Samba de janeiró came in my recommended and it unlocked a whole lot of memories of this game i forgot existed aswell as the racing version. Used to play this with my older bro all the time.
My brother and I used to play this game on the PS2 back in the days! My brother would always be in front of me when we played doubles! He liked to play as Gillius since we thought his Ultimate was OP! But since he was closer to the net, he was more prone to hitting it (even with the lightning power!) and unintentionally giving the opponents more points!
This game is so nostalgic and cool! (Despite the fact I have to go through some unforgiving missions like the part where I have to avoid spike orbs for example)
I cant believe we had to wait till All Stars Racing Transformed for some of these characters to come back. IN ASR, the only characters that returned were shadow, eggman, Amigo, Ulala, AIAI, beat and alex kidd.
The background characters in this game kinda deserved to be playable characters. And more super monkey ball, Jet set radio, Nights into dreams characters etc.
Damn I remember when the demo for the game released on ps3 and I would play it nonstop on the weekend’s, I didn’t get the full game because the ps3 was with my brothers and they were living in another city because of university, the year after (if I am not mistaken) I found the Ps2 copy of it in the store for like a few bucks, and I would play that sucker like crazy.... good times man good times🌚👍🏿💔.
I played this game as a child without knowing any other characters besides the sonic cast and even then i wouldn't be able to tell you how the characters were on their stage. Now know basecly every character origin game and i can say they did them justice this is what a crossover game should be not just know their just playing tennis

Yeah, SEGA and SUMO ignoring Puyo Puyo characters in the All Star series always bugged me, the only explanation I can think of, is because the games might be "too japanese" but I don't think anybody would care about that, there's also Ristar, one of the most underrated SEGA characters ever, when he finally made into something he was the flag waver.
