You're the best! I just started learning uke yesterday and now I already know how to do 12 chords because of your tutorial! Thank you so much. 💜 Will watch all your uke lessons. ☺
I have a friend in Japan who is a music teacher and been interesting me into learning ukulele and this is a great place to start, thanks for the great info!
Hi Justin. You should have emphasised - for easyer memorizing - that any minor chord (Xm) has just a dropped third (halftone) compared to the major. Same for X7: Just a dropped tonic (fulltone). This can be experienced very good on the A and D chords.
another version of the e major is to simply bar the fourth fret strings and mute the 1st string or play it back a fret, (b) this is the version I play the most but it isn't considered open. But I'm glad he showed this version cause I never considered it and it's in none of my books

Hi Justin just started playing the Uke after many years playing guitar ------- using your website and finding it very useful
thanks
hi justin i know this is late but the begging uke lessons are really helping me out, thanks!
another great lessons thanks again
I been with Justinguitar since 2006 and now he tells us that important tip better late than never hehehehe!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can find the notes just fine. I have problems strumming. Yours just sounds so fluent and flowing. Tips?
Hi Justin, great explanation so far. I enjoy your stuff very much.
Thanks a lot. Keep up the good work! Frank
I like the D7 chord - even though it has no root note (but it works in context w/ other chords).
I like the bar chord version of D7.

Thanks justin you're great.... :D
I much prefer your 'E' chord to the one I find commonly in Uke songbooks

Real nice video. Your camera work and lighting are awesome!
Yay!
as usual your lessons are spot on, so i just want to know what is that little round thing on the Uke, by the sound hole?
Just a little note: if you're finding the E chord difficult use this variation: instead of 2104 ( as suggested in the video) use 3331
E is 4442, 3331 is a D#
For me the easiest way to play the E chord is 4447 (its an simple barre chord)
Thanks for all your efforts! I'm very Sorry to hear that apparently some scumbag broke into your studio! Hope the police finds this criminal!
Hi Justin, like the lessons so far but where did you get that D7 from?
I seem to be having lots of trouble strumming correctly. Right now i'm strumming like you would strum a guitar. Any tips for first finger strumming?
nice
wow
WHY MUST MY FINGERS BE SO SHORT I CAN'T REACH THE E CHORD D:
are the chords on the uke positioned the same as on the mandolin?
What if my hands are too small to reach chords like the E chord :(
They must be big now. 😅
Mine too! And I’m using a small one!
There is a bar chord version of E that is easier for me
Just here learning ukulele in quarentine

D7th : D,F#,A,C. Isn't their Note D missing in D7th Chord?
This is great Justin. I want to buy a ukulele but don't know what type?
This guy is from the British Isles. Do you hear his acent. Hehehe

E turns out to be impossible for me! Little finger refuses to stretch the right way :(
I find the biggest problem with that e chord is holding the uke steady coming from other chords.
Now I am seeing the D shapes are the same as the A shapes on a guitar
i just bar for the d chord with my thumb over the top of the neck
Could you teach some songs?
will happen this year but I'm away the next few weeks making a record with my band We Came As Strangers... but coming soon :)
JustinGuitar Songs Duuude, I heard about your studio.... really fucked up....
I don't think anyone really understands how much I loathe the "Chord Sent from Hell" aka the E Chord.
You do it fast
Strings you use
Thougt its chords for open tuning. Nothing new for me.
lol
