SAVE MONEY!!! Plant Onions!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 10 лют 2025
- Planting onions has been one way we save on our grocery bill. Buying onion bundles can cost 10¢ or less, each. Planting them is very simple, pest pressures are minimal (non-existent for us), and they require very little throughout the growing season - some water and regular fertilizer until the onions start bulbing. We think it's a great beginner crop.
Onions store well with proper curing but we also use them in different canning recipes. Let us know in the comments if you grow onions...or if you will be growing them for the first time this year!

I'm waiting on seeds for the #survivalseed2025 challenge and I will be sowing inside for sure, within about 2 weeks. Best wishes on your onion starts taking hold 👍
Oh that sounds fun! What is that challenge? Excited for your onions too!
@@aboutsixacres Anyone can join the challenge and they send the seeds to you free. I have two videos, one for the veggie's and one for the herbs. You'll see #survivalseeds2025 and the links are in the description to follow and sign up. I hope you both consider joining in and there are so many other channels taking part 🙂
@@aboutsixacres I just remembered the title of your video says, Save Money.......I can't think of a better way to do that then with free seeds 😁
You are ahead of me for sure.
I hope you had a great vacation! Thankfully, the start of gardening season is very forgiving! It always feels like we could be doing more.
More evidence that Shawn and Gus are my toddlers when I try to garden.

@@Lilbitofeverythinghomestead thank you!
I like the helpful tip for the spacing of the trending! Thank you!
So glad this is helpful!
So jealous, we have at least a month, month and a half before we can plant outside.
It's so weird because come August, I'll be jealous that y'all are still harvesting and we'll be on the sidelines with the Texas heat!
@ true didn’t think of that
Its not too early?
@@justnina8023 it all depends on your expected last frost date. In North Texas (zone 8b), now is the best time to plant them. You can also start from seeds in the fall and transplant now. Other zones have slightly different timing. ☺️
