Found this because I'm looking for a lift for my to-be garage. You've come a long way!!
That's so awesome. It's a dream garage. Your videos are going to get a lot more interesting now.
Congrats Tavarish, I just had the HD-9ST version installed in my garage today as well. Bendpak makes some great quality lifts and glad to see you went with them too. Look forward to seeing more vids with you using the lift.
chevyguy879 I just had one installed too, I did a 30 min video all about it!
Awesome dude. One day I will get one installed and say bye bye to the floor hydraulic jack. When I used to be in the military our base had a fully stocked auto shop with several lifts like yours. I miss that auto shop :(
Definitely miss that perk with being in the military.. the car shops were a very nice benefit
At my next house, I'm hoping to have a big enough plot to build a 3 car garage in back and have at least two of these in there. Your videos are giving me great ideas for what I want to do. Keep up the awesome content.
The correct title should be "Someone else installed a 4 post lift in my garage"
Who gives a damn about who installed it? Point is, he had a lift installed. Stop hating so damn much. Geez........
@@Ozzie4Para Yeah! Words shouldn't mean what they mean!
Soo you’re the Karen.
Just came across this.. i installed a 4 post in my garage last weekend! Been wanting to get one for 3 years.. 10-hour job install hah... talk about tight clearance though, 1 inch roof to ceiling on the top car and 1 inch between the bottom car and the lift! Measured to perfection..😎 I'll have to tag you on IG when I upload a pic
a question and a suggestion > did you get just a single, extra, upper cabinet, next to the 2nd tall cabinet? if you also got the short cabinet with it, my suggestion is... move the 2nd tall cabinet next to the wall(where the upper is now), move the upper to the other side of the tall one; then put the Harbor Freight toolbox next to the tall one(under the relocated upper); you should be able to put the central vac back where it was just a little higher; put the new, 3rd short cabinet, on the right side, next to the 2 short ones and put the A/C on top of it(it should be more efficient there also); just eyeballing things, you should also have room between the H.F. toolbox and 3rd short cabinet to put the air compressor and still have the hose reach the lift. you asked for our comments/opinions, so that's JMHO, you can take it or leave it.... have a great one
2 lexus sc's and an Aston Martin, and now a lift, I applaud you Freddy
Definitely getting one of these... When I have a big enough garage.
That's sick! I'd like to see what it looks like with a car under it.
Love the lift. You could swap out the steel ramp with aluminum or plastic and make it easily removable.
That is really cool. A lift would be so useful, glad you are able to get one.
Inspiration for my new garage! 🙏🏼
Tavarish, in our shop, we just use C clamps on the corner of the ramps to keep them up.
naoki matsushima good idea!
That's awesome! the garage is really coming along nicely.
Nice lift! Also you can tie your compressor tanks together for more capacity if that scissor lift needs it.
Your a lucky man, wish I had a garage that big to fit a lift in, in england we have tiny garages. I really like your videos, you earned a new subscriber.
I have the same Bendpak HD9 lift but mine is 220V, blue in color and is the extra tall model. I have to remove my ramps too as my wife parks under it. I you remove the ramps when its on the floor and use the built in rollers to take the weight of them. I also keep my car 6 feet up in order to walk under it without hitting my head.
Sizzoring action. Congrats, I want a 4 post lift.
I just did this same thing about a month or so ago. I did the narrower model though. turned out great!
btw the locks are on each post corner. you can see them sticking though the ladder inside the post. make sure they are all set before working under it.
btw yours is super loud on the way down. mines almost silent....?

Loved that the video was fairly short, you sometimes tend to ramble a bit. Looking at the channels with the most subscribers, their videos tend to be short as well so I think you are definitely on the right track !
Also I would love to see your garage with 3 cars in it, just curious.
Best of luck to you :)
Very nice 4-post lift system. However, with a 2-post lift, you can perform wheel/brake/suspension maintenance.
I have a lighting shop, and I would recommend you to increase/upgrade the lighting you have in your garage, cause it looks that it's lacking light for working properly without getting eyesight tired.
Love the 4 post.. I have 12' ceilings in my garage and want a lift in the future.
Nice! Looks pretty much like our alignment rack at the shop.
Man I wish I could have a lift :(
Nice to see you have one though :D
same
Good for you. I can imagine how excited you are! Really enjoy your videos! Keep the videos going! Can't wait to see all your future projects!
i guess im asking randomly but does any of you know a way to get back into an Instagram account??
I somehow lost my login password. I love any assistance you can offer me
@Ryder Shane instablaster =)
@Adriel Spencer I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm.
I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Adriel Spencer it worked and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thanks so much you really help me out!
@Ryder Shane You are welcome :D
So what min, It's safe without drilling the ground? Also what keeps you from "accidentally" lifting one of your cars too high? I know you said you're going to mark off each car. But man, seeing your Aston lifted that close to the ceiling is giving me chills. Other than those questions, pretty sick set up.
Side Note: I asked the questions about 4mins into your video, so if you already answer those questions later on in the video, them my apologies
Jalopnik brought me here, nice set up man.
Nice, best upgrade ever!
Love your posts on Jalopnik - great job man!
Solid setup! Definitely need one of these in the future
Dexron III ATF is transmission fluid by the way. I had to use it in changing my transmission fluid.
one other thing.... looking at the Aston Martin, on the lift in the air, it looks like it will fit if you pull forward on the lift. just me eyeballing it again, video angle may be messing with my perspective.
"scissoring action"... i see what you did there lol
Get a 2nd scissor lift and some alignment equipment and you got a perfect setup
Love it big time! but!!! if i were you, ide seriously consider having the legs secured to the ground. I mean i get it, its a 4 leg setup which means theirs loads of stability, but! for that additional elimination of the 'What if.." scenario's, ide get some pegs drilled in, if not simply for the peace of mind. If drilling is a bit fearful then you could consider adding concrete around the corners of each legs feet. little concrete L shapes to prevent movement. in that way no long term damage will develop from holes in the concrete.
