Matt - Please feel free to make every single synthesiser launch video from this time to eternity … the most enjoyable and informative possible every time … Watching you play is always a joy
I've been a synth programmer for many years. I know I only need to watch a 14min video from Matt to fully understand what the synth can do and how it can sound, in the right hands. I don't need to see any other launch videos, this is the one. Thanks for cutting through the waffle.
I’ve already mentioned it elsewhere, but MylarMelodies nailed it from a sound designer perspective. In fact, his demos are always a cut above for understanding what the possibility’s of a synth are. Matt Johnson is always going to make beautiful music in his synth demos, but MylarMelodies is always the one who’s going show how weird and wild a synth can get.
Incredible. Matt you are a treasure to the UA-cam music community. I’d like to suggest a series where you demo the crappiest synths ever made and show us how good you can make them sound! That would be fun. Your musicality is so fantastically tasty. Cheers from Alabama
This might be the best synth intro video I've ever seen - all the magical things beautifully demonstrated in under 14 minutes... I can do the detailed digging on my own. Thank you so much and thank you Moog for continuing to be inspiring dreamers of musical instruments. 🤟
8:46 this is one of the most beautiful sequences I’ve ever heard! All I could do was shake my head in admiration. Thank you for sharing your talent with us Matt!
Damn it's a small world after all haha ;). Just bought an OBX8 for the same price so this puppy will have to wait for another year or two, or three maybe 😉. But I have to admit, the stereo and binaural spread and top end are really amazing on the Muse. Have fun when it arrives!! Cheerio
best video on the synth I have seen! love the musicality you bring when demonstrating it and highlighting how different features bring something unique to the sound! cheers
Thank you for this wonderful demonstration. ❤ Now in the middle of 50, It's hard for me to fully express, how glad I'm about the fact, I eventually can afford an 8 voice analog Moog synth. Never thought this would come true one day. It's a dream. The unit will be shipped in 8-10 weeks. 😊 Your groovy playing skills are a great inspiration for me. The MUSE sounds so mellow and rich and can be so nasty and expressive as well. I love its vast range, the many different tones it can produce. It will be the perfect addition to my Moog Matriarch. There are some heavy Ruyichi Sakamoto / David Sylvian vibes in this synth too. The design and layout is perfectly well thought out. And finally I'm glad, Moog is still in business and rocking. ❤ Cheers
Very cool! I like the sound from this new Moog a lot more than what I've heard from the Moog One. This synth really captures the classic Moog sound very well, while being 8-voice polyphonic too. Very tempting synth!
I had countless notifications abut the Muse today. It would be uncivilized for me to watch those ones before yours. Great video, and thanks for being my inspiration to buying Moogs since the Moog One.
Always like seeing Matt's videos. He always does a synth justice when it comes to showcasing its abilities and he is a great player. Unlike too many other people who just noodle around.
Great video. Good to see synths reviewed expertly and actually played. So many reviewers spend much time talking about functions, twiddle knobs and demonstrate sequencing or arp functions but never show what it can do musically as an instrument beyond a few slow chord changes, if they use the keyboard at all
Love your videos! Love the uploads! The synthesizer videos inspired me to look into them more, and there has been no looking back! Thank you so much Matt!
No, I hope he really likes the instrument, and is doing it because of that. But if they gave him one to do the review... well that would be cool too. :)
Bernie Worrall, Herbie and Stevie all playing sweet funk at the same time! This thing sounds beautiful, fat, funky and punky! Thanks Matt, another awesome demo ❤❤
Thanks Matt for the video! ❤ Anyone who is interested, let me quickly highlight how this synth is unique or interesting IMO: - the LFOs, apart from the usual shapes, come with complex custom shapes (the "+" symbol above the waveform button) - in the dual VCOs there is a wavemix feature where you can set the balance of levels between pulse and triangle / saw (/which you can also mix freely!) - you can program a lot of generative behavior into the sequencer with gate, velocity and note chance / probability for more unpredictability - there's dual timbre addressing in the sequencer so it can play both timbres at once or only chosen notes for timbre A and B (which makes it more fun!) - in the mod matrix you can use functions to change the well-known shapes of sine, square LFOs into uniquely new ones, or create custom curves for envelopes / aftertouch response, etc. - the mixer allows for a clean mix of all analog sources but you can also use the overload slider to overdrive the signal like the classic Moog CP-3 mixer does - the delay works like vintage digital rack units in that it's highly configurable and can provide stereo delays with ping pong behavior, filtered multi-tap tape echo-style delays, or reverb + dreamy chorused-diffusion trails. Generally it's a sonic playground for time-based effects. Thank you Moog!!!
The legend of Jexus is that each time he demos a synthesizer, a new universe is created from a big bang that echos from speakers located somewhere in eastern Europe and morphs into its own quantum reality by the time the speakers blow, which must be every video because I can't think of another reason why his videos end ;)

I love the layout of all the modules, the arpegiator is packed full of usable functions, and the delay/reverb seems to be a homerun as far as built-in effects. Everything I've seen and heard about this synth from videos on UA-cam has convinced me that, among modern analog poly synths, the Muse is a real winner and a very special instrument.

- there's dual timbre addressing in the sequencer so it can play both timbres at once or only chosen notes for timbre A and B (which makes it more fun!)

Thanks a lot
Beautiful demo sounds! Thank you! And it seems to be far more direct and intuitive than the Moog One, yet very deep and useful. A magical synth for players and performers.
The Moog One will remain a synth for sound design enthusiasts.
