This is my favorite Zeppelin song. I was learning drums and being taught Steely Dan songs. My teacher asked me to bring in something I wanted to learn. I brought this. He was overwhelmed by the drumming. He kept saying "ok, ok, ok" through the whole song.😅 I love the drums here especially the hi-hat. And the fills. Listen again to just the drums.😅👍
This song is in my top 10 of all-time-favorites! My parents listened to R&B and Soul in the 70s but my uncle listened to rock. He lived with us for a short time when I was 6 or 7 and I remember his room had all these posters of men with long hair, makeup (KISS), and he always had cranking music streaming from his room.
Yes they all shine in all the songs, & each have their chance to dominate a song, of course Plants vocals are the main feature in all. This isn’t one of their underrated songs, there’s several amazing masterpieces, that average listeners have no clue about. Plant always uses his vocals perfect for every song. Jimmy Page did all the producing editing & work with the different engineers, & all of the remastering, re said not much was done in remastering them. I know he switched them to more modern versions of like CD’s etc. He’s the keeper of the music, since he founded the band, & has always had complete control over their music. A very smart move on his part, & right from the beginning.

Thank you for your reaction.
glad you liked it, better than Stairway for me---the groove is killer and lyrics so smooth
My respect for Plant and Page is a given, but gosh, Bonham was just a monster. And John Paul Jones is one of the most underrated musicians ever.
LOTR for me. Led 2nd. Both.. amazing
The connection to the Lord of the Rings trilogy is more than obvious. Unless you are not well read. Its not a play on words.
