- In the novel "The Shadow of Kyoshi," author FC Yee reveals Avatar Kyoshi's animal guide. A Spirit Fox, a clever, demure, and stealthy creature that is very fitting of Kyoshi's inner personality, comes to Kyoshi at her time of need at the end of the novel.
The Shadow of Kyoshi is a sequel to 2019's The Rise of Kyoshi written by FC Yee with consultation from Avatar co-creator Michael DiMartino. The music used in this video is "Sleeping...Not Walking" composed by Jeremy Zuckerman for The Legend of Korra Book 2.

First we had "just...bear".
And now we have "just...fox"
our would has "just...animals"!
The Avatar world has 2 "different animals combined as one"!!!
The "bear" was somewhat of an inside joke with the creators. It's talked about in the new avatar podcast "Braving the elements". But this is not just a fox, it's a "falcon fox with no feathers or beak".
Spirits are often "just animals." Wan Shi Tong is a "just owl" and heibai is a "just panda." Avatar animals are mixes, but avatar spirits are allowed not to be.
A unique and unexpected animal guide for a really unique and unexpected avatar!!!!
That is a good point.
I guess one trait all avatars have in common is forming a strong connection with at least one animal who helps them throughout their adventures. Hmm, would a book devoted to the animal guides of past avatars sound like a good idea?
first we need stories of the other avatars and then I would love to know about their animals companions
That would be awesome. I would love that.
i mean that be a bit weird since probably most of the air nomad avatars would just have sky bison
I was thinking that the Unagi might be her guide since it guards the Island/village, and it has longevity like Kyoshi did. But I’m excited to see more interactions with the fox! 😄
I think it's a fitting companion and after the insane battle with False Avatar Yun I can only imagine what the third book will be about.
Uhhhh there's only two
@@TomboyWSS This is it? Shame really. I would have liked a third book. Maybe it'll be announced later on?
@@claytonrios1 man i wish
I need a third book
I want a third book the first 2 were freaking amazing
I thought that that was her spirit companion, like the Phoenix-dragon for Korra or Hei Bai for Aang
This reminds me, i find the first meeting of Kyoshi and Yangchen funny and heartbreaking, and i find it amusing that there is a glimpse of yangchen's sass, i wouldn't be suprise if yangchen is a more savage avatar then kyoshi.
I was thinking the same thing at the end of the second novel. I wish a companion animal would have been introduced earlier in the books though. I had wondered why Kyoshi didn't get a companion animal like Korra, Aang, and even Roku. Good thing she made up for it by being so badass she didn't need one.
Love the Art where is it from?
Nah Kyoshi told me her pet is Koh the face stealer and a gun
Me: ohhhh so that was her animal companion!
Well done,love the Fanarts
I didn't know she had a animal companion, interesting
After all, in the ATLA-verse, it's the animals we see as ordinary that have the biggest significance. Still, a spirit fox doesn't qualify - it's either a spirit or an animal. Should have been a cat, actually - as just like no one initially expected much of Kyoshi, you don't really expect too much of a cat, either.
kkachi95 are you going to make more Kyoshi Novel fan art comic in the future?!
It's more like a pokemon to her. Go foxy use tackle 😂
I love the art
So kkachi95, I saw your art of Kelsang's Death and did he really gotten decapitated in the book?!!!
He did.
Finalmente posso assistir sem medo de spoilers kk
Já leu?

Meh. Nothing beats a fricking dragon as animal guide.
You are the worst story teller in the history of the world. The stories arent sequential and made no sense at all.
