Just got back from Paliza Campround and really enjoyed it. We stayed in the no-generator area and for the first night were the only people in that loop. We saw deer up the hill, turkeys went by and plenty of blue birds. Went on the Goblin hike and would have stayed longer but knew we'd be hiking in 85+ degrees on the way back. We found the "Jurassic Park" section so amazing and want to go back later to see the red color of the virginia creeper in fall. I grinned when you pointed out the cactus on the goblin... I happened to have taken a pix as well. Ha. For those who may be unsure of where the golbin trail starts; travel north on 10 going past the campground entrance, then past the intersection for route 266. The trail is immediately on the right and looks like a primitive road (or atv). The first half mile is full sun on a "road" so I probably would only do this trail again in spring or fall. That sure does look like a nice campground. The Goblin Colony is really cool to check out and I will have to make an effort to get over there and have a look. Thanks for sharing.
Hi, great video. The only thing I would recommend is to be a bit more detailed in describing the route to the goblins. I know a lot of folks who have tried & haven’t made it due to confusion on which direction to go, me included! I’ve been there I think 4 times & twice I had problems finding them! But, I actually did find a few & a nice canyon along the way last year!
Thanks, yes, if we hadn't used Alltrails we wouldn't have found them. It is a bit confusing with no trail markings except 2 cairns we found by accident. I wish the trail was marked better!
