UH-60 Black Hawk: The Front Line Utility Helicopter
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 лют 2022
- U.S. Army's UH-60 Black Hawk is the Front Line Utility Helicopter was the result of lessons learned by the Army during the Vietnam War. While war in Southeast Asia validated the usefulness of helicopters in modern warfare, high helicopter and personnel losses led to a demand for a faster, better armored rotary-wing transport aircraft. The result was the now-iconic UH-60 “Black Hawk helicopter, the Army's front line utility helicopter for the past 40+ years.

The Black Hawk has always been my favourite looking helicopter. Just has such an iconic military special forces look to it.
Yeah same
It looks like a big ass flying submarine haha. It’s cool though
@@matthewgabbard6415 compared to a huey which i think resembles something between a blimp and a flying jelly bean
Same
@@matthewgabbard6415 look for the speedhawk, it's like a submarine with wings. So much so that I wouldn't be surprised if it actually has gone through the mind of someone at the DoD.
Its an honor to have piloted that beauty. Fly Army!
Can they just fly these over towns without a heads up or would it be for a specific reason only!? Thanks!!
I spent my entire 24 year Army career as Air Assault Infantry. I started in Hueys as they were being phased out and finished my career in Blackhawks. We LOVED the Blackhawk. Compared to the Huey it was a LOT quieter, smoother, faster and the "hell hole" was not nearly as bad.
Thank you for your service. Can you tell me about your work as an Army aviator and how you think it went?
We Albanians are very thankful for the 3 Black Hawks USA donated us.We also bought another 8 Black Hawks. These helicopters are amazing.
no we didnt we only have 3
No problem dudes, i had to look up your country to see if you were iraqi being an ass hole 😂, but yeah.
Glad y’all like em, hopefully they send more when we switch helicopters🇦🇱🇺🇸
Tahun ini Malaysia juga akan dapat pakai juga thanks america we can rent to try it first if good we buy more😅
Greece just bought 35 UH-60M wdym 💀
When it’s fully armed it looks naughty
Just a great machine, yes they've crashed, name a country with a domestic design that hasn't. Sometimes the problems happen at the worst times, called life. If you take its success over the few failures it proves to be a vital asset to whichever country its defending. The pilots who fly this machine are just as phenomenal as the bird itself for it takes a warrior to fly a warrior. Thank you
I love that GE makes my toaster and my Army's mini-gun 🤣
Much love & respect to the Blackhawk for taking me all around Afghanistan in safety.
Thanks to this current Administration, all the people that were trying to shoot you down over there are now flying around in the very things that were protecting you
@@dmand1111 Just trying to pay some respects to the BlackHawk & it’s crews, don’t need the negativity of BS politics…Thanks.

Right on brother....Thanks🇺🇸
I believe it's named after the Blackhawk tribe. Not the person. All the Army helicopters are named such: Iroquois (Huey), Kiowa, Apache, etc.
The Blackhawk is a beautiful looking machine.
Blackhawks just look so iconic, I love it
17 YO crew chief back in early 80’s - 90’s. It was such a great feeling to put on your zoom bags and see Germany, Korea, and all over the states! And a little time in the sandbox :)
Sound off with The Doors "The End" playing over the top of this is impeccable.
Rode in one of these for the first time today as part of an ESGR BossLift. It’s a floating monster with a butter smooth ride. Thanks Idaho Air Guard pilots for a great flight!
Today is 23 April 2023. I just caught the YEH 60B on flight radar heading west from Lexington Ky over my house , just wanted to share , I’m not positive but I think it’s the only one in existence. Pretty cool just wanted to share .
The best Legend
I always to see black hawk down film in the movies when I still in senior high school
The best history special forces.
Wow they can in situ reload from the cabin. That's badass.
The UH-60 Blackhawk is a beautiful helicopter, I want it to remain operational for many more decades, and never need to be replaced from the useless defiant x.
Useless? The defiant can fly much faster then the Blackhawk and can manuver in tighter spaces.
@@kdrapertrucker YES. The Blackhawk is a beautiful legendary helicopter, unlike the defiant x.
@@gianpaolovillani6321 legends are made, not born. People felt the same way about the Blackhawk when it came out, in comparison to the Huey. Give the Reliant time to forge its own stories, and your opinion may change.
Awesome HELICOPTER!💥😯👏🏿👏🏿😁👍🏿
You listed several variations of the UH-60's... Did you forget about the Navy's SH-60 SeaHawk??
Croatia received two as a gift from US Army (others are bought) and I can't wait to see what are these capable of. Combined with various equipment we bought from the US, this should provide a real strategic capabilities and advantage. Hopefully Rafale will be a great addition to the equation for air forces.
I hope we select Abrams as MBT in the future to ensure full circle for armed forces.
Thank God for our American friends, they have done so much for Croatia since our war with serbia/jugoslavia. We now must show the US our loyalty and back them in every conflict
Black Hawk is indeed the pinnacle of helicopters. China bought a batch of such helicopters 30 years ago. Unfortunately, it is impossible to buy such powerful helicopters under US sanctions. However, it took China more than 30 years to develop the same Z-20 as black hawk, and its transportation capacity on the plateau is as excellent as the latest Black Hawk.
Lol the 60 is far from the pinnacle. 60s get made fun of in aviation units.

