i miss when all star moves were unique and not just characters turning into their plane forms and shooting some kind of projectile or shockwave and the announcer just saying they've gone all star instead of eggman pressing his red button.

All star moves from the first game are truly amazing
Transformed is definitely the better game, but what made the first game stick out for me was its personality, specifically with the announcer and unique all-star moves. I almost like it more because of that.

I agree I wish they kept the announcer the same he would say really funny comments at times and sounded like an announcer and not like a robot
My thoughts exactly. I've been looking into both recently and remember the first one fondly from when I was a kid, and it seems like that's because the first one has a little more personality (could also be nostalgia glasses to be fair!)
So many memories playing this as a 5 year old did come back to the game for nostalgia and to bring back the memories I've cherished for oh so long and my god they came flooding back
The reason why the all-star moves got heavily nerfed in this game is because in the original game, most all-stars could easily send you back to first place, making it easy to cheese your all-stars.

I bought sonic all star racing about 2 hours ago and have played it a ton, I've bought it since it was on sale + the game was a part of my childhood
I decided to play the game and set the AI a little high, so I would usually see myself at around last place depending on the map
And on god it is horrible how OP they were
I was sent flying from 8th place to first place
weirdest line up of characters... danica patrick, team fortress, wrekc it ralph and yogscast in the same game!?
But their voices sound nothing like the actual voice actors despite Sega actually getting them for this game.

At least there was an interesting, if a little bizarre, set of characters. Not to say the first game didn't have a good array of characters, but let's face it; Where else can Yogscast, Wreck-It Ralph, Danica Patrick, and Sonic the Hedgehog exist in the same place? Also, it had great tracks.

@@dr.soulja2123 I love that song and I would have picked What I'm Made of if I played Sonic Heroes. I did play Sonic 4 ep 2. I haven't finished the game, but I did fought against Metal Sonic. I played Sonic Heroes on the computer , but stopped, because I couldn't get used to the controls on there. That was years ago on a computer that died quickly. If I fully played Sonic Heroes and I fought Metal Sonic, then What I'm Made of would be my favorite Metal Sonic theme. Stardust Speedway is pretty good, with Sonic Mania, Sonic Forces and Sonic Generations being my favorite versions of Stardust Speedway, but Sonic 4 ep 2 is better, because it fits Metal Sonic better as a fight, while the other songs are more fit for a race. It's repetitive yet awesome.

It feels like the only unique ones are NiGHTS, Reala, and Gum. NiGHTS and Reala’s All-Stars basically let you control them in their normal humanoid forms, while Gum’s takes inspiration from DJ Professor K’s description of her, leaving a trail of broken hearts wherever she goes. Everyone else’s is either a get-off-me burst or a projectile attack.

the all star moves are good but i wish the character (like sonic amy knuckles shadow etc) came out of their cars when doing them. Like in the sonic and sega all star racing, it shows more character.

OK this is weirder than banjo and kazoie being in the Xbox 360 version in the last all stars racing game.
Can't believe they took a step backwards. All star racing one was way better when it came to all star moves.

Bitches complain about the All stars being lamer without taking into account that the previous games were woefully unbalanced and couldn't be played in online mode.
Plus the Tracks in this are FAR superior to the first game's because they each represented different games as opposed to the 3 tracks per world (most of which was Sonic).

Transformed was an extremly underated game. Amazing dynamic tracks, a pretty decent roster that had 1 or 2 different exclusive characters depending on the console version and some really neat single player content. I hope this game gets a sequel someday.
I wouldn't say Bland at all in fact one track per world gives each one more of chance to shine. Just look at Rogue's Landing and Graveyard Gig.
The tracks are fine nobody complains about those well maybe race of ages idk, but everyone's just upset that the all stars all generally look the same movement buff and short or long range projectile, and you say unbalanced well of course racing games with items tend to do that and besides it was fun. They all just look so plain in this game

At least it has something good, as down graded as it may be. At least better than Team Sonic Racing which is basically just a boost instead of an actual attack. At least the music was good too in that game. This game overall is better in music when comparing the two recent games. The first game is better all star wise.
I think the All Star moves were made this way to make the game work online. The OG all star moves had cutscenes, so maybe that’s why the old game didn’t have online