You got a new subscriber now. Great attitude that's why your dream came true.
very nice Tavarish, very nice!
Sweet set up man congrats
All the shiny red stuff in your garage, and now a lift, that is pretty impressive! That is basically my dream-setup you have there. But isn't it a bit too complicated to have a compressor at hand for those airbrakes? I only know automatic lifts in germany, where you have a plain up-and-down switch. Is that a US thing with the airbrake?
How high is that ceiling/ door?
Great, same as my ceiling, can you post links to the lift company, installers, high lift garage kit, type of air compressor, hydraulic fluid, etc. the hardest part is getting started. Thanks !
i need one of these! awesome!! Good luck buddy!!
Nice 4 post lift! I can't imagine fitting anything in your garage that would exceed 9000lbs, so thats great!
Can you still fit vehicle beside the lift?
Living the American dream.
Nice! How high is your ceiling?
Great set up Tavarish! Are you able to lift the whole car up with that scissor lift or would u need two of them?
Are you bolting it to the floor? Expansion anchors would work.
Justin Chism I saw that too! He had the car up and it wasn’t bolted down. I was praying it wouldn’t fall. That was scary
How high are your ceilings?
man! The HD-9 is $5k now!! this is going to be an expensive project.
How high is the ceiling of your garage?
If you were to want more space in the other bay of your garage, hiring someone to take that angled step out might be worth the cost.
Very nice.
congrats on the lift. not trying to criticize, but wouldn't a 2-post lift be more flexible? i understand 4-posts are much more stable and do not require drilling into concrete, but how would you remove your wheels for a brake job or suspension work? jack + jack stands?
dufftime 2 posts are terrible for storage fyi. 4 post with the sliding scissor allows for storage and working on the car.
congrats bro.
Musta hit the lottery huh? At least you're spending it on usable tools instead of flashy shit so props on that lol
You should have notched your concrete on the other side of the garage and installed in there. How are you going to work on anything on the wall side with the lift butted up against it?
Nice just got mine installed.
Congratz, awesome!
Sweet! I am happy for you, but also really jealous.
I like it man looks great what was the total for the whole thing?
Looks awesome! How tall is your ceiling inside your garage?
I'm insanely jealous! Enjoy!
Hi Freddy, great post! How about doing an update and letting us all know what it's been like to live with for the past year?
Thanks,
Lew
sweet!
Why put it up against the wall like that? I mean if you want to do a brake job or something, you don't have space.. Grats on the lift tho, I want one too at home :)
So jelly
Hey Tav
Are you able to stand underneath?
I would like at least 6ft/72".
My folks live in Titusville. Nice place, friend!
It's over 9000?!
It's okay I'll let myself out.
Oil up the components! The lowering process sounds like nails on a chalkbord
How are you liking your lift about a year later? Still holding up well?
Dude how much did that cost you?
It's cool but seriously have fun bending your back out it doesn't seem high enough to stand straight up under there
$300 for the red color? THat's highway robbery.
Dude, youre awesome and I love your vids but I really hope youre putting some furniture in your house too! If I were your wife Id be mad lol
Holy Fuck I am jealous!
Awesome idea. However, I would have put it on the other side of the garage so you could get in and out of the driver's seat easier
What about driving on the ramp forward, then the driver’s door would be on the other side thus easy exit
Is there enough room to work underneath without bending down? The camera makes it look like its around shoulder or neck hight with the Aston up there.
I thought you just went to Adam lz's house and used his lift for the thumbnail
Thank you for the video. It was very informative and my wife has already bought off on having one installed in our new home! One question for you though- what was your reasoning for the front to back placement? It seems as though you're a bit squeezed against the back wall of the garage and quite a bit of space at the door end.
Nice!!!!!!! Is it not fixed to the floor?
Fixing to the floor is safer .
What is the minimum garage height required to fit 2 Mustangs? About how much was the installation? Thanks for the video.
Not bad for a home garage, but if I had to work there 8 hours a day I would hate it
When u raise the door tack do you have to get a new door and how how is your ceiling
I would have still bolted it down. Awesome tho!
cool! impossible to do here...
Nice. What’s the minimum hight requirement for garage?
What are specifics specs and order list for your lift? Where did you order it from?
Only ONE jack? You're gonna hate life someday. But then again I've been spoiled from all the shops I've worked in that have two on the four post lifts and alignment racks.
can probably buy another one in the future I'd say if he really needs it.
CJ DASHCAM lift front axle put on jack stands then lift rear axle. if you need all 4 wheels off at the same time.
T-WRX I don't think they make jack stands short enough to go between the lift and his low ass Aston. Those scissor jacks don't go that high, and he'd have to lower the lift get the clearance to the ceiling even if it did.
4-post lifts are (almost) useless. I never understood why people buy them.
I've used both ramps and the aluminum ramps suck, just FYI.
Is it just me or is that lift not secured to the floor!! I didn't see any bolts in the base plates I would have it bolted to the floor before I use it regardless if it's a four post or not.
Ken Luetkemeyer it's a freestanding lift. no bolts necessary.
Some lifts have to be anchored, they are not "free standing" and the process of anchoring the legs is needed. Free Standing lifts do not require this.
i mean you need them on a 2 post lift but not on free standing ones
hey please list your garage dimensions...length, width and height so we can compare and see if it works for us.
Its also kind of a anti theft measure. I don't think your average burglar would know how to operate one of these lifts haha.
did you have to get a permit from the city to get the lift ?
My guess is around $4,000-$5000 installed?
