The same kind of trash talk occured in 2000 Olympic trials in 200m between Johnson and Maurice Green. In the warming up area before the race there were a lot of side eyes... they both start the race but none finished it because both got injured... and the same kind of injury... so none of them was qualified to race the 2000 OG 200m.

I can tell your not bias when you talk about Usain supposedly doing the same thing. I don't believer either of them faked an injury but the difference between you and the other commenters who say Johnson faked his injury is that they didn't bring Usain supposedly did the same thing in that other race because he was Jamaican so I know now that your not just saying that just because Johnson was American. Huge respect to you sir.

First of all, Bolt took the bronze in his open 100m, it was the 4 x 100m where he got injured. He had been suffering from hamstring problems, and they caught up to him. Also, Jamaica course still won the race, there would’ve been no reason for Bolt to fake

Johnson bought into all the hype that surrounded him. Bailey's top speed was crazy back then, that was obvious to track and field aficionados.
Of course Johnson "pulled-up lame" when he saw he was going to get smoked. Many people were happy to see him exposed.

And MJ whined and cried about having to run part the race as a curve, where he thought he had an advantage. MJ pulled up lame when DB made up the stager. Was a cowardly act. Guy was delusional. Easily under 9 seconds flat so there never was any argument to be had in the first place. MJ never had elite speed, he just had all time great speed endurance. This event happens because of the states media keep telling Michael Johnson as the fastest man thus the sadly thing is Michael Johnson claim himself as the fastest man.
I remember few months after the Olympic there was an adidas commercial of Donovan Bailey as the fastest man.
Bailey got the real bag after Olympic.
The 100m winner is the fastest man on earth.
The sport column on newspaper keep brought the debate about who the fastest man is ?
Most article stated Bailey as the fastest man, but the us media lean on Michael Johnson.
I does not watch this 150m race but I knew it in the morning from the newspaper.
The photo of Donovan Bailey cross the finish line and grab 1.500.000 us dollar, the time was flat 15 seconds, not wrote as 14,99 s.
Donovan Bailey is the 100m world record holder, how could anyone doubt about him.
    Stated the newspaper.

It also due of Bailey and friends beats US team at 1996 olympic relay men 4 x 100m.
The US stated they Will take revenge on the relay and get gold on US soil.
Dennis Mitchel could not catch Bailey.
After the race, Dennis Mitchell saying he could pass Bailey if there was any 10 meters left 😂

I was there. Bailey had his number. Even if Johnson didn’t get injured he wasn’t going to win. Bailey was simply faster. Doesn’t take anything away from Johnson. He was a phenomenal athlete but he was never the fastest man in the world and anyone who thinks otherwise doesn’t understand basic Newtonian mechanics. Bob Costas is a tool.

  • @AnonW
    @AnonW 8 місяців тому

So fkin obvious that the fastest 100M sprinter > the fastest 200M sprinter in terms of being the fastest man in the world in top speed without sustainability considerations, otherwise the 200M sprinter can jus go win both the 100M and the 200M... U think Johnson wouldn't want a 100M medal along with his 200 and 400M medals?
