OMG thank you sooo much! This was completely helpful! My husband was so afraid we would break ours…we tried adjusting while they were open. My boys were jealous that famous youtubers mentioned their mother!!!! THANKS AGAIN!!!!
I agree! Wish even the RV center had given that as a heads up when extending the awning if it's raining. Yes it is costly. For me over $1600 dollars to fix it. Yuk!
Great video . Question ? Stationary and high winds of 40mph , is it safe to tye awnings to ground , if not ( which I really don't trust ) Is there a way to attach screening to rig for shade ? TIA
We never like to tie our awning down especially in heavy winds. We have actually saw the awning rip off the camper and it was still tied to the ground. The awning acts like a parachute if there is enough wind something has to give
Questions: it won't hurt the motor extending/retracting the awning on two different settings? And, if it doesn't hurt the motor, can you set it at more of an angle - say 4/6 or even 3/6 - if it is raining a little harder? Thanks!
We have adjusted to the 5/6 and haven't seen any issues with the motor. Yes you can adjust them to 3/6. We don't know how it would do rolling them in at that angle.
You are overextending your awning. On the tube part that rolls the fabric is a yellow sticker (I saw it in the video) it says if you can see this you have overextended your awning.
Thanks for the tip! But it really doesnt matter on our brand awning. It will roll back up inside out if we go too far. Plus on ours it helps to angle the awning lights too
@@FindUsCamping just because it will roll up inside out doesn’t mean that’s good for it and I can see in the video the sticker that specifically says “if you can see this sticker you have overextended your awning” doesn’t matter what kind you have you are overextending it

I wish we had that on our 2011 Jayco
Now that we know it is there it sure makes it nice.

Unfortunately, almost every awning manufacturer has a different way to change the pitch, and some are not intuitive
Yes. That is absolutely true. This video helps with the carefree awning mostly