We need Segata Sanshiro back. Here is my ideas for his vehicle and all star.
Car: Flame Runner from Mario Kart Wii but with spiked tires and a dragon head. Also Sega Saturn inspired.
Plane: The rocket in the last commercial
Boat: Sega Saturn controller
All Star: The plane actually turns into a dragon and Segata shoots the rocket from the last commercial repeatedly.
How about Silver the hedgehog driving a formula e car which works almost like Sonic's; only more streamlined? For all star move, I suggest his powers locking onto another racer.

I'm surprised Bigs, Billy Hatcher, Opa-Opa, Chuchus, Zobio and Zobiko, Jacky and Akira, and Bonanza Bros didn't return. Also surprised Silver, Vector, Espio, Charmy, Mighty, rouge, chaos, Jet the hawk, Toejam and Earl, Ristar, Pepper, Bug!, Centurion, Neff, death adder, Axel from streets of rage, Vectorman, kazuma, keil, pulseman , bayonetta, Alis Landale, Arle, Wild Woody, ecco, seaman, mr.bones, wonderboy, flicky, kid chameleon, michael hardy, segata, Sakura,Wein, JJ, Pengo, psycho fox, Earthworm Jim, Bad Mr. Frosty, and Boogerman didn't get in.

Both games were super cool,but i liked the first one better

all the "all star moves" are just super turbos, launching projectiles and shock waves
While Transformed did add some neat additions, the removal of the Narrator actually *being* a narrator and the fact each All-star move is either, projectile spam or an AOE attack in the Plane form (minus NiGHTS and Reala who take their original form) is really saddening.
But considering *Danica Patrick* of all people was added to the base roster and the fact there are sections where traveling through the sky or on water would've looked weird with specific characters outside of their vehicles, they probably needed to compromise and settled for making the All-star moves basic attacks that could be reskined to match a specific character.
Which fun fact, in the 3DS version neither NiGHTS nor Reala go into their original forms. Most likely for both hardware reasons and to keep a steady framerate as Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed was released *before* the NEW 3DS was even a thing.
Also, Miis work differently between versions. In the Wii U version, you can't select which Mii you'd like to use but the Super Zoomer will change color according your Mii's favorite color. In the 3DS version the Super Zoomer's default color is red (which matches the 3DS' logo fittingly enough), but you can select from the list of Miis (including Guest Miis) that are on your 3DS.
One last note related to Miis, the Swords and Shields seen in the All-star Move for Miis aren't just a random choice by the developers, it actually references Find Mii/Streetpass Quest, one of two default games available in Streetpass Mii Plaza.

It’d be way better if the two games “combined,” such as having all characters from both games in one big game, as well as the old announcer and all stars. Also more tracks for each franchise, and more remixed songs for these tracks. Also, have certain characters from both games use bikes like in the last one.

Team Sonic Racing, Sonic Forces and Sonic Frontiers are bad though

The All-Star moves in this game were just lame. I mean the ones in the prequel actually did some damage, but these are hardly useful...
I dunno. I can count PLENTY of instances where a well-timed, and well-aimed projectile from an All-Star move moved me up some in a race. So, I suppose it honestly depends on your definition of useful. :P
In the previous game, the all star moves was high speed maneuvers, areal blasts, and ranged attacks. Now it's only areal blasts and ranged attacks.
I could see some damage being caused, but some are absolutely pathetic.

If there was a port of this for Switch, PS4, and Xbox One (the port can be free DLC for PC), I want to see Billy Hatcher back and have the DLC PC characters (except Team Fortress, they can stay in the PC version) in the console versions. New Sega characters I want to see are Arle Nadja from Puyo Puyo, Vectorman, Astal and Pepper from Clockwork Knight. New guest characters I want are Hatsune Miku, Crash Bandicoot and even SpongeBob cause why not. And maybe they can put in Mario and maybe the Inkling girl in the Switch version as an exclusive to the said console. And maybe they can put Ratchet and Clank to the PS4 version.
