      But honestly, the last part of the book was AGONIZING when I thought they weren’t gonna end up together. I’m so thankful for the epilogue.

    I see the comments where everybody was so disappointed in the book. I, personally, liked the book very much. I really like the characters. In the beginning they were all stereotypical and nothing special, but as I made progress through out the book, the characters had developed into very likeable people, for me at least. ( especially Addy , her personally in the beginning was nonexistent). I really loved the plot twist with the suicide, Jake etc.. also the romance between Bronwyn and Nate was really cute tbh.
    Overall, the book is really enjoyable.

    I think that the author made Addy cheat on Jake to show us how insecure he made her feel, but it was just portrayed really poorly.

    • @El-de6nj
      @El-de6nj 3 роки тому +9

      something i enjoyed is how we didn't live through the cheating through addys eyes in her PoV. we were told solely through her inner conscience, which made it difficult to relate and understand her. They never really expanded on Addy becoming more independent without Jake, but maybe im misinterpreting things.

  • @anatomicalpuppet
    @anatomicalpuppet 6 років тому +366

    Maybe I misunderstood while reading, but (if I’m not mistaken) Addy’s cheating on Jake was one of Jake’s main motivators in helping Simon. It gave him an opportunity to get back at Addy. In addition, this may just be how I saw it, Jake’s reaction to being cheated on was a bit exaggerated, but surprisingly realistic for being acting. Idk, maybe I’m wrong, it’s been a week or so since I finished it.

      So, I came to this video as their is a sequel to the book, and I was so confused so I came here, But I feel as if Jake getting cheated on gave him a reason to act like a shitty person to Addy, like, she thought she deserved it, but almost seemed like Jake wanted her to cheat on him.

    On the note of normalizing cheating- I feel like its COMPLETELY brushed over that Cooper also cheated. Its so common that cheating is excused when its an LGBTQ+ character and they cheat in the name of "exploration." Its a really harmful trope that contributes to poor representation and it was so frustrating how obvious the double standard was when him cheating was not acknowledged at all by any other character.

    I didn't hate this book but it's was one of the most disappointing reads for me in a long time. You get so invested in the growth of the characters that it would have been PERFECT for one of them to have actually been the killer. Another alternative was Bronwyn's sister being the killer; that would have been really good too. I think I'm just salty the entire book is one giant red herring lol.

  • @BrightNeonBrilliancy
    @BrightNeonBrilliancy 6 років тому +1355

    Personally, I was kinda disappointed that it wasn't any of the main 4 that committed the murder. I would have been so much more impressed that way, rather than having it pull a last minute 'It was THIS side- character all along!'. I kinda guessed the Simon suicide thing considering the way he was talking during the detention scene- way too pretentious for a normal teen, so he clearly had some sort of dramatic reason (like epic last words sort of thing). Also, a small thing was the fact that Bronwyn and Nate didn't end up together. I know, realistically, high school romances don't tend to last in the real world. But in the book, the last couple of chapters are emotionally driven by Bronwyn's desperation to get Nate out of jail. And then, suddenly, 3 months later...they're barely talking. She's dating a dude who was briefly referenced at the very beginning of the novel, who totally disappeared during the time when Bronwyn was being accused of murder. I don't know. It just felt really wrong and random. One major plus for me in this book was the character of Addy. I thought for sure I'd like her the least since she started out as a girl who literally wanted to climb into her boyfriend just to become one with him, but then she became an independent bad ass.

    • @xxmakeuplover05xx

      I thought it was pretty clever. I mean the book title in itself is a Red Herring (which a lot of authors tend to use in their novels), so I knew it wasn't going to be any of them. However, as I read I couldn't help from jumping to the "Bayview Four" and wondering. I think that it wouldn't have been the same if one of them ha actually done it. In fact, that's TOO obvious. I liked that Simon ended up being his own killer. It showed that some people will do ANYTHING for attention, even if it means offing themselves

      I was WAITING the whole damn book thinking one of the 4 of them was the killer, but hoping that none of them were. The title had me thinking that all 4 of them were suspects, and at least one of them was either changing or purposely leaving things out of their narrative. I became so emotionally invested to each of the character's stories, and I was on my toes searching for a small hint that would point to which one was the murderer. I was relieved that none of them were, but I was also just a little put disappointed just like you were. But I didn't think that they just scrapped together Simon for the story. I thought it was well thought out. Jake and Janae's involvement was a little bit less believable to me, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the book! I'm trying to read a book a week this year, and this was the first book I picked up in a while. Even though I had some "if I were the author I would've..." moments, it was still very well written, and the story was very clever and brought up a lot of emotions.

