- Hello, Everyone This is Siegfried Song.
I've tried DF Singer Audition and I couldn't be the one of them though, let me say that I enjoyed the audition.
This is not everything I could show you in this video, I just imagined that if I mix my growling with this song, that would be cool.
BTW, Congratulation Marc Hudson!!
He is really awesome singer. Hopefully, DF will have glorious future with him

he wasn't cupping it dawg, just had his hand on it. His thumb was over it a bit, but that's it.
It's hard to tell, but it looks like he's using a valid mic technique: putting a thumb and maybe the index finger around the band around the windscreen. I tried it before, and for some reason, it makes me keep the mic maybe 2-4 inches from my face. As long as he's not covering a lot of the wind screen, he should be good. I tried cupping the mic, and it's good if you want a "crappy school PA system" sound from your recordings.
I love the gritty voice here, which is probably inspired by Jorn Lande.
Like some others say. This doesen't sound like a cover at all. Its far far better than a cover.

I can tell why he might have gotten lower on the list. He actually has a really awesome voice that probably could work. However, his voice kept changing from clean to growly at very strange parts of the song. It almost sounds like 2 singers, and it should sound like one. Also, switching the tones from clean to growly should be done more like a planned effect. See Thomas L Winkler audition. He does this well, and the distortion he does on the "In time" part works perfectly. I'm not saying this as a Gloryhammer fan, by the way. Also, Winkler's audition had a few flaws, but hey. It got him into Gloryhammer.
You got your points and I agreed the part about switching tones, however, I don't think that made different results between him and me; he got a band and I didn't get a one. Music industry doesn't work in the way you think. And please, don't estimate me through watching only this video it was just for fun, in fact, it's not even the type of music I'm playing.
Like I said: you have a really awesome voice, and believe it or not, this video shows what it's capable of, plus where you can grow. You say it's not even the type of music you are playing, but people here are already saying that they liked your performance. You sound really good doing it already, and the issues I heard can be ironed out. Not to mention, this was around 5 years ago. Maybe saying that Winkler got into Gloryhammer was wrong I admit. However, I would be more surprised if someone hasn't picked you up, and would feel that it's a loss that people aren't making music to that voice

It's cool. I'm learning to sing as well, and I wish I was at that level. It's seriously a pain in the ass to learn, plus there's so many traps that people can easily fall into

You have an epic voice dude, I have never really heard any of DragonForce's music besides that ever popular "Through the Fire and Flames" but this voice technique of yours is simply amazing. I hope fortune shines on you and your music, a voice like yours deserves to be heard far and wide bro. I love your vibrato and that slight grit you add to your tone.

I'm not a perfect vocalist but also not the vocalist has 'only' guttural voice. I don't really agree with your idea that there is lack of softness at my voice at all. Furthermore, you can always have your opinion, but please at least watch more covers or original stuff whenever you judge somebody. At last, copying a song perfectly is not really what I tried on this song and I don't think I had to do that.

it took me so long to find your video back. a friend showed me this video back in the day and the impression you made on me sticked even till today. I searched for so long and for some reason siegfried popped in my brain out of the blue.

To be honest, your vocal cover is the only thing that has made the Dragonfoce music listenable for me after a long time (so easy to get bored as I always look up to the singer). You, my sir, just made me feel something inapproperiate for minor audience in my pants. Please release some of yer actual band music out here in the tube or pop out a link for demo :) keep it up man, love yer voice. Especially the rough "growl" clean ye do ;)

Very nice singing my man. I did not expect that ripping voice to come out when you started, (and I mean that in a good way). I actually turned away for a second and when you started it grabbed my attention real quick. I liked how you added your own style into the song and honestly, I kind of like your version better than the original. Wow! I thought your Kamelot covers were good but not superior to the original (I mean, who beats Khan), but this was a different level. The grit in your voice during the lower parts is excellent (and as an aspiring vocalist myself, something I'm jealous of). Hope you find a band soon, man! Would definitely check it out!

@Masterofall001 In my personal opinion, I don't think there is the definition of the DF style. So, I think when a band changes their sessions, their style also will be changed following new members. I thought this kind of voice can make awesome style so I've tried. That is all.

@MrRetrogamingtoday Thank you and I don't mind whether they would pick me or not. And I think he is good enough at singing on live stage. However, who did define that DF is not really a growling band? I don't think that auditioning was finding 'just' ZP clone. Quite many people liked my video, so who knows it works with growling? There is variety of music taste in the world, so I think nothing can be stupid. They just picked somebody who they wanted, not anymore.
