Judy...what a super person you are...the Christening gown is lovely...your book Affectionately Yours is something I searched for several years ago but didn't find...you are such a treasure...best wishes❤❤
What a beautiful idea to be able to add the history and pictures to the heirloom as it continues to be passed down to generations. And what a wonderful book you’ve created. Happy Mothers Day!
Judy, what a wonderful floss tube 🤩👍 what a family treasure of your mother’s beautiful christening gown ! I also look back to all the questions I should I have asked my mother through out the years, but are so grateful for our shared memories. Have a wonderful Mother’s Day 🥰
Happy Mother’s Day. Beautiful memories and such a treasure to have such a wonderful heirloom. Thank you for sharing. I love samplers. My wee grandson asked me why I had so many alphabets when he was learning his ABC’s. I think he thought I might be too old to remember them.
The Christening Gown is so stunning and beautiful. It was amazing to see the work it takes you to make a design. Your work is one of a kind and gorgeous.
Judy, what an amazing share! Your christening gown is stunning and such a treasure for your family! And yes, document everything you can about it. It was so enjoyable to hear about your design styles. Thank you for sharing your beautiful patterns and inspiration. 💗
I am so glad you enjoyed the video Nancy, and yes, I will definitely write documentation for the dress. It should have been done ages ago! But now I am inspired!
Oh Judy, This video was fabulous!! All the joys of your family updates, that gorgeous Christening Gown, and baby gifts, showing us the process for your beautiful designs and the news of the upcoming Christmas Carol Collection Book! I was having a rough day today when I decided to sit down and watch FlossTube and picked yours first. It changed my whole day and filled me with tears of joy and excitement over each topic you covered. Thank you so very much for sharing with us !! xoxoxo
Dear Barbara, I could not ask for a better compliment. And I am so sorry that you were having a rough day. And yes, I too hope we can meet in person one day. I know that so many of you would be friends. Hope your day today is a.bit better.
Wonderful video showing your design process, thank you for sharing all, the christening dress is absolutely beautiful and even more precious being handmade, happy mothers day and blessings to you too ❤️🇬🇧

Happy Mother’s Day,Judy! I always enjoy your videos. This time, thank you for sharing your creative process. I really enjoyed the look into chintz dinnerware. I too love beautiful dinnerware pieces!
Dear Linda, it is really wonderful to have beautiful pieces of china. I have a very large collection of blue and white, and should stop collecting, but it’s very hard! Thanks for watching!
The christening dress is such a treasure! I’m so excited for the Christmas stocking book. As soon as it’s ready I’ll be calling my LNS to preorder. Thanks for all you do.
Judy, I’m in Alabama and work n a shop where we custom make Christening gowns. Yours is beautiful and such a family treasure! How blessed you are nor only to have it, but to have seen so many family members wear it! 🥰 just love it!
How lucky you are Charlotte to work in a shop which makes such heirlooms. My friend and I had such admiration for the children’s clothing made in the south. And yes, we are blessed to have so many family members wear it. Thank you!
I have done Sewing In The Round for myself and put my initials in it. I'm going to make one for each of my quilting friends for Christmas in their favorite color, there are 7 of us. I quilt, sew, crochet, hand embroidery, crazy quilting also garden and love to cook.
Debra, you are so creative also, in so many areas. And making 7 of one design means you will know the pattern by heart eventually. What a wonderful gift!
What a lovely way to celebrate your designs - my first JBW design I stitched was french country pineapple which enchanted me and my daughter with the little shapes inside that make up the pineapple. So sweet for fall and reminds me of my trip to Williamsburg.
Enjoyed your video today. Especially enjoyed see the christening robe and look forward to possibly seeing a picture of your great granddaughter wearing it. The work that went into that was immense and a lot of love from your Mom went into that for sure. I found your talk on your design process and the story behind them interesting. I am always amazed at how designers come up with their designs. I always like to try and have the designers autograph their books when they are available, I think it adds to the occasion of purchase and is a great memory. Enjoyed seeing your design book for all occasions and was saddened to hear you say it was out of print. The designs were beautiful on the cover as always. Have an enjoyable family celebration and christening and I look forward to hearing about it next time.
