I had a go at the Fowler / Class 20 formation. The one step in the BR Class 20 locomotive manual for multiple working that wasn't followed was to isolate the Exhauster in the trailing cab. Unfortunately I couldn't get moving even though according to the gauge in the brake coach I had continuity. To get the initial vacuum I had to open an ejector temporarily on the F4 and close it again but even with the brake gauges between the vehicles indicating continuity I couldn't get moving so it seems DTG haven't tested diesels rescuing steam trains. It's always fun trying these things.
The chat about TSW5 is lovely and personally i think we need to see more of the WORLD part of the title. So many great countries railways haven't been represented yet. I think the Netherlands would be lovely. Or a Kiwi Rail route?
