Looking for a classic Mercedes-Benz that will surely put a smile on your face and has a few updated features? MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to offer this 1965 Mercedes-Benz 190c Fintail sedan with full air ride! This car is mostly original throughout and could easily serve as someone’s fun and styling daily driver.
The car’s original Red exterior (code DB-519) is in very good exterior and the trim is good. The glass panels are in very good order, clear and crack-free, as are the vehicle’s lights. The car rolls on Milestar tires with matching Signal Red factory wheel covers. The engine bay is very tidy and the battery appears new. The body panels are all straight and the bumpers are in very good shape. This particular Benz is equipped with approximately $3,400 worth of air suspension from Air Ride Technologies. Car includes a cheat sheet on how to use the air ride suspension and how to start the engine.
Speaking of that engine, it’s a 1.9L four-cylinder petrol version that was rebuilt approximately 30,000 miles ago, that includes a rebuilt carburetor and is attached to a four-speed manual transmission and a 4.08 rear end. Car also has a new fuel filter and fuel tank. The structure of the new cars followed the principles established with the Ponton saloons in its unitary construction with the engine and front suspension mounted on a detachable subframe. The subframe was rather simpler in design than the Ponton type. Front suspension was essentially the same as before, with unequal-length wishbones and coil springs, although the track was wider, the dampers were located further outboard and an anti-roll bar permitted rather softer springing for an American-style ride. This was matched by softer springs at the rear, where one swing-axle was sprung against the other to prevent excessive roll by a horizontally mounted coil spring above the differential
Inside, the car’s beige cloth front bucket seats and rear bench are in very good order. The matching carpet is in good shape and the beige headliner is in very good seat. The contrasting black instrument panel, with its unique vertical gauge cluster, is in good shape, while the two-spoke steering wheel is in fair shape, with a few minor blemishes. The door panels, mirror glass, and shifter are all in good condition while the center console is in fair shape. This is a radio delete model.
Documentation includes original owner’s manual, copy of factory data card and smaller images of data card, engine block stamping, chassis-frame stamping and chassis plate.
    Competition to this car in 1965 included BMW’s 1800, Peugeot’s 404 and Citroën’s DS 19 sedans.
This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 34,657 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
