looks sick only thing is would say is the wheel seems a bit off, id be more immersive if the steering was configured and calibrated to each game and custom to your own drive feel, i see its a thrustmeter wheel so this wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility

Update....I was able to get 2 daytona cab racers with a full plug and play build by buystuffarcades with only a 3 week build time. It won't have Retro's pc and bells/whistles like you have, but it will have buystuff's gaming box that I think they use with the Ridge Racer kits. I don't know how much downgrade in the racing and games it will be compared to yours, but I'll take the 3 weeks over 6 months, lol. Anyway, thanks for your help to the community.

I dig this form factor. It reminds me of a 90's Midway Deluxe style racing cab on the base with a giant pinball back box for the monitor. It looks like they used a burly 3/4" thickness for the base as well which is nice.

So it's a thrustmaster wheel. The cheapest version of said wheel because of the pedals. It's a logitech shifter. It's a basic racing chair just added onto a box that allows you to move forward/backward. The really cool stuff is the Cab itself and the fact all the games come together in an easy to use box. It's maybe 500 bucks for the wheel/shifter/chair (if you find the right discounts.) 3200 bucks -500 = $2700. Is it really worth that for this? I guess if you have the money to throw at something that just works outta the box. That's not terrible. But I don't think this is for me unfortunately.

Great video! How "plug and play" is the PC? I'm not sure I want a computer in my gameroom (booting it up, using a mouse/keyboard to navigate, updating it, troubleshooting/fixing if something goes wrong, etc, etc). Kind of want to turn it on and have it go right into the games menu. I'm not good with computers. I have nightmares about turning it on one day, and having it not work... ton of money out the window. Their "Racing Box" might be better for me, but it's mostly console games. What do you think, Brad? I'd also love to see a simple plug and play light gun set up similar to what you built a while ago.

I’m not sure what “they” you are referring to, but the software on this build was fully configured by Retro Lizard’s custom Arcades and the wheel *is* fully setup on all games. It really was plug-in and play ready.
But I am a huge proponent for people knowing how these things work. That way they can change it on the fly to better fit their preferences if they want.
Joel at Retro Lizard’s offers tutorials on how he configured each emulator and can help users reconfigure if they wish to learn
