phantom of the Opera - Gaston Leroux
Dracula - Bram Stoker
The Time Machine - H. G. Wells
A Clockwork Orange - Anthony Burgress
Don Quixote - Miguel De Cervantes
The Grapes of Wrath - John Steinbeck
I know what you’re thinking, random mix, dont @ me for my mixed book taste
I’m sure everyone has read, watched the movie or at least heard of “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” but I just finished it and highlyyyy recommend for anyone
Who's the author? :)
"Rook" and "All The Light We Cannot See' are both spectacular reads! Both are mind bending, heart wrenching and absolutely glorious.
The rook by frost kay?
If you haven't read Normal People, you should! Only reading it because Ava recommended it like a long time ago 😅 thank you babe ❤️😘
I think you’d like anything by Lisa Jewell (“then she was gone” and “watching you” are particularly good). She writes mystery/thriller novels that are super easy to read
OMG I read 'then she was gone' it was pretty good. Definitely recommend!
Currently I'm reading misery, its sooo good, I also would recommend the great Gatsby!
Paris.
Behind closed doors needs a trigger warning too
if u want something a little like the one of us is lying series, read the "the perfectionists" series (2 books) by sara shepard! after finishing them i literally needed to stop reading for a whole week because i was so shocked HAHA
- much love, maja
it ends with us by Colleen Hoover is such a great read! I read it in a few days and laughed and cried my way through... ❤
ikrr i read it in one sitting
What nooo.... it's not good🔪🌚
@@diyas2901 to be fair, this was one of the first 5 books i read coming back into reading and i’ve read at least 100 books since this post lmao!!! so yes i would agree NOW that colleen hoover is definitely not the pinnacle of literature. however, this book is still one of the ones i actually liked by her. not a huge fan of the others.
Hi queen this is your reminder that One Of Us Is Lying the tv show is officially online!
Verity by Colleen Hoover is one you would probably like a lot. I loved it!
Still kinda traumatised by it 😬
The silent patient will literally leave you silent, im not even kidding i was so shook, its CRAZY
i just finished it like an hour or two ago. im shocked. i need to talk to someone about it
being 17 years old, this is the best book I have read. I read the last chapter twice to trust my own self. that's just fabulous
LMAO SAME...did it faintly remind anyone of The murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie.....?
Salt to the sea by Ruta Sepetys is one of my favourite books ever!
They are a great read for teens
when i tell you this is the best author in history.
YESSS, we love to see this booktube side of ava
*A thousand splendid suns-khaled hosseini
*Kite runner-Khaled Hosseini
*Six of crows duology-Leigh Bardugo
*The infernal devices-Cassandra claire
*Rebecca
*7 husbands of Evelyn Hugo
*The night circus
For a start that should be fine 😅
i’m not sure if you like fantasy books but six of crows was so good!! it’s not too big on magic but i love the characters, they’re all so different from each other. they’re also making a show adaptation that will be out very soon
book recs, underrated book edition:
the astonishing color of after by emily x.r. pan
lovely war by julie berry
a very large expanse of sea by tahereh mafi
fable by adrienne young
girls with sharp sticks by suzanne young
because she mentioned twilight in all it’s holiness, i will read every single one of these books
call me crazy, but i love the after series and how realistic it is. i've only read a handful of books where i felt like i could genuinely step into the shoes of the character and have the events actually happen in real life--this series was one of those.
My book recommendations:
- The vanishing half by Brit Bennett
- The hate you give by Angie Thomas
- conversions with friends by sally rooney
- Girl, woman, other by Bernardine Evaristo
- Memorial by Bryan Washington
- A man called Ove by Fredrick backman
A couple years back I read this book called Prisoner of Night and Fog. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who likes murder mysteries, romance, historical fiction, or all three. I reread it so many times and I loved the sequel Conspiracy of Blood and Smoke. Such a good duo if you’re history nerd like me :)
U should read “and then there was none” it’s a good quick mystery
Yes!!! Its amazing
Finally, books that sound really interesting beside just manga. Thank you! :)
I also just got into reading. I hated reading when I was small and most my life but I think I hated it cuz I didn’t find the right book for me. Now I love to read :)
Which book did u read?
@@ritabritaghosh24 I read a few books ummm
There was gone girl ngl I didn’t like that one xD I literally expected it before I read it. I also read the fallen prince, girl taken, this other scary book and I’m reading right now what kind of mother are you? :)
@@lemmytoad8569 Tbh , I am a beginner rn! I read Thea Stilton and Geronimo series and I loved it..Now , I am waiting to read The Sun is also a star..
@@ritabritaghosh24 whoaaa that’s nice! That’s cool we both are bigger readers!:DD what type of genre r ur books?:)) do u recommend them?:>
@@lemmytoad8569 Well , I love ENEMIES to LOVERS , Fantasy👀🤧!! I specifically don't recommend..but if you wanna know then I can!
hey!! you should read "two can keep a secret" by the same author as one of us is lying. I read right after I read the two books (one of us is lying and of us is next) and I absolutely loved it
Some great books to read:
-Secret Life of Bees
-anything written by Jodi Picoult top ones include House Rules, Spark of Light, The Book of Two Ways, My Sisters Keeper, and Small Great Things (esp. if you like multiple character perspectives)
-The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime
-Little Fires Everywhere
-Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin (particularly if you're into like Bridgerton and that era). Jane Austin is exceptional!
-Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children (an awesome series!!)
I am sure there are many more I could recommend but these are just off the top of my head!
The Silent Patient is SO good! I definitely recommend if you’re into thrillers.
omg yesss! i’m a huge book worm, so i am soooo excited! 🥰🤍
The silent patient is my new favorite book!!!
Girl if you’re looking for a book that’ll freak you out but it’ll keep you interested you’re literally looking for Sharp Objects! Go get it
Omg si awesome right? Loved that book
ahh i’ve read genuine fraud so many times, it’s one of my all-time favorites! i’m so glad to see it getting the hype it deserves
It’s the most beautiful story of independence, loneliness and finding love within herself, others and nature.🤍🌺🌼🪴🌿🍄
ava u need to read colleen Hoover books! Specifically “It Ends With Us”
just finished reading “tuesdays with morrie” and it’s such a good/sad read :,(, i recommend!!
such an amazing book!!!!!!
If you liked the "One of Us is Lying" series you should definitely read 'Two Can Keep a Secret' by Karen McManus. It's was so good and I definitely didn't expect the end. 🥰 🧚♀️
lore was SUCHHHH a great book. perfect mix of greek mythology with a modern dystopian twist (like percy jackson + hunger games)
OK! SO I JUST FINISHED SILENT PATIENT AND NOW I AM JUST SOSOSOSOSOSOOSSO SHOCKED LIKE THE TWIST REALLY KILLED ME.I-.................
