  • I love to rebuild old Tamiya RC cars and this was a fun one. Took a little longer than i anticipated due to having to get some parts from the UK, but i think it was worth the effort..
Tamiya Australia is an Instagram page and UA-cam channel dedicated to all things Tamiya. I have been collecting Tamiya RC products for over 35 years and have amassed a large collection of runners, new in box and shelf queens..
I hope you enjoy the content that I make.. I do if for fun!
Tamiya Incorporated (株式会社タミヤ, Kabushiki gaisha Tamiya) is a Japanese manufacturer of plastic model kits, radio-controlled cars, battery and solar powered educational models, sailboat models, acrylic and enamel model paints, and various modelling tools and supplies. The company was founded by Yoshio Tamiya in Shizuoka, Japan, in 1946.
The company has gained a reputation among hobbyists of producing models of outstanding quality and accurate scale detail. The company's philosophy is reflected directly in its motto: "First in quality around the world". Tamiya's metal moulds are produced from plans with the concept of being "easy to understand and build, even for beginners". Even the box art is consistent with this throughout the company. Tamiya has been awarded the Modell des Jahres (Model of the Year) award, hosted by the German magazine ModellFan.
Products currently commercialized by Tamiya include (toy and collectibles): scale plastic model cars, aircraft, military vehicles, motorcycles, figurines, radio-controlled cars, trucks, and tanks. Tamiya also produces materials and tools, including enamel paints, acrylic paints, airbrushes, aerosol paint, and marker pens.

    Great video man! 🙏
I love sourcing tired old RC cars and bringing them back to full glory in a very similar way to how you operate!
It's such a rewarding experience, but can often take some time, especially sourcing new old stock parts for some of the more rare cars that haven't been re issued.
That buggy came out really nice, great work fella!
Over the last few years I've fully restored an Original Monster Beetle, Mud Blaster, Clod buster, Midnight pumpkin, Celica GRB, and two Porshe 959's...... all to 'as new' condition!
Sometimes it's very easy in your quest for perfection to end up spending far more than the cars actually worth..... but that's not what it's about!
Would love to see more of this type of content fella, very enjoyable viewing.
    😊 👍 👍 👍

I just restored a few of my old buggies. I use apple cider vinegar for the rusty bits and autosol plastic polish. We went from Bangkok for the weekend went to the Tamiya Premium Club in Asoke was some good stuff there but just had a backpack so didn't pick anything up.

@tamiya_australia there both cheap options. The apple cider vinegar pulled off 12yr old rust no issue even on black metal it works great have a good one 🍻
