Soooo... 4 months in the making and I finally finished my first pair (this pattern) of mittens. Not that it literally took me 4 months but between work, family and other crafts... yeah. But yay! finally completed & my sister-in-law Loves! them. They will be prefect for the Seattle (area) fall/winter seasons. Thank you for sharing this pattern & instructing it so nicely that even a beginner like me could understand. Thank you!
I just finished my first mitten😁 your tutorial is excellent. It was incredibly easy to follow and I love that you make sure that viewers can see exactly what you’re doing. THANK YOU SO MUCH🥰
Than you very much, they ARE perfect for beginners 😍 Some more time sets for me : Round 17 (being thumb hole) 9:20 Round 21 (first HDC2tog) 13:49 Round 23 18:40 Round 24-28 20:40 Begin the thumb 22:28
Thank you so much for the easy to follow instruction for the beginner like me! i am so happy for my first mittens that i mede for my 47-year-young son! 😅 i look forward to do other project from your video! Much Blessings!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I'm still quite the novice in the world of crochet and I finished my first mitten thanks to your instructions!!! Still have to make the mate but I love it.
I just found your mittens video. I have retired and trying new things in crocheting. You video is wonderful for me to crochet with you. I’m so excited. My friends are getting mittens for Christmas 🎄😀. Thank you so much for not speeding up your video and explaining everything you do. Merry Christmas from Rockmart, Ga!
just wanted to write a quick thank you for this video. I just finished one of the gloves and now I'm off to do the second one. Your instructions were very clear, your video quality is excellent, and you are an amazing teacher! Also, I'm really liking your way of doing hdc2tog. I'm fairly new to crochet and so far I have been doing it with 5 loops on hook at the end, but with your way the resulting decrease stitch is seamless with the rest of the stitches! Love it!
This is a great pattern. I love the plain HDC. I've made one so far and the sizing nd fit is perfect as I wear a small glove. The Patons Classic Wool worsted in colour Heather works out really nice. Just found your account! 😊
This is the best one I’ve found. I like the magic circle closure. Not all bulked up and the thumbs are really great. Some are really fat and bulky. Soooooo... I’m wondering if this mitt could have a cuff on it seeing you start at the other end. In my head I think I can add a rubbed cuff but I guess I won’t know till I try it. Anyway... thank you for this easy to adjust and follow mitt pattern. You’re very good at what you do. Never have I seen someone hold your hook like that. I’m a newbie. Just learned about six months ago. But I’ve made 22 blankets now so moving on to hats and mitts for the grand children. Thanks again.
I just completed my second pair and did a ribbed cuff. If you visit her blog at leftinknots.com there are instructions for different cuffs. Hope this helps
Thanks for this easy pattern, it will be my go to for mittens though I have to learn again how to keep a straight seam in the round. I used Premier parfait and made adjustments to fit and it’s lovely ❣️🍫🍫🍫
Thank you for this tutorial. It was very easy for me to follow and I was able to change the stiches to match a hat and cowl I made for myself. I subscribed and liked the video. Thanks again! 😄👍
Great tutorial. Very well explained. Thank you! I was looking for basic mittens to make in bunches to donate. I will add a cuff, your mitten is perfect. Thanks again!👍🏼👏🏼😊❤️
Hi I have a couple questions. . When you slip stitch to join and start again are you alway putting hdc in the stitch that you slip stitch in?? You are so good love your mitt style
Hello! Would I have to do more increases if I have a slightly thinner yarn? At the end of R3, the diameter of my work is 5cm and I'm not certain if that's big enough (I do have tiny hands)? I'm using 100% Baby Alpaca (Worsted/Aran) 112 yards for 50grams if that info helps?
I like this glove but I wonder how you can make them both the same even though the thumb seems tailored for a right hand. How is that gonna fit the left?
16:05 So after the first decrease round, I end up with 7 stitches instead of 9 to finish with. I went back and counted and even redid the round to be sure, but I end up with 7 in the end. Did I miscount or do something wrong? it ends up working fine in the end, so I guess it's not a big deal, but I just want to clear that up. This tutorial is awesome otherwise!
I’m used to doing mostly blankets and scarves and head bands all easy things to crochet. I want to learn mittens and hats really so bad but I’m not catching on to how to half double crochet into a magic circle? I’m so baffled on how to do this? I have a how to crochet book that I learned most of the stitches and I love doing the double crochet the most! But this book said nothing about the magic circle? Only how to work in the rounds and joking stitches to make a circle. I really need help with how to create stitches in a magic circle. I have spent hours trying to figure it out but still struggling.
Melanie Ham does a great video on Magic Circle. Also, look up her beginner crochet hat tutorial and she goes over how to insert stitches into the circle
Hi! Yes, chain 4 and join your yarn (slip stitch) to first chain to create a circle/ring. Chain 1 and do the 10 HDC right into the circle you created. Pull the tail of yarn to close up ring. I don't use magic circle method, I just make a ring with chain stitches. Hope this helps😊😄
No. It shouldn’t make a difference. Except at the end you won’t have to do the dreaded weaving in. I sometimes struggle with that extra yarn as I create new stitches, so prefer to leave them out and weave later when it stresses me out trying to crochet over the ends.
This is not a beginner tutorial...the stitches around the thumb do not add up and you go way too fast at these critical junctures...frustrating tutorial but too late to start another.
it's an easy tutorial. I like to put the captions on and I pause when needed. it's never too late to start another if you get frustrated. put it down for a day or so then go back to try it again
Best tutorial Ive seen thanks