In particular how it was called ONE OF US IS LYING yet none of them were lying because they didn't kill Simon! EXACLTY! OMGG 🙄🙄 See, that's the thing though. I had a feeling it was suicide and a particular line in the book when they all met in a half-finished house for the first time to compare notes almost confirmed it when Nate said something along the lines of "It can't be any of these people" and he said he was beginning to like them and all. So I was like, ok maYBE BECAUSE IT'S NOT!?? Then I looked at the cover for the 50th time since reading (I do that a lot when I'm read I book, idk why) and I was like well shit, then wHO'S LYING?!

    I just finished this book and enjoyed it for the most part. I liked the development of the friendship between the 4 main characters, and they all seemed like their own distinct person. My biggest issue with the book were the reasons Simon framed them. The reasons didn't seem serious enough to me for him to do what be did. I had a similar issue with 13 Reasons Why for most of the people she blamed.

    • @typicalbecca6002
      @typicalbecca6002 5 років тому +17

      I thought I was the only one who thought that! I mean seriously, the reason he chose Nate was ridiculous. Yeah, keely kissed him but it wasn’t anything more than that. It’s not like they started dating after that. And Nate didn’t even know that Simon liked keely at all, so he didn’t do it on purpose-or in spite of Simon.

      what i believe is that it was never the MCs themselves that were the issue. it's the fact that Simon blamed everyone around him as a whole for his depression. I don't think it was ever about Browlyn cheating on a single test, but rather that she was succeeding in ways that Simon never could.
      But, it doesn't change the fact that the motives were underwhelming. i was expecting a reveal, but we never really got that. the book never really went into depth explaining Simons motives. it's a whole lot of effort for a few people who's personal problems hardly relate to you

And Simon didn’t care if Jake got caught because he would be dead and it was revenge because Jake ditched him for Cooper, that was why Cooper was part of it and because he got Simon disinvited to the prom-afterparty and Addy because she cheated on Jake, Bronwyn because she cheated in Chemistry and she gave Simon the wrong deadline that got him disqualified. And Nate because he thought that there was actually something between him and Keely, and Nate just hooked up with her at a party without giving a damn. JEEZ THIS TOOK FOREVER TO TYPE

    I really liked this book when I read it, it plays into every highschool cliche out there, but it does it in a self aware satire way the makes it completely new. (Spoilers from this piont on) One thing I would say I didn't like, is Cooper was given such a chance for an intense charater arch of self descovery, and going for what you want in life, but that was completely pushed aside to favor the other romances. Maybe I'm just biased for a good gay couple but I felt like Cooper and his boyfriend (forget his name) could of had so much more, and added more depth to the story. Cooper seemed to overcome every single one of his struggles with a shrug and a inspirational granny talk. I just felt that more could have been done to add more to Cooper's struggle and character. Even at the end Cooper's father troubles ended with a granny talk, and his boyfriend troubles ended with a kiss in public, it's a sweet touch but it barely scratched the surface of struggles for a highschool kid that got outted, I don't want to deter anyone from reading this book because it is amazing, but I think it could have been more, without taking away from the plot.

      As someone who struggles with internalized homophobia i totally agree. And i really hoped for a talk between cooper and his dad at the end of the book which would've been perfect for a character development on both sides (for father and son) but it never happend and it really disappointed me. The whole coming out thing bothered me too. The fact that the author described Addy breaking the news about cheating to her boyfriend with so many emotions but didn't even mention any emotion when Cooper came out to his family was really disappointing. It was as if cooper was only somewhat nervous but that's it

    • @El-de6nj
      @El-de6nj 3 роки тому

      i enjoys cooper's PoV the most, because a few moments of his really resonated with me.
      i originally thought Kris was his steroid dealer, since i'm pretty (not entirely) sure steroids are illegal if bought in huge masses. But, the reveal of them being romantic was a welcome surprise!
      one thing i did dislike was how it doesn't really affect anything. it's more of just "The reveal of the police being evil made all the problems get solved!!!"
      it felt like a setup for an interesting plot point that was solved a tad bit unnaturally. Something i was a little excited for was seeing how the whole murder thing could affect kris, but his lack of involvement with anything just made him feel a bit like an add on.
      not every character has to be a fully developed main character, but he felt a tad more shallow than the other side characters who didn't really offer much. the fact that cooper was gay changed things, but kris did not.
      then again , read the book a while ago, so maybe im misremembering