Thank you Carol , and I am so sorry that the book is out of print also. It may be on the secondary market but I have not checked to see if that is true. Thanks so much for watching and for your sweet letter.
Hi Judy! What a beautiful Christening gown and story. I’m sure both will be cherished by your family for many many years to come. I very much enjoyed hearing about your design process and of course, seeing the models of your lovely pieces. I am VERY excited to hear the Sing a Song series will be put into one book! It’s already on my wish list. When you were talking about bunnies, I seemed to recall that you had stitched a bunny pattern by another designer that you showed a while back. It made me wonder what designers or designs you gravitate towards when you have the rare opportunity, I’m sure, to do some stitching for yourself. I love it if you’d show some of those pieces on a future Flosstube, or maybe show one every now and then on an episode. Happy Mother’s Day!
Happy Mother's Day! The christening gown is beautiful and love the history behind it! My new granddaughter will soon be christened as well, but her gown is not quite as old!
What a beautiful christening dress, precious! All the little hand stitching is awesome. And a precious heirloom. Of course your designs are awesome. I am finally getting to collect and stitch some, but want so many more. Hugs.
I enjoyed this video. The Christening Dress is absolutely beautiful, and the fact that it was hand stitched by your mother is amazing. I like the idea of you recording the history of the dress and adding photos of all the babies that wore it. Beautiful heirloom. I am so excited for the possibility of your Sing a Song series coming out in one booklet, I want to stitch these and put them on my Christmas Tree.
Hello Judy the baby blanket is beautiful. I am stitching When Cardinals Appear and enjoying every second and each stitch thank you for this design. The christening robe is stunning a real treasure. Perhaps you are a rabbit in the Chinese Horoscope. As always so delightful to see your videos. Happy stitching
That gown - what a treasure! I love chintz ware and have collected some too - so sweet. Litchfield is a very special place, all the homes are black and white. It is close to my daughter's house. I had planned on watching that documentary, we love so many of the same things. Great video, you are a true artist! hugs
Dear Kathie, oh I am so glad you told me about the homes in Litchfield. I did not know that fact, and how lucky you are to, have your daughter living nearby. Happy mother day to you!
All the time, love and joy your mother took to make a beautiful Christening Gown and what she would say today knowing that it is still being wore and loved by all her ancestries. Happy Mothers Day to you and the women in your family.
Thank you so much. My grand daughter in law is thrilled that her daughter is going to be wearing it. So grateful for all of the wonderful women in our lives.
Hi Judy! Always a lovely flosstube. I enjoyed hearing about the things that inspire you when you design your patterns. Thank you, I love the quote ♡ Enjoy your week 🌷
Well of course I’m interested in Affectionate Yours. The beautiful Christening Dress reminded me of my grandmother. She once told me that using patterns was cheating. She had an old singer manual machine. Thanks for sharing.
Dear Sharon, How I wish I had 50 copies of that book to give away. The few that were left went very quickly. Your grandmother must have been very talented!
The christening dress is beautiful. My mom had one too, I think it’s still in her cedar chest that some how my brother has. Both my girls were christened in it. I love all you designs. I was fortunate enough to get your book. Thank you for a great video
What a beautiful baptismal gown. How lucky for you. I have a little dress all hand sewn. I have it on a padded hanger. I always marvel at the beautiful and delicate stitching.
Another wonderful flosstube..thank you for the designing insight..I look forward to the book with the Christmas songs..I would love to stitch a man on a steed just because it’s unusual and I think if you design it, It would become a masterpiece 🙂. Happy Stitching 🙋♀️
I just love your designs and would love the book Affectionly Yours. The Christmas carol Little Drummer Boy is my favorite Carol. Also your book on China Patterns call Chintz. I have all my grandmother's china cups and saucers. They are so beautiful and my husband loves them also. Sunday, May 19th will be Dan's and mine 34th anniversary. Dan is Native American and I am white (Swed and German) . WALK IN PEACE ❤ ❤ ❤
What a great episode. The christening dress is such a special memory piece. Love the sharing of your designs and how they develop. Happiest stitching ❤❤
That gown! So precious. I am a middle daughter and didn't get a lot of the family heirlooms. But what I have I treasure. Loved hearing the history of it. Also, yes we are interested in other patterns from the flights of fancy original antique. I saw that when you first showed it and hoped you would release that horse and officer. So majestic!