I just finished my first mitten😁 your tutorial is excellent. It was incredibly easy to follow and I love that you make sure that viewers can see exactly what you’re doing. THANK YOU SO MUCH🥰
By far the BEST mitten tutorial!! Ty for this clear easy pattern❤️
Than you very much, they ARE perfect for beginners 😍 Some more time sets for me :
Round 17 (being thumb hole) 9:20
Round 21 (first HDC2tog) 13:49
Round 23 18:40
Round 24-28 20:40
Begin the thumb 22:28
Very easy to follow tutorial.
What a superb video!!!! This beginner thanks you so much! Total fun!!!
Ya’ll who hate the magic circle as much as I do can chain four and slip stitch. Worked just fine for me. Great pattern though! I love my mitts
I haven't started doing this mitten but thank you for making it with number four yarn because that is the only yarn I have. Thank You!
This is a great mitten. I followed the written pattern and when I got stuck came back here. Thank you. Love it.
I love how easy this is to follow thanks for sharing your talent with us UA-camrs 😂

Best easiest mitten. Love that the wrist comes in a little. Easy enough to adorn and add a wristband 😁🌷💝

Awesome tutorial thanks so much!
Thank you so much. I just purchased patterns from you on Ravelry. Can’t wait to get started.
I know I am kind of off topic but does anybody know a good site to stream new tv shows online?
Love your instructions. So easy to follow. Awesome. Thank you.
They are all the so Beautiful thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for sharing...that's a great tutorial!
nice pattern worked well for my kyle cosplay
Thank you for showing this tutorial. I need a pair of mittens that actually fit.
Hi! I am beginner. Can you make a close-up to the camera? It is impossible to appreciate the steps or knits you do.
Like the idea of making mitten inside out, easier way to weave in tails♥
Appreciate her deliberate and clear instructions my only criticism is that the camera's not up close enough to really get the detail of her work
This is excellent! Thank you so much!!!
Is this pattern available in PDF form. Or something I can down load. Love it❤
Great!! The camera zoomed in would be awesome!!👍🏻👍🏻
What would be a good rule of thumb for the ratio between chains and skipped paces on the thumb hole?
Im going to use all cotton yarn and make oven mitts
GREAT VIDEO BUT WOULD BE BETTER IF YOU COULD ZOOM IN SO WE COULD SEE BETTER! THANKS!
Wish I could see it better

Great tutorial. Very well explained. Thank you! I was looking for basic mittens to make in bunches to donate. I will add a cuff, your mitten is perfect. Thanks again!👍🏼👏🏼😊❤️
What size are you making? I need a small child’s mitten.
Made one 😀 thank you! Getting ready to make the second one 💗
Hi I’m looking for a pattern using finger weight yarn and mittens do you know of such a pattern
Hi I have a couple questions. . When you slip stitch to join and start again are you alway putting hdc in the stitch that you slip stitch in?? You are so good love your mitt style
Thanks! This is great!!
I need a pattern without the thumb - just a mitten. Do you have the pattern dear?
It doesn't matter with mittens. Just flip it over.
Hi it would be great if you could zoom in so we get a better view if what you're doing! Thanks!
16:05 So after the first decrease round, I end up with 7 stitches instead of 9 to finish with. I went back and counted and even redid the round to be sure, but I end up with 7 in the end. look for videos on youtube. I highly recommend the crochet crowd they're amazing
Melanie Ham does a great video on Magic Circle. Also, look up her beginner crochet hat tutorial and she goes over how to insert stitches into the circle
Timestamp: 22:21 is where the thumb instructions start
💙
Is there a way to do this without making the magic circle
Crochet Lass
Thank you so much for the help. I tried over an hour last night to try to get the magic circle and I just couldn’t do it
@@XxItalianVampPrinces
Hi there! Glad to be of help, I hope it worked out😊
Crochet Lass
I am making mittens next right now I am working on a slouchy hat for someone then I am going back to trying the mittens.
@@XxItalianVampPrinces if I can be of any help with the mittens, I'd be happy to😀🙌
10 chain into ring
20 hdc
2, 1 hdc rep = 30
Awesome thank you
I need left handed
ua-cam.com/video/xQEvrVHcYQ0/v-deo.html
How many stiches would you start with for a man size?
you could try using a larger hook that helps a lot with size. At least that's what I do
Camera is too far, I cannot see what's going on with the stitches. I think in the future it would be better to zoom in quite a bit
Left handed
Since my hands are really swamped I’m going to do Less than that
I'm looking for child size ugh
If I choose to crochet my ends in as I go instead if weaving them in will that make a difference?
No. It shouldn’t make a difference. Except at the end you won’t have to do the dreaded weaving in. I sometimes struggle with that extra yarn as I create new stitches, so prefer to leave them out and weave later when it stresses me out trying to crochet over the ends.
I can’t follow along because I can’t see what you are doing well
This is not a beginner tutorial...the stitches around the thumb do not add up and you go way too fast at these critical junctures...frustrating tutorial but too late to start another.
it's an easy tutorial. I like to put the captions on and I pause when needed. it's never too late to start another if you get frustrated. put it down for a day or so then go back to try it again
I agree with you. Instructions are not consistent and I had trouble around the thumb as well. Not beginner friendly :(
Do you realize your crocheting them inside out???
Of course she does. If you watch the video you turn them right side at the end