    I read this book at the beginning of the year and I loved it!! I agree with the pet peeves about the cheating; especially with Cooper, I felt that even though he was still in the closet, it didn’t make it right to lead his girlfriend on (I can’t remember her name ooops)
    I looooved Nate and Bronwyn’s romance, and I loved the character development throughout the book, ESPECIALLY Addy. But I was kinda disappointed as I thought there would be more mystery/crime elements, but overall I ate it up, I highly enjoyed it!! :)

      I think him and Keely was kind of sad because he really didn't know what to do with her and could not be himself, but she was a good part of the book because you could see how miserable and confused Cooper was before he came out. She did care for him when he came out which was so cute and she understood why everything happened the way it did. I like that they ended up being friends at the end.

    I really enjoyed this book because I think it really did a YA mystery book. Often YA mystery is just a mystery book with young people in it but this book combined the tropes of YA with is good mystery tale embedded. Also this review is super cool and I’m really glad to have found a reviewer who reviews books I actually like in an interesting way.

    I loved this book honestly! I really liked Addy and her character arc was probably my favorite. I liked seeing her discover that she didn't need anyone to make her a person, that she was already whole on her own. as for her cheating, I felt like she did experience consequences and she really did feel awful for it. she was ostracized by basically the whole school except for the other mains and she was punishing herself heavily for it. idk, I didn't feel like she didn't have consequences for what she did. I have that issue too so I just related to her a lot. Bronwyn was my least favorite character, I liked her and Nates romance and her interactions with other characters, but I really didn't like her on her own and she seemed like the common trope of a naturally pretty nerd girl who "isn't like the other girls" and has no real flaws.

    I really loved this read! (Besides that cafeteria kissing scene you mentioned! Like I stopped reading for a minute and was like 'what the fuck??" Like literally why would Bronwyn, someone who is pretty much reserved, just stand up and kiss Nate and the whole cafeteria acknowledge that???? It sounded so cliched. Like what high school does this happen in? Their cafeteria must be in a 2x2 room cause if something like that had ever happened while I was in school half of the cafeteria wouldn't even notice.)
    I think the Addy cheating thing was put in to spur on Jake's roll in the aftermath of Simon's death. Other than that, her cheating could also allude to her subconscious knowledge of Jake not being right for her, and finding a bit of what WAS RIGHT in TJ.
    What I didn't understand was the need for the car crash? Like couldn't Simon just have slipped peanut oil into his drink himself (It was never mentioned if he did or not but if magically, the crash distracted everyone in the room and Jake slipped in to put in the peanut oil in what was the point?? But then again, Jake couldn't have slipped in and done that because Luis said he was still at practice). Or why didn't Simon just keep his water bottle and poison that? This would've completely rid any necessity for the crash. I just finished reading the book so this is all fresh in my mind btw.
    ALSO why did Jake flip out the way he did when Addy told him she cheated. He already knew. Maybe it could add to his psychotic tendencies? Or it reopened the wound for him? ALSO ALSO Why didn't he want to take TJ down with her and add him into the mix instead of just solely blaming Addy for the cheating?
    Anyways that's all I had to say. Overall, I loved this book. Thanks for suggesting this read, wife! xx

    • @GeorginasJourney
      @GeorginasJourney 3 роки тому +6

      Hi! I just read it! So, Simon put the peanut oil in his own cup, not Jake! & the reason it was in the cup & not his water bottle was to make it look more likely that someone else had done it to him!
      Jake freaked out when he found out about Addy cheating as he was acting- he didn’t want her to know he knew anything so that she wouldn’t suspect that he was in on it!

    I just finished a book and dove right for my laptop upon completion to google the kids on the cover. Weird, I know. But I'm a visual person so it's always something I look forward to do after reading a good book (especially when there's a movie out!) and constructing a mental image of all the characters in my head, then comparing them to how they might actually look.
    I found this review in google images, where I saw the thumbnail and a snippet of the description. I clicked on it almost immediately after seeing the word "RANT," since I loved the book (but did have a few disappointments, quite similar to the ones you stated), and wanted to hear this "rant" about such a good book. LOVED your review btw! It's so honest and relatable, and it's clear that you liked the book but didn't sugarcoat the review due to it - Which I appreciate.

