I wonder if we could have an update to some of these old individualized plant videos? It would be so fun to see how much they've grown, if you do anything different care-wise compared to when you first planted, and to see if you've enjoyed it or would consider replacing it with something new. Are there many plants that stick out to you in this way? 🌱
I've seen hydrangea flowers used as decorations tucked into a Christmas tree. It was beautiful! They did the whole tree in pinks and beige with natural, rustic type decorations. Great way to extend your hydrangea blooms into the winter season.
I’ve been binge watching your videos for the past couple of days. Watching these videos gives me so much joy - especially given the crappy weather (snow storm) we are having in Toronto right now. Can’t wait to start gardening this spring!
Planted Hydrangeas a few years ago I am so pleased with them Late summer early fall can be so beautiful Am planting Fountain grass and a evergreen today Love your plantings
I've seen these in my area (CT) and they're certainly showy. The "tree" form is uniquely right for this lovely plant. My Grandfather use to train Oleanders this way in his garden. He always had the most gorgeous and unique plants.
I loved this video. It would be interesting to see what it looks like now. I'm typing this in October, 2017. I enjoy all your videos. They've been very very helpful.
Just bince watch your videos. From Jan 2017 to now the last week's and it inspired me and tought me sooo much thank you for all the time you 2 (3) you put in these videos and how seasonal appropriate it is. Is so amazing to find fall inspiration videos atm and see what blooms in the fall and and how to make arrangements and fill pots.....im new to gardening i started this summer to battle a bad bad depression and some other stuff and went straight into orvhid growing and forgot the Garden..but now I want to have my garden prepared for spring and nice for fall so i hope next year to enjoy blooms and be more expiranced and see how all my plants survive and do after all the tlc i put in them. I have about 3 weeks before the soil freezes and i need the gardrn beds prepared plants in and bulbs in the place i want them ( for now) and your videos are such a help and great moment of my day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart helping me cope with menthal health issues and make my garden pretty. Kind regards rose 🌹
I would love to see how you do your hair !!!! I know it wouldn't be your standard video but your hair is always gorgeous. It looks so pretty and effortless!!!
Thank you Laura! 💕 I just got 2 pinky winkies on sale and I was thinking for days where to put them, because my garden is tiny, already crowded and has... challenges. You provided the info that put me at ease about my decision :)
I love it! You have inspired me to grow boxwood hedges! I love them so far! I am excited to see how they turn out. I would love to have a hydrangea tree! You are so blessed to have all this access to beautiful plants. 😘
We are zone 9 i checked it out a few weeks ago x love the black and white on your house x You and Casey Lawrence would get on so well. Casey has some fantastic vids x Casey has a great hubs and 2 daughters, they are a very busy family x
Very cool tree! I live in an older house and trust me, you don't want to water too close to your basement! Also I would think that those rocks by your downspouts are nice looking, but I would think they would drain water to your basement fast!! :)
I have a pee gee hydrangea in the corner of my patio which is bordered by box woods and it gorgeous! I do have a pinky wonky shrub but didn't know it came in a tree! I have to get one!
When I saw this video, I knew I wanted to ask you a question. Not sure you will have time to answer. I planted 2 new hydrangea standards last summer. They were a bit straggly. I would prefer to keep them pretty and compact. What do I do with them this Spring? Don’t I have to prune them back? Would love for you to do a video on my next step. They were NOT cheap and I don’t want to lose them because I lack the knowledge as to how to take care of them. Anything you can share would be appreciated. Thanks, Debbie.
Don't know if this is a good question or not, but... Will the "tree trunk" stay that thin forever? How would it do in a windy area? Looks like it might snap :s
Enjoyed your Pinky Winky video, getting ready to remodel some areas of my yard. The best info was the basics you went over about the amendments you added and the drip and watering set up. Very Valuable info !!! thank you! (any info on getting rid of voles and gophers would complete my education before I attempt my project ????) Penny Creston, CA Zone 9
Another excellent video. There is a place in my garden that I would like to plant hydendria plants. Hopefully this coming summer, since we just moved into this house. We are dealing with the wild morning glory for know..
Hi Laura ! I love your channel. You are so knowledgeable. You have help me so much. I just love you 😘 . My question 🙋🏽♀️ is : I am now planting in a more shade area. It gets a little sun. I want to plant a row of pinky winky hydrangeas. Can they tolerate a shaded area? I’m in zone 5.
Hi Laura. I just planted two pinky winky hydrangea trees. I put Holly tone in both holes before planting. One is shaded the other is in full Sun. The shaded one is looking great. The one in full Sun is drooping. Help! What can I do? I can send pics too
Adriano Gencer they did one last year, not a complete one because they just moved in. She was showing where she placed certain house plants and where she set up her succulents /grow light room.
Hi Laura....Noticed in some of your more recent videos that the pinky winky is no longer in this spot. Did you move it or did it not do well and die? I am thinking of planting one and curious of your opinion. We are a zone 5 in WI near Lake Michigan. Thanks!
Bought one for zone 7. Owner of the garden center said they're resilient, but we're getting a lot of sunburned leaves and planted in the middle of summer. Not to mention, the panicles are drooping to the point where it looks like the branches will snap. From what I understand, it thrives in full sun, but it isn't performing as it should. Will it survive?
Ah! This is awesome. I bought a Pinky Winky Hydrangea last week but I haven't planted it yet because I'm scared that it'll die. I live in Nevada so our "soil" is basically dirt/sand. Any tips before I plant mine?
Love pinky winky hedge form. Planted 60 feet of these mixed with limelight hydrangea 4 years ago.
That sounds interesting and pretty
Isn't it fun to stand back and look at a finished job. I like to walk by it from different angles too. Pinky Winky is gorgeous!!