I’m so proud of our country 😊
Hell yeah Poland getting the S70 heavy attack variant! Jealous our own military isn’t seeing these tho, but congrats to the Poles getting this insanely armored and top tech variant!
Dude Poland’s been stepping their military uuuup recently. Glad our relations with them are so strong
CWO3 Daniel Wadham…gone forever.
Miss you.
My older brother and i saw a blackhawk helicopter 3 weeks ago when we were 2 days away to attend our uncle's wedding im surprised he recognizes a helicopter thats like 1k feet away from the ground while its moving
“the S-70 is the latest itteration of the UH-60 for Poland” isn’t a correct statement. S-70 was the original name of the UH-60 until it was adopted by the US military. the licensed export version made in Poland (PZL MIELEC, a Sikorsky company) reverted to the original name S-70 called the S-70i which is the UH-60M “mike” (latest) version…
I make fuel bladders for these things along with f-18, f-15, nighthawk, seahawk. love my job

In my opinion most important air vehicle

I absolutely love the Black Hawk Helicopter!!!!!!
if the black hawk replacement looked suspiciously similar to the Mi-24 I wouldn't complain.
Personally, the Mi-24 is closer to the CH-53 than a Black Hawk. I believe the CH-53 can take a better beating, than the Blackhawk. I’m from U.S and I’ve seen a hind shake off a missile or grenade launcher, like it was a bottle rocket. The video is on UA-cam.
I wouldn’t want anything looking like the failure of a helicopter mi24

bwoah coolest chopper in movies
Very cool report.
can't belive that long time has passed... when i was in the millitary i was in a base wehre UH1H was operating...
The Blackhawk is cool
To be truly functional the UH-60 needs a Krurig coffee maker installed for flight crew needs.
Uwielbiam te latające pszczółki , pozdro z POLSKI

Miss riding on Blackhawks
Besides the apache this is the best helicopter
My country 🇵🇭 order a total of 48 S-70i blackhawk, the most advance in its class.
Not a helicopter fan, but keep up the great work. Cant wait to see the Raider X and Bell 360 Invictus
Can you do an episode on the UH-1Y & AH-1Z
Those choppers date back to the Vietnam War. It's strange the Marine Corps still flies them.
Looking forward for Defiant X

What about the Navy Seahawk variant?
I wonder how different or similar the S-70 variant is compare to the U.S made one. I wish you included more info but it's a good video tho
Good name
Man. Military is hurting for people I gotta Bachelor's Degree and a license to fly choppers. Wonder if I could sneak in and get a seat in one of these bad boys
Thank God Philippines already have this.
UH-60 were also the helos seen in Spec Ops: The Line.

"Black Hawk Down" :)
Clear
I flew the UH60A model.
I saw one fly over today.
Bring me a Jolly Green Giant please!
Yeah, and the day they park the last one in the boneyard, they'll pick up the crew in a Huey!
Liked the Black Hawk but missed the iconic sound of the Huey.

What about the navy’s seahawk & Coast guard Jayhawk???
Mass, I think they should make a smaller one one or two blade
1:48 "Light weight composite all moving tail" WTF is that? ... While the newest iteration of the Black Hawk (UH-60M) does have a 3 piece "stabilator" (the wing thing) which is primarily of composite construction, the Black Hawk in the video is a the legacy UH-60L with a stabilator that is a single piece constructed primarily of sheet metal with a Kevlar spar. Additionally the stabilator is attached to the tail of the aircraft. The stabilator's trailing edge slews up and down based on forward airspeed to provide additional lift for the large tail of the aircraft. This is why the Black Hawk when at a hover with little forward airspeed the tail hangs down.
Oh he said it:
"Modern Warfare"
what about the fleet of coast guard units still using used navy 60's?
My wife is always telling her female friends how she loves the Black Hawk. So for our aniversary I promised to get her one (not a real one ofcourse, a nice highly detailed hand painted model). So, our aniversary is here, I give her her present, she says "What the hell is this??" I'm like, "Honey, it's a Black Hawk." She answers "No it isn't, that's a helicopter thingy"
She seemed so happy when I told her she could have a Black Hawk, she hugged and kissed me and asked me once she got her present if I wanted to watch or join in... well, the thought of my wife spinning the little rotors while I turned the little miniguns was so enchanting that I told her that I'd happily join in!
❤️❤️👍

Beauty! God bless NATO. Cheers to our friends from Prague❤
We have a couple that fly out of the national guard in Lincoln Nebraska every Thursday night for low elevation runs over our farm when I'm out feeding livestock.

'simple robust utility helicopter systeme to satisfy projected air mobile requirement around the globe' those were the requirements of 1970's. I wonder whats the requirements of 2022. Blackhawks would be good enough for Canada in 2022.
They build them in my city, Poland.
