In all honesty, that Canadian Cartoon version is the best and coolest version. The studio that made it had to do a lot of cleaning up to make that property palpable to a wider viewing audience.
Fun fact: in the closing song of the musical, Lydia actually does do the whole dancing while hovering in the air thing. It's the last big effect before the show ends! The musical's effects are amazing and sorta understated unfortunately!

The original Dragonball manga was a comedy manga, and Goku always turning out to be more powerful than other people expected was basically a running gag that snowballed. And what she finds is a surrealist children’s cartoon that thinks youthful rebellion and horror is goth culture, stylish decay, and quippy word reversal. And the broadway Lydia basically is the sequel’s daughter at the start. Which adds a bit of spice to the mindfuck.

It worked fine in Frank Wildhorn's Dracula the musical. There's an in-air flip and bat perch at the end of the "Life after Life" song.

In all fairness, it would totally make sense for Betelgeuse purposely not making the birth physically painful to Lydia, but given that she literally just gestated and birthed an ENTIRE ASS BabyJuice, that’s still pretty damn traumatic even without any labor pains…

Well, in the 1st movie yes but in the 2nd one it felt like he was actually in love with Lydia and wanted to be with her

This about it... every time Beetlejuice is recreated Lydia grows. Like in the show she’s a kid and I’m the musical/ firs move she’s a teenager and in the 2ed move she’s an adult.

I like these comics, they just remind me of the old cartoon I loved to watch back in the old day. Might look for the episodes and watch them again 'cuz i actually dont remember much besides beej and lydia being friendly too each other