@Anderson Finnegan Flixportal :P

That is pretty. Hope you are feeling well.
Looks beautiful with the boxwood bushes. Hope your pregnancy is going well.

SILVERTONGUE DAYWALKER I love Casey's channel probably my favorite channel because I love vegetable gardening!
Very cool tree! I live in an older house and trust me, you don't want to water too close to your basement! Also I would think that those rocks by your downspouts are nice looking, but I would think they would drain water to your basement fast!! :)
Love, love love!!! The idea of it changing colors is fascinating. btw, I think a can see a baby bump. 😊

Always very enjoyable to watch your videos. keep up with the good work and thanks for making them : )
I dont rejember seeing this later. I will have to go vack and check out a fall tour again and look for it.
Would love to see it a few years down the road - perhaps a pruning tutorial?
Love love this tree?
Don't know if this is a good question or not, but... Will the "tree trunk" stay that thin forever? How would it do in a windy area? Looks like it might snap :s
Thanks for more garden motivation!

Beautiful!
It's gorgeous 😍
I love when you share about your drip system! I am using the same system and still learning, so your tips really help!
Another excellent video. There is a place in my garden that I would like to plant hydendria plants. Hopefully this coming summer, since we just moved into this house. We are dealing with the wild morning glory for know..
love it, different.
lol, Just came back from store and had purchased two of these. Then found the video. I wonder if I could make the lollypop on my own.....

What a cute name 😆
I would love to learn how to do that to a Hydrangea! I like doing stuff like that. I did it with Wisteria.
Pleasee make a house tour!? Plss💙
Adriano Gencer yeah I agree

Very nice butiful 👍👍

Great job!
lovely!!!
Could you do a video on grafted cactus? I wanted to buy some but didn't know anything about them so came home without them. Can they be propagated?
Love it!
Can the excess water from the rain gutter be a problem? It discharges right next to Pinky Winky.
i also had the same question! laura pls clarify this. Also please suggest caretips to maintain this form- pruning?
She lives in a high desert climate and gets little to no rain so that wont be a problem

Today digging a hole for my hydrangeas I found an old horseshoe I think maybe it's around a hundred years old
Laura, how will u care about it in winter time? I afraid that three core might be broken by snow from the roof of the house... :(
I could have this zone 3 plant as I live I control Wisonsin. Thx for sharing
That is such a gorgeous hydrangea. My neighbor had one and I've been wondering what it was called.
Ah! This is awesome. I bought a Pinky Winky Hydrangea last week but I haven't planted it yet because I'm scared that it'll die. I live in Nevada so our "soil" is basically dirt/sand. Any tips before I plant mine?
Miguel Arucan plant it in a big pot with a lot of shade, or amend the soil but in Vegas, you'll have to plant this in the shade.
Will you have to prune that in a specific way for it to continue to grow like that? If you didn't prune it, would it begin to grow like a shrub?
Miranda Drake yes, you do have to prune it to keep the shape.
What do you plan to do in the fall winter? Cover whole thing in burlap?
It's hardy to zone 3, she's in zone 5. It should not need any winter protection. The leaves will die off.
Love Pinky Winky...have the non-standard shrub...but, I think the the lollypop might be grafted...can you check pls.
tannenbaum no, you should check, proven winners have an article on their website on how to grow a standard from a regular shrub, these are not grafted
I love I so much! Does the compost you put on top ever clog up the holes on the drip tubing? I guess the holes are facing down so maybe not.
I was wondering the same thing
Do you have hard water in your garden and if so using the type of hose with holes every 18 inches how do you keep them from plugging up?
Can you suggest flowers around the base of a double water fountain for full sun ? I live in Zone 8 North Carolina.
Remember the giant concrete lol
is there any video thats new, to show how much it grown over the years?
Me Encanta 👏🏼😍💕
Sou Brasileira! Amo seus vídeos.

Could u update on how the tree looks like now
Im wondering about the amount of water it is going to get from the downspout. It may drown.
Wildflower wind she gets hardly any rain so any water from the downspout will be much appreciated by the hydrangea