As always, I enjoyed your Flosstube. The christening dress is a treasure!! It was interesting to see a glimpse of your design process. Colorado Cross Stitch is my go-to LNS and I enjoy attending the Wednesday night stitch group there.
Such a sweet video this time. My mom was multi talented, she painted, knit, crafted, and sewed for me her whole life. She made my wedding gown and it was the most beautiful one in the world. My sisters and I are the last of our family line, so sadly, no passing down to the next generation. I wish you the happiest of Mother's (Grandmother's and Great Grandmother's) Day. Thank you for your generosity and creativity.
Dear Davi, you have reminded me about my aunt Ceil. She was like your Mom, as you could sew anything. She too made her wedding dress, and even suits for her husband. And clothing for her children. And my cousins, as far as I know, do not see, but that is often the case. My mother in law was a very talented stitcher and musician yet none of her children and grandchildren inherited her musical talents. Thank you for your sweet note.
Beautiful video. The Christening gown is gorgeous! I would love a copy of your book. I have your cardinal chart to stitch in memory of my mother who died in August. Emily
Dear Emily, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom. And I hope stitching the design can bring you a sense of calm knowing that she is watching over you .
Hello! I just found your channel and I’ve subscribed. You have such a soothing voice, and I really enjoyed listening to your design process. Seeing the thought and effort that I know designers put into patterns makes me treasure the patterns I’ve purchased even more. The Christening dress is beautiful and I’m glad you’ve been able to pass it down through generations - how special! Happy stitching! ☺️🪡
Judy, I just started my first pattern “When Cardinals Appear “ for my dear friend whose mother recently passed … it is a dream to stitch and regret not having done one of your designs before . You are so calming and sweet , love your videos !
Your mother was so very talented. The Christening Gown she made is absolutely beautiful! What a special heirloom for your family. Thank you for sharing your creative process with us! Your designs are lovely!
Happy Mother’s Day💝 Judy, you are a darling lady! There are so many wonderful celebrations coming up for you! Enjoy! I love the beautiful Christening Dress your Mother made. That was true talent, inspiration, and love! My Mother always said, she needed a pattern. One that was preferably easy to read. McCall was good. Butterick was too difficult. Lol. She did cross stitch table cloths and my Dad’s handkerchiefs by hand without pattern. And made a quilt from my Dad’s and his brother’s old suits! 🤗to you, Judy!!
Hi Pat, You just reminded me of two things. One is that I have a small tablecloth that my Mother cross stitched, along with napkins, but I think it was a stamped fabric. And she also always used a pattern. Thanks for writing!
What a wonderful heirloom that christening dress/gown is. I am also shocked at the condition. Most of my baby stuff (I'm almost 50) are stained, a little beat up etc.
I have no idea how it lasted so well, as it wasn’t until the last 10 years or so that is was stored properly. But thank goodness. And I hope that one of my children or grandchildren will save it too.
Oh my word, Judy, the christening gown is absolutely amazing. Thank you for sharing it and your pictures. I am very excited for the stocking book to be released. Happy Mother's Day.
Hi Judy. The Christening dress and slip are beautiful! I know my daughter and granddaughters and niece wore the dress my 2 sisters and I wore. Tradition is a wonderful thing! 🥰 I will have to try to find out if it had been also worn by my mother and her sister? I really enjoyed your video today that showed us your design process. You have such beautiful designs. The Christmas song/hymn stockings look great! Happy Mother’s Day! 🙏🏼🥰🇨🇦🌺
I stitched the christening gown, cap and diaper cover in eyelet for my three children. Unfortunately, it did not survive Katrina; it would have been awesome for my grands to have also worn it. I’m sorry the cap for yours has been lost.