    I thought it was Cooper until we found out his secret with Kris just because he was always a bit sketchy and I felt like I really didn't know anything about him. But once he was outed in the cafeteria I was like it couldn't be him. I always had my money on TJ or Jake just because it's always the people you least expect and most roved from the story but still mentioned. I kinda guessed that Simon committed suicide scince he was talking so much about school shootings but I never really thought it was an actual possibility. Overall this book was amazing and a quick read. I was a little disappointed by how much the ending focused on Bronwyn and Nate even though the didn't get back together. Honestly, I was kinda expecting the last chapter to be from Jake or even Janae's POV but the book was amazing nonetheless and thanks for your review!

    I love this book so much. I read it last week, and I was in love. I agree when you said romance is always the main focus and the rest of the book is on the back pedal. But the author made the perfect balance. I think it was a smart ideal to make it where you can see each characters point of view, because you would read Bronwyn entry and then want to read Nate's.
    The reason why Simon went to Jake was because they used to be best Friends and also because Jake wanted revenge.

I know many people don't like Bronwyn, but as someone who sees myself in her a bit (academic pressure, things like that), I found her cheating plot really good and for me, since she was so smart and caring, it made her chapters so fun to read. and Nate is just...Nate. (spoilers) I LOVE this book, I think I was a little relieved to know that none of the 4 was the murderer, maybe I had the small hope that it was a secondary character but I am not complaining. i think my only problem is that the book focuses so much on bronwyn and nate's romanze that in the end they hardly gave cooper and addy an epilogue. for me their romance was the least interesting, Copper had a great story and they did not give her more than a few sentences in the epilogue, the same for Addy, they only tell you that she grew her hair. I personally loved the development of Addy, she went from being a kind of pet for the boyfriend to being an independent baddie, she is my favorite character and I love her.

I don't know if the author did that so she didn't show her fans that she was (in a way) descriminating against gays, or that she didn't want the reader or overall public to think that she could allegedly be homophobic. I had a suspicion that it was Addy who had killed Simon; I felt as if she was the most suspicious and nervous. I hadn't actually been reading for pleasure in years, and this book was exactly what i needed to get back into the game. I think my peeves were the exact same as yours, like when Nate was like "we both live in two different worlds *looks up dramatically* this could never work" at the end but the epilogue showed that they will probably be back together after a while. Overall this book was a wild ride, and I loved your review of it. I never thought I'd be looking up a book review on youtube, but man I'm glad I did! Subbed! I can’t tell you HOW pained I was at the end, like, my heart was in ashes. Absolute ASHES. Bronwyn and Nate were my favorite parts because of their relationship and stories. But after that epilogue? Like, painful. I’m still going through PTSD afterwards.

    6:35 yeah I agree it's pretty messed up for books to normalize cheating on your partner. Infidelity is for people who are either cowards or so self obsessed they are incapable of caring if they hurt others. This is 2019 why not just approach your partner about having an open relationship or a threesome or whatever. No need to sneak around behind their back and permanently give them trust issues and cause a bunch of psychological problems they will have to work through. Being betrayed by someone you deeply care about is really traumatic and if you purposefully do that to someone you are a horrible person. No excuses. There is nothing that justifies cheating. Why not just dump your partner? Anyway I instantly despise any character that does this in any book (and real life people too). I especially hate how the authors try to justify it like uhhh nope, not working for me. I usually DNF any book that does this because it's just so repulsive and impossible to relate to the main character anymore.

