Thank you for this. I just put these wheels on my ‘02 WRX yesterday and found the wheels do not fit with that years OEM. I’ll have to snag a pair of these 4 pots.
The rear brembo on an sti is significantly smaller than the front brembo. Is the rear Brembo small enough to clear a 15. would changing the rear caliper really be necessary?
Anyone know if 15" rims would fit over the stock calipers on a 06 impreza. I'm still planning on upgrading the breaks I'd just like to know if I have to do them first or if I can get wheels first.
You didn't really comment on the braking performance, though. How much does it suffer by going smaller? My understanding is that in WRC, they combat this by widening the rotors to increase heat capacity and reduce fade.
Braking power is very similar, but it can be challenging to find the right combination of rotor, pad and caliper that doesn't fade quick. Some of the cars we fit brake cooling ducts.
Curious, temperature operation range for the pads was mentioned. Going from the ST3 Brembos to Group N what pads and fluid would be recommended to had the same stopping performance in street and track usage since one would be going to a smaller fraction surface?
you probably dont care but does anybody know of a trick to get back into an instagram account? I somehow forgot the account password. I love any tricks you can give me.
@Kaleb Brysen Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
They only make them that size because of how rough the roads are. The more sidewall you have, the better protected the wheels are. We still break and bend gravel rally wheels, so anything with less sidewall would be pretty risky. Before you can win, you have to finish.
@@fury211 go to your local rally stage / dirt road with your 18" wheels and tyres, travel at the speed limit (which should be around 100km/h since it's in the country) and you'll know why within a few seconds
@@DirtFish thanks for getting back to me, i wonder if maybe the rear would fit because the calipers are a lot smaller and I could just swap the front to the 4 pot?
I did this on my 2016 WRX to be able to fit a 16 inch snow tire last year. I Love it!!
Nice! It opens up a whole world of possibilities.
Excellent video. Thank you Tony.
Glad you like it!
Awesome to know my 06 wrx has group N rally brakes! :D
What pads do you use?
We use Hawk HP+.
Will this work on a 2020 wrx base ?

Do you guys sell the brake scraper or have suggestions on where to find one?
I want make the reverse on my 07
any links to the rotors that will work??
Flip through the DBA catalogue
do you sell those rock scrapers for a WRX?
Pretty sure the 00-07 STI can just accept the rear caliper directly - like the front, it just needs a new set of rotors (from STI or KNS/DBA).
Where I can find the rotors that I need for the front and rear thank you!!!

They won't fit, get a template from Method, cut it out and try it yourself
Hey Dirtfish, are you selling any of those lightly used Brembos your swapping out?
Its possible to fit this wrx brakes on impreza 2009 with 15' wheels...disc dimensions?
Would I be able to run wheels with a lower offset say 18x10 +20 on a 2015+ sti with these smaller brakes?
Does this setup cause more brake fade because of the smaller rotors?

what's ur rear disc spec?
Will those same front Subaru calipers fit the BRZ?
Yes, they will!

@Kaleb Brysen it worked and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my ass :D
@Justin Alvin You are welcome :)
curious about the tires, they make none in 18's, or do you need more sidewall?
Gravel rally tires only come in 15".
@@DirtFish sounds like an untapped market.

DBA's are the worst disc I have ever used for motorsport. So much cracking and crazing.
Subaru Motorsports USA has been using them for the last couple of years and like them.
Does bro need a drink of water or something?

would these 15 in rally wheels fit over stock brakes on a non sti 2015 wrx ?
No, they made the WRX brakes larger in 2015.

The rears should fit a 15" rally wheel with the standard setup.
@@DirtFish well that saves me $1000 :) thanks