Hi Judy. I purchased when cardinals appear but found an error. The chart shows a triangle but there is no triangle in the colour code chart. The triangle shows up in the cherries. I await your response. Thanks
🙂☝️you can add1 more new subscriber to your list Judy💖Enjoying your videos #subscribed today.Judi 💖-me ☕" have a & make it a beautiful day!"- Judi Hart💖& Happy Mothers Day to you& all💖👍😎🙂🤔I'm gonna have lots of questions! lol as I always do.🤷♀️ I am not just satisfied with stitching & it doesn't take very long for me in any art form to quickly start thinking of also designing. Actually working on my 1st (turn some of my sketches into embroidery& cross stitch patterns).🤔☝️1st question. Listening as you described your design process.Did you have to get permission from chintzware for example to use parts of their floral patterns to use in your crossstitch configurations? To then chart as your own?& sell?May seem like a silly question.🤔However! There are so many so called free patterns& yet they are not really free.Where does one find actual Royalty free?& copyright free patterns? You can not reproduce & try to sell.or can you?if you reconfigure(design) differently can you then chart& sell as your own? How does that work? & of course with crossstitching. 🤔 A heart for example. I've done with like you said on grid paper or bullet journal paper.& Of course I'm thinking!🤷♀️☝️I bet I can find the exact same design someone else has already done. & I did.🤔☝️&😬Don't want to cross the cross stitch police.(😉💖pardon the pun!) Do want to use some actual royalty& copyright free patterns&elements .🤔Are there actually any?Your thoughts?& any advice would be great. TY! &God bless!💖👍😎
Judi, thank you for being a new subscriber, and I will try to address some questions in next video. I certainly don’t have all of the answers, but other viewers may chime in with their thoughts.

Hi Pat,
You just reminded me of two things. One is that I have a small tablecloth that my Mother cross stitched, along with napkins, but I think it was a stamped fabric. And she also always used a pattern.
Thanks for writing!
I stitched my daughter's christeninggown with slip and cap back in 1977. Quite a project but such an heirloom. Happy Mothers Day Judt❤
Oh that must have been a huge project Anne. Happy Mother’s Day to you also.
Thanks so much Crystal!
The Christening dress is such a treasure. So beautiful!
Thank you GRM, and thanks for your suggestion in the last episode.
@@jbwdesignscrossstitch4750 it’s actually for Grandma Nat but it’s totally fine. 😊 Thank you for mentioning it.
Thanks for sharing the christening dress story. I would love to find a copy of your book.
I will have to look to see if it is still, out there anywhere.
Thanks for sharing the story on the christening dress. Its beautiful!
Happy Mothers day.
Dear Felice,
Thank you for watching and Happy Mother’s Day to you also.
The Christening gown was beautiful. Happy Mothers Day!
Thank you Margaret. I can’t wait to see it on the baby next weekend.
The Christening dress is so Lovely, and stitched by hand makes it even more exceptional. A true inspiration and example of ❤️ Love.
Thank you Jane. I can’t imagine tackling such a project. And we are so lucky to still have it in our family. 🤗
We have a christening gown handed down threw the ages and has the names of those who wore it stitched on the petticoat
Oh I love that idea Angela!
Thank you ma. I so appreciate you taking the time to watch the video and am glad you enjoyed it. Your notes make it all worthwhile.
The christening dress is so precious.
Thank you Elaine!
I stitched the christening gown, cap and diaper cover in eyelet for my three children. Unfortunately, it did not survive Katrina; it would have been awesome for my grands to have also worn it. I’m sorry the cap for yours has been lost.
Oh that’s so sad to read Judy about your dress being lost in the hurricane. And I too wish I knew what happened to the cap. Thank you for writing.
Judy I love all of the insight. What computer program do you use .
I use a charting program called MacStitch.
Hi Judy. I purchased when cardinals appear but found an error. The chart shows a triangle but there is no triangle in the colour code chart. The triangle shows up in the cherries. I await your response. Thanks
Never mind I found the correction on the 123 stitch site…

YW!& TY! 💖☕👍😎🙂