    SPOILER ALERTS - DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU'VE READ THE WHOLE BOOK.
    I loved this book, I read it in one day!
    I enjoyed this book as much as you but some of Addy's chapters really infuriated me because she came across as a needy little prom queen who needed constant attention but towards the end, I started liking her a lot more when she became a little more badass and I think that Addy was a really sweet girl. I really liked Bronwyn but it annoyed me when it seemed like she was a perfect over-achiever so I didn't really care when I found out she cheated but I was quite shocked. I don't really know what I though of Cooper, but I liked him. He came across in a very matter-of-fact way and I liked that about his chapters. I did quite like Nate but I feel like he felt a bit sorry for himself in a way but didn't want to show it. Understandable with his whole life and background but something made me feel like he just wanted love. Not in an attention-seeking way but in a more sort of "I've been strong too long" way. His Dad never gave him much affection and he hardly ever saw his mom.
    I was suprised to find out who killed Simon, because the title was a bit misleading. I thought it would either be Bronwyn, Nate, Addy or Cooper suggested by the title but when I found out Simon was depressed, I instantly know who it was and why. I felt sorry for Simon in a way. He made About That so that he'd finally get attention, but he should've asked for help. Though I'm glad he didn't because then there might be no "One Of Us Is Lying". I honestly think Jake was just such a passive aggressive control freak ever since he was introduced to the book, especially when he told Addy to change, after her chat with Ashton and she had to get into a car with him and TJ? I was pissed when Jake smashed Addy's head against a rock because he had already known she slept with TJ ages ago, so yes she lied to him, but he lied to her and 2 wrongs don't make a right. Honestly, I think he should've appreciated her even telling him, because that's a hard thing to admit to doing and she already felt rubbish about it. I liked TJ, he really wanted to make up for it and just be friends which I think was really sweet. Vanessa was just a brat to be entirely honest.
    When I found out Simon committed suicide, (even though I'd worked it out) I wasn't very shocked, a little more disappointed. If it had been one of the 4 main characters, it'd been more thrilling and maybe even would've given the possibility for a second book. But I loved the book. I actually want to become an author and this book has given me great ideas.
    BUT WHY UYBDGIUBGV WHTA THE FUCK I WANTED TO KILL EVAN GVJ GV NO WHY DIDN'T BRONWYN AND NATE JUST STAY TOGETHER THEY WERE SO QT OMG I SWEAR

    Soooo- I'm late but I literally finished this in ONE day... because I've been having a huge reading slump and this got me out of the reading slump...I loved the writing style- super fast-paced, never took a break reading this- I kept making theories on who could've done it (at one point I even said LUIS- ik this is absurddd lmaoo)- and when they revealed it was *SPOILERRR* Simon himself I was SO disappointed. The Jake thing was so surprising!!! but All the build up for this disappointing ending?!?!?! Idk how to feel abt this :(( I trusted the book so much lol

    Hey, I loved the book and great review. Just a little disagreement from me. I think Addy cheating was acknowledged. She was the whole prom queen imagine and she lost this. Her friends excluded her and it brought her down to earth, it was this fall from grace that let her befriend Janae and ultimately find out about the whole plan. So in my opinion it wasn’t glossed over it was actually super relevant

    There were a few small things that annoyed me so much; one being Nates (cliche) drunk dad, the guy was basically comatose and no one seemed to think that was concerning in anyway? And one line about an article coming up on buzzfeed about Cooper coming out of the gym, like as if bf (or any news site) would sexualize an underage murder suspect. And why they became celebrities at all, would they have even been named in the news irl? This book was stupid af

    SPOILER ALERT🚨 🚨 🚨
    I just finished the book and towards the end when we find out that jake knew the whole time that addy cheated on him, I came to a semi conclusion that Jake was overreacting on purpose bc he couldn’t be that shocked if he knew the whole time. He even purposely put Addy in uncomfortable situations, for example, making her change into uncomfortable clothes to the beach and on the way there TJ was sitting in the back bc Jake insisted that he comes. That’s just my opinion, but I really liked your review video!

    I actually really liked the plot twists and most of the characters. I know that was the biggest disappointment for most people, but it seemed to fit best for the characters (also the ending of the second book kind of shows how Karen isn’t the best at writing seemingly-innocent-character-actually-has-a-really-dark-murder-side thing. The biggest disappointment came from how Karen, a straight white women, handled the treatment of her non-white non-straight characters. Bronwyn’s Latina, and to quote Lele Pons, I’m Latina. And since her ethnicity was never really brought up as something important, for a while I was thinking, “Yes, we don’t need a reason for Latinx representation; she’s just hanging out with everyone else without her face being brought into the conversation, as it should be.” Then, through Addy’s, a white character’s, perspective, we find out that Bronwyn and her family have been receiving more hate comments than others because of their Latin American heritage. I mean, it’s probably not the best that we see this through a white character but at least we can have a conversation about the specific thread of racism we Hispanic and Latin people face- Oh. There’s no discussion? The fact that a character gets racially charged comments is addressed through a white character’s lens and then never again? Ok then.
    Now with Cooper. I hate that the fact Cooper was cheating with a boy, not a girl, is meant to be a plot twist. Especially since many people’s family, including some of my own, act like someone being into the same gender is some kind of big reveal that changes everything. So maybe don’t actively go out of your way to actually make it a big reveal that changes everything. We also barely see Kris. His very existence is supposed to be a huge deal but then he just - isn’t. Have some filler scenes of him and Cooper being cute to show that he’s smart or whatever, that way it doesn’t come out of nowhere when Kris, someone who barley knows any of the characters (except Cooper) and who the reader barely knows, solve most of the major mysteries like it’s nothing. It’s like what happened with the Rojas’ in reverse. With them, their ethnicity is supposed to be not a big deal, until they get actual online harassment because of it, then it’s a big deal, until it isn’t anymore. Cooper and Kris’s relationship is a super big plot-twist, until it isn’t and they’re just kind of there dealing with the fallout of everyone knowing, until them together is a big deal again because it solves the whole mystery we’ve been trying to figure out.
    TL;DR: Karen should have just talked to me so that the treatment of her qu33r characters and characters of color didn’t feel like with was written 10 years ago

