We had amazing cherry blossoms in our own street here in Canterbury, a quiet cul de sac in the suburbs. I took many photos and videos. Interestingly the various different types of cherry trees have slightly different bloom dates, which extends the whole bloom season each year. We returned from Vancouver in time to enjoy our Canterbury cherry blossoms for several weeks, though we just missed the amazing cherry blossoms in Vancouver and in Washington state. Will watch your video with great interest. Thank You and hope all is well with you and family.
I can quite imagine the beautiful streets of Canterbury filled with cherry blossoms, and you're right, they do all seem to bloom at different times; our dark blossoms have now died off, so I'm hoping others are continuing for a little longer. A shame you missed the displays back in Canada, I'll check out webcams in case they cover any of the best ones. Just recovering from the 'proper' flu, ie the completely comatose variety, which seems to turn up once a decade... keeps the immune system in check I suppose... All the best, Angela

Yes, we were well aware we were missing the Vancouver Cherry blossom festival as well as across the border in Washington State. We also missed the huge tulip festivals over there as well as the daffodils that precede the tulips. But there again we went to NEC Birmingham for several events.
I've tried twice to post a comment to you here, the first of which was a long one, drawing comparisons between the cherry blossoms on both sides of the pond. Alas, both comments are gone!

This holds a special interest for me, as Vancouver is very well known indeed for it's annual cherry blossom festival which is huge. They even have an online bloom map of all the numerous Vancouver streets for viewing the amazing cherry blossoms and the map is updated daily. If you search in YT for "Vancouver cherry blossoms" you'll get an idea of the scale of it. Also, across the border in Washington state USA, the University of Western Washington is very well known for it's amazing cherry blossom displays every year. It draws huge crowds. Have a look in YT for "Western Washington University cherry blossoms". Anyhow, I know I have this tendency to draw parallel examples between here and Canada / USA based on my own experiences. Mum and l will watch your video very soon. We are relatively familiar with parts of Kensington since as you know, we visit London Olympia fairly regularly, as well.as walk along Kensington High Street.
