Its strategy lol, he learned from his previous race in short distance running by the end of the race, his competitors are slowing down so he charges in to get that spot. His old strategy is like his competitors today.
Correction! He tied for first! (but they put him as the winner!) the other sprinter pulled up at the end AND THAT'S THE ONLY REASON HE "Won" (tied for first!) But this is only Collegiate times! because overall this time of 6:56 Ranks Matthew Boling at #209 because Christian Coleman has the current fastest time in the 60 meters at 6:34! so Mr. Boling has alot of work to do in order to be ranked with the top sprinters in the world!
Guy has gone from 6.73 or so to 6 56. Getting better slowly but is overworked . Will eventually run under 10s in the 100 and under 19 in the 200. His college team overwork him so he can get team pts.
That start needs plenty more work toward his best and then consistency in replicating it.If that ever happens for Boling I believe he'll jump into the elite ranks in the 200/400m.For these reasons Boling should continue his reaction starting and acceleration speed in both the 60/100m because it will feed his greatest strengths which is in long sprinting/ LJ'ing. If Boling can get to the point he's able to step on the track and drop a sub 9.9s consistently in the 100m while that wouldn't likely net him a World or Olympic medal what it would do is aid him in sub 19.7's in the 200m and sub 44s in the 400m which are world class levels.
Why do I always get feeds about Boling, but Laird, Fenbouleh, Knighton and other guys that run faster than him, I never end up seeing in my feed. His PB is .11 off the best time this yr, from some guy I've never heard of. I don't even think Boling has the 3rd fastest time of the season. Just annoying how this guy gets pushed so hard in the media, but the 4 guys that beat him in the 200m last yr, you hear nothing about.
I will say the obvious he is WHITE and you don't see ppl like him competing in the sprints the hype about him began while in high school. He ran a WIND AIDED 9.98 100M and ppl were FOOLISHLY comparing him with Bolts 9.58!!!!!! There were ppl saying that he would be the WORLD RECORD HOLDER while he was in the prep ranks.Yes he has obvious talent but as I said to his fan base he is going to face guys just as fast as he is right now and he saw it last year chasing Terrance Laird of LSU.One day I wanted to see in in the 4x4 as a anchor being chased by Randolph Ross of North Carolina A&T!!!!!
@@gibememoni Moron #1 Whos sport is running? The act of running is as natural as breathing. #2 Boling is not dominating anything, he's running indoor events that are basically practice for the real events, which are outdoors. The guy is yet to run a 9.95 100m or 20.00 200m, he will not be making any final of the big tournaments.
Did you have to put a color/ethnicity to her... Why not just say "He needs a new coach, because the current one isn't cutting it for me" or something? And BTW she was the replacement for the previous coach and she can only coach as much as she can, the rest is up to him!
He came from last!!! Love his competitiveness!

Incredible technique with the lean at the line.
This was absolutely insane. One of the best comebacks ever
This is why you don't let up until you pass all the way through the finish. Too many runners let up right at the finish.
yeah, very odd to see...could have easily been caught by 2-3 more runners
It's to save energy for the finals. Only people who know that they can go much faster should do it though.
Bro is straight menace keep working Matthew boling
Don't forget that the camera angle makes it seem like he's farther behind than he really is. But great finish nonetheless

That's a Texas fella. What y'all expect? No honestly that young man just works hard.
Texas track is crazy. Wish i grew up there
Congratulations 👏
There should be a giant ball pit and the end that they have to jump into

What a run!!!! His start was way off but just come by them
My man is fast
With a good start, and with the number one guy out,, he could win this thing.

What's the point of showing this we already what happened in the finals no matter how he performed in the prelims
Hell yeah. White guy killing it!
Had to work that hard to win and it showed in the final, needs to stop being a workhorse and concentrate on his best event.