    I loved the book, but what’s triggering me is that I don’t remember the cafeteria scene. Likeeeee wut? I want to remember but I don’t. Help...
    And lol mini story:
    So I got this book back on February I think, and it was completely by accident. I wanted to get this cringey romance book, but my mom’s friend was at Barnes and Noble at the time and stopped me before I could get it. And I didn’t want her to see me getting some shit book like that bc I feel like she judges me enough and I just didn’t want to deal with her shît. So when she asked me what book I was getting, I just picked up the nearest book by me and that happened to be this book. I was hoping I could put it down and get the book I wanted once she left me, but she didn’t and I was getting impatient so I just got the damn book and left. I remember thinking to myself, “this book better be good, I better not be wasting my money on some shit mystery novel over some corny romance. Screw me.” Lol, glad that happened cause I really liked the book😂

      I think it was after cooper got outed and then he walked into the cafeteria the next day and everyone was making fun of him. Then Nate walked in a and stuck up for him. Made me like Nate a lil more.

    Addy should have been the "killer" and Josh was also in it but Josh got fooled because Addy killed Josh and in the epilogue she goes back to the crime scene and Simon is waiting for her? And they get together and leave. Nick and Bryony shouldn't have gotten back together it ruined it for me. Cooper should have been transgender.

    GUESS WHO JUST CAME FROM FINISHING THE BOOKKKK, HOLY GUACAMOLE IVE SEEN UR VID UP FOR A WHILE BUT I HAD TO PUT IT OFF, SO HAPPY IM HEREEE (okay imma use inside voice now 😂). I genuinely really liked this book, I became really invested in the plot and I haven’t been that way since I read crazy rich Asians. But I was lowkey disappointed in the climax and finale of the story
    *spoilers onwards*
    I was kinda annoyed with who dunnit. I was really rooting for one of the four, that would’ve been really interesting to see. Even tho I didn’t think that any of them did it half way through, I had my suspicions on Bronwyn (although seemed unlikely), otherwise Janae, the teacher or Maeve. I felt like turning it into a suicide was cliche and predictable.
    Oh and the whole Nate-Bronwyn thing...um hello??? Y’all were literally all over each other a second ago, now you can barely speak to her and you pull the “unworthy” card on her? That got me sooo annoyed. They were so sweet throughout the whole book and they really brought out the best in each other. I just found it a little unnecessary for them to suddenly break up (and the breakup wasn’t even that good, youd expect more emotion out of such a romantic relationship). I understand that things were complicated and Nate wasn’t in the right headspace, but they could’ve worked it out together. I’m just entirely grateful for the epilogue, otherwise I pretty much would’ve died.
    However, I loved the character development. I feel like each character, especially addy, changed into a better person and we learnt that they had more layers than what meets the eye. But I was once again disappointed, as I felt like they could’ve done more with Cooper and Nate.
    In conclusion, I give this book a good 8/10. I would recommend it to literally everyone I see, and I’m hoping that some of these problems will be fixed in the sequel. Can’t wait, and thanks for the video!! Loved it 💓

    I really liked the book even though the title was majorly misleading and „the killer“ was a group of side characters instead of one of the main characters like the name suggests.
    I‘ll be doing a book presentation on this book in class soon and it is up to me whether I want to reveal the end or just leave them guessing and keep up the tension. I’m not certain what I am going to do. Does anyone have a recommendation? I’m also not sure if there’s a lot to say about the book without including spoilers. :)
