After having met and dug with Frank And Kyndall. I found out that they are monsters at digging. Dogs cant dig as well. Anyway i counted 66 oohs and oooos and owwwws. i like this format the the best. i speak for others saying straight watching you dig and over the shoulder pov is the bomb. Hope to see you guys soon

Such an impressive find. The largest I've found was the length of my hand. About a 5" point. Was a slanted looking piece where facets on one side were MUCH longer than the ones on the opposite side. Gave it to my uncle because he was shaking with excitement when we pulled it out. I have found Citrine & Amethyst out in Payson, where you all were just at in February. If you are ever back in AZ, I'd be happy to go spelunking with ya all.

Ooooooh i saw that grey sparkly pocket dirt lol I have coffee cans filled with it, if you hit it with a microscope its got thousands of tiny little wand crystals throughout it...the bigger ones being the size of a splinter. I dunno why I get so excited over seeing it haha I'll find a use for it some day...you know you're in the juice when you see it, though. It won't allow me to post my digital microscope pictures here but it's pretty cool.

@@ThatCampingCouple i dunno why I kept it at first...maybe because it was glittery when I was night digging with the headlamp. You'd think that they would be micro herkimers but they were elongated wand-type micros instead?
I always wonder what the logistics of doing a dig like this really is. Like once you show up at a spot you want to dig at like this one, does it take a full day to get below the root systems, then another day to get to the right depth, them maybe a couple of days digging around till you find a pocket or is it realistic to think someone might go from solid untouched ground and be into a pocket withing a couple of hours? On to your next vid.

How do you decide where to start digging? They are deep under the ground, so what clues make you suspect there are pockets of crystals there?
Old trees are a good indication because the roots indicate a water source. For herkimers, you want to look for black coloured dirt because of the Carbon they originally formed in. But, usually, it just takes time and patience to pick a spot and dig it hard 🤗 hard work always pays off. Hope this helps!❤️

How can you detect mineral location in the first?
When digging for Herkimer diamonds, it is helpful to look for black material in the dirt - the crystals form in Anthraxolite (Carbon) 😊 hope this helps!!
