I bought the Roku Express package because I love my 16 year old (2008) 37" Toshiba flat panel television. I bought it for $40 five years ago and it still works perfectly. With 720p upscaling, the Roku Express vastly improved the picture quality. Even though I've been enjoying the Roku set up for 2 months, the amount of viewing choices is still overwhelming. I love Pluto TVs Classic television. If I wake up at 3am I can watch an old Mission Impossible episode or The Outer Limits. So many free choices! I also use the mirroring function to read e books from my 37 inch screen.
Love the Roku Express 4K+ with voice remote. I bought one for each of my TV's (3). Easy to use, and you don't need a 4K TV, only an HDMI port! Excellent, easy to use and inexpensive! So Happy with it!
Just ordered this off the Roku screen for $24.99 to replace a overly cluttered Fire Stick/Recast and a very older Roku stick. Works nicely with the Homerun and Plex.
fire sticks are no good. they buffer for all the time
I bought mine because my smart tv( worked fine ) was just a mess
The Roku Express 4K looks a lot better and I am planning on getting it later this year.

I’m happy with Roku generally, but why can’t they add the ability to enter a channel by the number instead of all the scrolling?
Because no streaming service has channels by number
Now a thing with Roku that would come in handy is if you can have up what you are currently subscribed to. Then put what you pay for on the regular not subscribed to on pause/hidden until ready to do so again. So that way it makes it cleaner. And doesn't outright delete it from the home page.
Totally agree! I wish Roku would let us customize our homescreen a little at least and have a faster way to navigate through all the apps for the ones that want to do it. Maybe we need to give them that feedback.
@@chalabrooks5433 well I heard that the fire stick 4k is faster.
You can move the apps around so those that you are subscribed to or other favorites can be at the beginning, and you can delete the apps you don't want.

I have the Roku Express HD and it is really awesome, I used to have a Amazon FireTv Stick and it was a pain in the butt. Because some of the things on there I liked to watch were locked behind a paywall, I’m really excited that I can watch the Boomerang channel so I can go back and watch some old classic cartoons and I’ll be watching a ton of Pluto Tv too 😁.
I can't believe they're charging people to watch episodes of Seinfeld. Back on the 90s you could watch 3 episodes a day on local channels.

As a cord cutters you should be in control of your device, not your device in control of you. My device was a roku and now I own a nivida sheild .

Be warned. After their November update, the Roku media player no longer works offline. A disclaimer appears requesting access to the contents of your external drive. The information is then shared with other apps on the device. If you decline the Roku will not allow you to access the contents. This is clearly being done to report users who download illegal content.
I love my Roku,I had to do a chat with customer support and they were very helpfull and told me I had a remote that would not work as purchased,so I ordered the right one on Roku web site and it worked right away! Cord Cutters News has always been helpfull.
Is there a way to recharge a Roku Remote wirelessly? There are many devices that now have the ability to recharge phones etc by placing the phone on a USB charger/generator etc. I find recharging a Roku device using the ROKU provided usb cable difficult (not correct word) at times. The cable has to be attached to the Roku remote is a particular way, otherwise the remote won't recharge. I'm constantly looking at the Roku recharging light to ensure cable is attached to the remote correctly.

Black Friday info: bought te 4K Stick today, Walmart. Error 022 out of the box, internet loaded with same complaints, FYI. Returning it for *this model. Fingers crossed...

Roku really needs to let US decide what buttons we need ! (Assign each button )
It’s a decent source of revenue for them by letting the companies pay for the button placement.
@@poppy87 I wonder how much they'd charge for a roku with only programmable choices on the remote... If hulu has a "no ads" option that's double the price, what's roku's version of that?

I understand I can take my Roku Express 4K+ setup with me on vacation, and hook up to a different wifi and TV at the new location. Do I follow exactly the instructions, as tho this is a new roku instalation, or are there steps I will need to skip?
Also, when I use it at a second location, or return to my home, will I need to completely log in again? Is there a video available showing this proceedure?
I do not own the newest Roku so keep that in mind. But my experience with Roku is that the only thing that needs to be done when moving locations is to connect to the Wi-Fi. Just select the Wi-Fi in network set-up and enter the password. Everything else is exactly as it would be at home, no need to set up everything again. So basically you get on the Wi-Fi and right back to normal usage like at home :-)

I wish the Roku remote would light up.
I need to upgrade. I unplug my roku stick at night or when I leave the house. The stick gets really hot and I worry it will catch a fire or damage my tv. I've heard others have had the same issues. My firestick never gets hot or even warm.
Have a Roku Premiere 4K Video all messed up heat over load.
My roommate's firestick used to get pretty warm.

I have this same Roku player, plugged onto a small Vizio TV (USB is also plugged into the TV). When I turn them on using the Roku remote I have to press the power button twice before the both the TV and Roku turn on. Not a big deal, just curious if anyone has any idea why?
I bought a Roku Express 4K + about 6 months ago, the remote is already malfunctioning. It won't back space at all using the top left button. My old Roku never did this. Basically the remote is not good with the 4K. Now I need to buy a new remote. Not real happy.
But is the HDR and picture quality good?

Hello guys I am about to get another tv. I want it to be a 65". I know there could be some superbowl deals out there. I prefer not to spend more than $500 for one. Anyone has a recommendation?
My suggestion is Walmart. They have some great deals on TV's. TCL, Hisense, etc. Plus you get to compare picture & OS (Fire, Roku or proprietary) I bought a 50" Hisense Roku TV from there a few years ago for $229. It has a great picture and have had no issues with it whatsoever. My Dad told me he was there a few days ago and saw an 80" for $500. He didn't catch the brand, probably Walmart's Onn. Hope this helps.

Roku express wifi reception sucks. Ok if your within 10' of your router. Streaming stick 4k wifi was 10 times better. Worked good from one end of the house to the other.

DON'T BUY THIS MODEL!!! ROKU DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS MODEL!!! "Agent Support" is not available for ANY of the Express models. It is in their list of current models (on June 7, 2023) but they are selling at a $10 discount until June 17, 2023 with a limit of 3 per customer "while supplies last". So it looks like an EOL (End of Life) closeout which they no longer provide support for.
